This was our first visit to Sissi,...

This was our first visit to Sissi, and the Alexandros Hotel. This is a family run hotel and the accommodation consists of a fridge, small sink/drainer units in rooms, kettle, hairdryer and TV, very clean. The towels are changed every day, bed sheets every other day. Maria and her sister Leitsa are brilliant and so very friendly nothing is too much trouble. The food is wonderful and nicely presented and a good price too. A lovely swimming pool, plenty of sun loungers and parasols plus tables and chairs, there is also a fully equipped gym. Sissi is a beautiful little fishing village, everyone is so friendly. The place to be of an evening is THE SISSI ARMS PUB, which is family run by Adonni (Tony) and Helen. The interior is finished to a very high SPEC, 10/10, beautifully done. The service and food is to a very high standard, and any preference to music you have, you can bet they’ve got it, they also have karaoke and live music. They will not only make you feel welcome but introduce you to their friends, e.g. Jimmie (The Greek) who are all genuine people. To check out the entire Island you’ll need transport, look no further than Jimmie’s place THE ROAD RUNNER, this is next door to THE SISSI ARMS PUB. You will find very competitive prices, on mopeds, quad bikes and beach buggy’s. Last but not least, pay them a visit even if it’s only to meet ROCKY! Woman fall in love with him, men admire him as he struts his stuff, no he’s not the next Greek Adonis, but a little cross Terrier dog, what a character. We hope to see you all next year, Paula and Ian.

I have stayed at the Alexandros Hotel 7 times since 2004, that I feel part of the family and have been treated as such. Each time I go more members of my family join me this year family members from Canada are making the trip to Crete so they too can enjoy a relaxing holiday with a great atmosphere.
The hotel is cleaned constantly by friendly staff, the food is good with Litsa remembering everyone’s preferences. The Dusk till Dawn bar is run expertly by Maria and she'll keep pouring for as long as you can keep drinking.
My favourite restaurant in Sissi is Kokata's just a 4 minute walk from the hotel. The village is small and friendly with a good choice of restaurants along the harbour and a few bars. There are many gift shops so you can find something for everyone. The large super market along from the hotel is well stocked and clean.
I recommend a stay at the Alexandros every time 10 out of 10.

We went as a family to this hotel....

We went as a family to this hotel. The resort is very quiet which suited us. We ate at the Pink Flamingo 3 times & meal was good each time, ate three times down at the harbour, Mama Mia's, Miramare & Elite, meals were all good but service at Elite was like watching episode of Fawlty Towers as waiters did not have a clue what they were doing.
The hotel rooms were kept very clean with change of bedding & towels every 2 days. The cleaners were mother & daughter & they were always smiling & always saying hello.
Maria, Litsa, Manolis (the Dad) & Nana who run the hotel were great. Litsa makes breakfast & will make you toast if you ask, Manolis makes the best pork chops in Sissi, and Nana always has a wave for you & a yeia sas.
Ate lunch there most days & was always good especially the chips.
Greek night at hotel was great & we all had lots of fun.
The pool is kept clean & lots of sun beds, sometimes it was only us round pool as never really that busy. Other guests were really friendly.
In the evenings we would sit in the pool bar & enjoy a drink with Maria who was good fun & always had a laugh with her, it was a great holiday & we will miss being there. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Returned this morning from a lovely 2 week stay at Alexandros. Very friendly people, nothing was too much trouble for them and remarkably impressed by the rooms being cleaned daily! Also very pleased that the bar would stay open until the last person left - lets say in our case that wasn't until 1.30 - 2am!
Was a bit disappointed that we had basic shower facilities, and the view from our room wasn't great (power cables and a house under construction) but did have nice views of the sea and the sunsets.
Will recommend Pink Flamingo, Kokotas, Fisherman's Place, Mike's Place and Mamma Mia's for dining out. The resort itself was so quiet and peaceful, really sad to leave last night.
Am definitely planning to come back to Alexandros again soon!

This is our third year back at the Alexandros and this hotel is going from strength to strength and deservedly so, Maria, Litsa, Manos and Grandma just cannot do enough for you to ensure that you have the most incredible stay, we feel that its like home from home.
The food is well cooked, presented and plentiful and at very reasonable prices, the bar is open for as long as you want to stay drinking, the pool is spotlessly clean and well maintained with an abundance of sunbeds and parasols - there is absolutely no need to "reserve" them.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the cleaning girls a joy. Lots of lovely places to eat or have a drink whilst watching the magnificent sunsets down in the harbour, our favourite has to be Mamma Mia's, well worth a visit, cars are cheap to hire taxis also cheap to hire, lots a day trips are available to book a particular favourite of ours was Spinalonga the evacuated Leper colony a very emotional and interesting place to visit. Malia is 10 minutes car journey for the younger people who want the clubs and bars and night-life.
We have now secured our flights for return journey number 4 for next year at the Alexandros, when you have found perfection no real point looking any further.

Jul 2007, Mr L Ecroyd

Stayed at Alexandros, Sissi. Hotel is ok, rooms and bathroom basic and cleaning could have been better. Would not choose it again.
Best for eating out try Mikes Place, hidden behind supermarket opposite Union Jack Pub (we ate there a few times and go for his specials). Or Mama Mias, also Kokotas up past Palm Bay Hotel.

Jan 2007, Ms T Syracopoulos

We stayed at the Hotel Alexandros for 2 weeks in July 2006. It was a wonderful place to stay.
Sissi is a lovely town and the hotel is quiet and easy walking distance to anything in the town. We especially loved El Greco Beach for swimming.
The hotel dinners were excellent and every other restaurant we ate at during our stay was also excellent, with special mention of Paradosiako and Michael's.
The hotel was clean, as friendly as can be and any help/information we needed was readily offered.

Jun 2005, Mrs S.A Radley

This is a wonderful family run hotel and accommodation is perfect with fridges and small sink/drainer units in rooms, kettles and hairdryers and TV, spotlessly clean, bed sheets and towels changed every other day. Maria and her sister Leitsa are brilliant and so very friendly nothing is too much trouble for either of them, their parents are lovely too although limited in English, every day you are greeting with cheery hello how are you from everyone.
The food is glorious, a full English breakfast to set you up into the evening for as little as 6 euros. A lovely swimming pool abundance of sun loungers and parasols and little tables, a fully equipped gym, this is the place to be.......Sissi is a beautiful little fishing village, everyone is so friendly, check out the Sissi Arms pub and say hi to our old friends Helen and Adonis that run it, they are lovely people and take time out to listen to Helen’s dad sing!! he performs live there twice a week, what a voice! We have had such a brilliant time that we have re-booked with Maria for next year!!!......Happy holidays, many many thanks to everybody at the Alexandros.
