Country Inn & Suites Hotel

Very pleasant staff, nice suite. Clean even though starting to re-furbish. Very good Continental breakfast, plenty of choice and not rationed. Quiet pool side seating. No problem with shuttle buses, to Magic Kingdom. Green buses run passed hotel often. My wife and i had a pleasant stay, even though walking due to ill health, did not stop us visiting nearby attractions on foot.

The room was $59 - it was a deal! The desk clerks were friendly, attentive and helpful. The free breakfast was great - they even had two waffle makers. The room could use some decor improvements - the lampshades were dented, and part of the curtain was faded. But the room was very clean. The hotel has a book lending program. We were there 7/23/2005. First, the only positive point. Close proximity to Universal. The room was in bad conditions, with about 3 feet of peeling border from the wall (see picture). Dirt was everywhere and when we retired for the night instead of a chocolate on the pillow we found a roach. Management absolutely unresponsive. Nasty experience.

I wasn't as amused with this Country Inn and Suites as I have been with others. The outside of the hotel was beautiful, as was the lobby and breakfast area. But the certification on the elevators was expired and they were slow. The hallway smelled like wet dog and our room was very damp (which might have to do with the humidity in the area, but it was still annoying.) The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Unfortunately, it did not make up for the small, but annoying inconveniences. The sheets were worn, with small tears in them and overall, the room needed remodeling. The decor was pleasant enough, but worn. We got fresh towels everyday, but during our 4 night stay, the sheets did not get changed. When we arrived we had been allocated a suite. This included a sofa bed for our teenage children which was not very comfortable and I would not consider it to be suitable for adults or teenagers. We changed to a room with 2 queen sized beds which had a musty smell, but this soon cleared after a few hours. The room was more than adequate and quite nicely decorated. The hotel staff was very friendly when checking in and throughout our stay. The suite was a nice size with a king size bed and seperate area with a sofabed. The sofabed doesn't have extra blankets in the room and one was never provided. The room could've been nicer with some baseboards and the wallborder was coming down. The breakfast was better then most continentals but the breakfast area was always crowded and needed more seating. We stayed in this Hotel two times over the last three weeks. First when we got to the US (5 nights) as well as our last night over there. We really liked our stay in the Country Inn. The rooms were clean and spacious (we had the room with the kingsize bed, so there was even room for a couch, a table and a cabinet on which the tv stood. There was extended cable tv and the bathroom was beautiful with big mirror an bath. Verified over and over that this was new and not "remodeled" new. It is only recently remodeled, and it shows. When you walk in, the wood flooring on top of the original flooring is installed poorly and buckling. Air conditioning was not on throughout hotel until you turned it on in the room. Elevators were stifling from the heat. Shuttle to parks must have been low bidder (LR Joseph?) and jostled us between vans and buses. Attempted pickup from parks with a van (twice) for 30-40 people - bus ended up there 20 min later.

We cancelled our original reservations elsewhere after hearing terrible reviews and booked with Country Inn and Suites after reading wonderful things. It certainly lived up to it's reputation. The rooms were clean and the atmosphere was homey! The staff was extremely helpful, and the free breakfast every morning was great! What a wonderful way to start the day! We would definitely stay again, and highly recommend it too!!!
