2 weeks half board, our second visit enjoyed immensley, this year we travelled to cituadella by local bus service rather than the trip organised by the hotel,a lot cheaper, we enjoyed cituadella so much we made 3 trips. My 2 boys paul 13, joseph 8 made loads of friends we now havw e. mail addrresses coming out of our ears for them to keep in contact with new friends. The hotel staff were once again helpful and very pleaseant, the reps worked their socks off for the kids. Our only concern this year was the amount of young kids being allowed to run around unsupervised and the trouble and disturbance it caused to guests, maybe a message tannoyed for parents to keep their children under control would be an idea. One more little gripe is that at the weekends the locals arrive and proceed to open the hotel gate and tramp past hotel guests this occurs on the grassed area, they are accessing the wooded area to the rear of the hotel surely the hotel grounds should be for paying guests and private, there are other access points to these woods for locals. The food, service, and all staff were superb we are about to book again for 2 weeks cant wait . My 2 boys want to say HI to; OLLY,LOUIS,MATHEWS 1+2, and all the others who made their holiday so enjoyable, also thanks to thomson for agood holiday..

Well, what can i say, but well done Thomson, we booked on a last minute deal, with allocation on arrival, but we knew it was half board and at least 3* Ww arrived at the Victoria Playa I can honestly say that we had a fantastic time, bearing in mind our children are 15 & 19. what made the holiday for us was the REPS they worked from morning until night we had 16 REPS 24/7 can you believe that, yes, 16 reps ALL DAY who worked with all kids all ages and completly took over. you could see the kids enjoyed themselves and it was a great big family holiday. Parents and kids got involved in evrything, because the REPS made you so welcome and part of evrything that went on wether it was by the pool playing games or in the evening entertainment.
The Hotel was spotless!! the rooms were cleaned every day and we were given clean towels every day our cleaner CHRISTINA was fantastic and she cleaned our room thoughly. Once again Well done you REPS for entertaining us.

Just returned from a week at the Victoria Playa with my husband and 5 year old son, What a fantastic holiday we have had, hotel clean and friendly, rooms small (but big enough for us), very clean (no TV), but personnally I don't spend all that money to watch TV. top tip - hire a fridge in the hot season - essential - safes also available to hire in rooms, Food good most nights (some odd choices) but very palatable, children buffet area - ok but not much choice (again palatable though). The facilities in the hotel are great, very safe for children of all ages, loads to do - kids clubs good and well orgainised, hotel reps were friendly, helpfully and worked really hard. My son had some swimming lessons 8euros for 1/2 hour - even for kids that can swim like mine - well worth the money. Evening enternainment was varied and quite good - drink quite expensive though.
Santo Thomas is a very quite resort a few shops but thats it, we found crazy golf in a neighbouring hotel - very good.
The beach at the hotel is fantantic even the spanish go - clean, clear water and you are able to stand waist heigh for about 100 metres - low current - although to hire a sunbed and parasol it is 16 euros for a day per bed - don't bother there are towels available to hire at hotel for 10euros each which is refundable and changed once a week and plenty of sand!!.
We have had a fantastic time and are definitley going back next year.

excellent hotel, good vareity of entertainment for children and adults. Food was excellent and as i have caeliac disease the restaurant staff were excellent and catered for any additional requirements. The staff were friendly and the pool is actually bigger than it looks on the photos. the rooms were clean and in general the hotel was. Sant Thomas is a lovely family island and would definiately recommend a visit.

return 2 weeks ,loved it again despite the drop in standards, the tree and flower beds around the pool were full of rubbish ,crisp packets , sweet wrappers, plastic drinks cups all left by guests who couldnt be bothered to carry them to the bins as they walked past them.We are a family of 4, i thought victoria player was a family hotel, whilst with my children around the pool we were subjected to the foul mouthed language from the 4 20+ year old single females who despite reminders and warnings still brought bottles of shorts to the pool area, how fitting that one of them went to the bar and fell and banged her head, myself and another family moved to another area of the pool away from them, my children love this hotel, but this year because of the unruly and unsupervised children running around, and the bullying incidents witnessed and no action taken against the families, also the behaviour and bad language from some of the parents also comments from REPS that how good the admirals bar is and how it is open until 02.00, Wonderful especially when your children are woken at this time by drunks on the landings[i wonder where there kids were]. Sorry victoria player but myself and other families wont be returning. Cockneys are spoiling the hotel also with their loud mouthed look at me mentality ..

Just back from ten days at the Victoria Playa with our daughter