this is a average hotel.
no air conditioning, only a small vent in the wall which only works from 11pm to 7am.
the hotel bar shots at 11pm.
the hotel is clean and it was nice to see the pool been checked for chlorine levels at night.

Had a lovely time at this hotel. Food was adequate and varied. Hotel itself was very nice but the thing that makes me want to go back to this particular hotel is that it is central to all your needs. The Taxi Boat, a dolmus, shops, restaurants, the beach etc everything is to hand and only a short distance away. Rooms cleaned daily. The staff work so so hard and should be commended. They are a credit to the hotel. Due to the experience we had this time around we are happy to be hopefully going back in September or October for another week's holiday.
Well done to the Fortuna Hotel cant understand why people previously have given a low score unless it is under new management and improved. Chef works hard to supply all sorts of meals cold and hot something to cater for all tastes. Lovely places to eat out and I especially recommend the Love Boat for a lovely culinary experience.
Cant wait to get back later this year. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone

I have never written a hotel review before but due the bad press given to the Fortuna Beach in previous reviews I felt it only fair to let you hear my comments. I stayed at the Fortuna Beach with my husband & 24 others who joined us on our honeymoon (we were 20 adults & 6 children)! We weren't expecting a lot from the hotel especially in the food department but I must say we were all pleasantly surprised. The food wasn't fantastic but was varied & always edible there wasn't a mealtime that any of us walked away from the table hungry. The staff were very helpful, especially the reception staff. The rooms were cleaned daily with clean towels provided every day. I would definitely stay at the Fortuna Beach again as would the rest of the people in our party. Must say if you go to Icmeler visit Ali at the Amalia Bar, opposite the Blue Rainbow Hotel, & Morat at the Mister Chef in the old town area, you’ll get the best of welcomes & the food is fab!

Well before i start i would like to add that i have been to Turkey many times with my husband and my two young daughters. All our visits to turkey have been pleasent and have been fun answell as exiting.
Icmeler is a lovely place to stay with breath taking views and scenery. You cannot complain about the weather! Every day was boiling hot and we enjoyed it as we can not say the weather in England is very appealing at the moment!
The people are very friendly especialy male Turks! Almost too friendly towards young girls - My daughter (14) found the men were always staring and eyeing her up and she found the stay uncomfortable because of this. My husband and i had also noticed this and kept an eye on our daughters! i advise you to do the same if you have children as the turks can get extremely close and too friendly.
The Hotlel!
We found the hotel was okay, but we wouldn't say it was a 4 star, 3 star maybe with a push! It was clean and the rooms were cleaned and tidy every day very well! The air conditioning didnt work in out room and we had to purchase a fan which kept the room cool enough to sleep through the night!
The food i wasnt overly keen on, as it was much repeated all the time (everyday!) Chicken, rice and chips was our diet for two weeks and it got boring after a few days.
Deserts were not exiting. Mostly melon and biscuits.
Pool area was tiny and in the shade! There were only a few sun loungers. I would say ten in an 200 room hotel. Most of the staff spoke little english and the receptionist needs to have some english lessons! Quite poor!
Rep very good and visited alot!
Overall fortuna beach is not the best of places to stay!

This was our 6th time to Icmeler, Turkey. We have stayed in all inclusive hotels every time.
We usually go to Turkey in July as it’s the hottest season of the year and lovely weather!
We didn’t find this hotel as good as others!
This hotel was also all inclusive, but food not very good! Always the same food. If the chicken hadn't been eaten Monday it was sure to be used Tuesday either in the soup or in something else. Not nice food either!
Wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all!
Watch out for young girls as my 13 year old was always being eyed up by Turks who are like in their 30's. Watch out for that!
Don’t go here!

I went for a week with my friend as our first holiday away together.
We were originally staying in the Alinda hotel, and as we arrived there we were told that it was closed down and they were moving us to Fortuna beach which was rated apparently as a four star, I would not give it that higher rating it was pushing a 3.
When we arrived the hotel didn’t look very nice from first experiences but I wasn’t going to judge anything by that. Inside the hotel looked very clean and nice. We got into our room and it seemed okay just for us to sleep in and get ready to go out.
The pool was tiny and in the shade so that wasn’t appealing to stay around.
The food was the worst, it was the same every night and it was not at all appealing it was an effort to eat over there, so most of our money was wasted on eating out.
I wouldn’t go back to the hotel again. The food was re-heated and was used the next night. No great variety of food.

The hotel overall was quite nice, although we got moved hotels and were not told, the rooms were always clean and the staff were always polite.
The problem was... the food. We had the same food everyday for a week, both lunch and dinner, it looked as if it had been reheated and quite a few people complained.
In the end we spent more money as we had to eat out nearly every night as the food was always the same and didn’t taste very nice.
I have been to Icmeler 8 times and love the place but have never been to a hotel where the food was the same every night.
All the people who I have spoken to in the hotel were complaining but nothing was done about it, I know it’s the end of the season but that doesn’t make a difference.
It won’t stop me coming to Icmeler as I love the place but I won’t go back to the same hotel.

The wife and I stayed at Fortuna Beach Hotel for 2 weeks 3rd Aug to 16th Aug 2007. This hotel is rated 4 star - I'd give it 3 with a push, we went A/I.
The local drinks on A/I include raki, gin, vodka, beer. If you wanted anything else ie whisky, Bacardi, Baileys etc you had to pay. Ice cream for the kids you also have to pay for.
The meals were almost repeated daily. Dinner, lunch, consisted of rice, chicken, meatballs, chips and fish. Breakfast consisted of boiled eggs omelets fried eggy bread.
The rooms were ok if the air conditioning was working. I was told by reception that the air conditioning came on 3 times a day 7.30am - 9.30am, 5.30pm-7.30pm and again 11pm-2.30am if like me and others thought if you kept it switched on it would run continuously it does but only blowing warm air outside these times. A few couples we met had to go out and purchase electric fans to keep the rooms cool.
The bar closes every night at 11pm. I went bar one night at 5 mins passed 11 and was told bar had closed if i wanted another drink to go out for it.
The wife and I loved Turkey, the people were very friendly, weather fantastic but staying at Fortuna Beach again I don't think so. I must add the hotel staff were GREAT.

On arrival we were informed that our hotel was overbooked and will go the Fortuna Beach Hotel instead. We were directed to a taxi with only one seatbelt in the back working.
Being aware of how they drive in Turkey, I refused to travel unless I was wearing a seat belt. The other couple in their ignorance said it was not a problem, something they came to regret very soon as we rallied up and down the mountains to the resort of Icmeler.
The Fortuna Beach Hotel has been advertised as a Four star, this is stretching the imagination to the limit. A Two star plus, maybe.
The food was unimaginative, repetitive, to the point that we ate out for Five of the Seven nights we stayed there, even though we were full board. The staff did not make any effort to communicate in any way even though they could speak some English, and generally seemed unhappy with there lot.
The hotel was clean but very dated. There was no information in English so we had to find out things as we went along. There was no entertainment, only the regular hosing down you got every evening if you cared to sit by the pool at 5oc, you had to laugh.
No atmosphere in the hotel so didn’t spend a lot of time there. Found great Turkish restaurant on the canal called Kerum, home cooked Turkish food. The resort was very pretty, with the mountains all around. But it was hard work to walk around as you are continually hassled, I would even say aggressively by the waiters trying to get you into the bars and places to eat.
Very off putting, and only reason not to go back to that resort. I would not go back to Fortuna beach even though the location was the best thing about it, it was right on the beach.

This is the worst Hotel I have ever been in on a holiday. Ive been to Icmeler twice before with no complaints. This is more Non-Inclusive. Food is terrible, more suited to Russian and Ukranian, not for Brits, like a Bush-tucker Trial for 2 weeks, I lost over a stone in 2 weeks, so this hotel would be ideal for a Weight-watchers club holiday. Ourselves and other British families had to eat out every day the food was so bad. Most families spent about £1000 over budget for eating out over the 2 weeks. Not even chicken nuggets and chips for kids, we wondered if the Hotel had a franchise with restaurants and Pizza delivery in the area, as delivery from them was very swift and the food they served was excellent - at our cost, why was our Hotel food not to this standard?
We questioned management and were told by them "the food is good if you want different go to another hotel." Straight from the Charm School like most of the staff.
Staff are on a go-slow, at the bar theres no whisky, brandy, only Vodks, Gin, Raki or wine and the beer isnt very good either, you could be the only person at the bar an still have to wait ages. Staff are so laid back and couldnt care. Youve paid your money so you can wait, not good enough in anyones book. They tend to run out of drinks around 10.30pm and you have to wait on the manager bringing out more from a cupboard.
The pool table is broken, the table tennis is from the ark, the air conditioning - sorry what air conditioning, we all had to buy or hire fans. You have to keep asking for Fresh Towels as they dont seem to bother, you are treated like a fool.
You are hassled everyday by staff for Turkish Bath, Shave etc. etc. they do not appear to know that No means No, very annoying.
When the cakes have all been eaten by the "greedy people" who pile up storage for the winter wolfing in like hamsters, you are told there is none left, - but I paid for this -sorry none left.
The only good thing was the sea-view, it was also a good see-view as you could see other people in the hotels around enjoying themselves and wishing you had booked into their hotel, you could also see restaurants with people eating good food and plan your evening accordingly, we met families from Liverpool, Lincoln and Fife and these restaurants made a small fortue out of us - this should not be the case if all inclusive.
I could not live with myself if I did not make other people aware of this Hotel, I would hate anyone to spend their hard earned cash and go through what we all went through in Fortuna Beach, anyone who says otherwise either has not been to a decent all inclusive before or dont know what good food is. This Hotels policy is Youve Paid your money Like it or Lump it. Pick a holiday slightly dearer or book self-catering, dont go here - dont go here - dont go here - read the list of amenities etc. it looks good on paper - words are deceiving, dont believe what you read.
We have never been so glad to get home from a holiday in our lives
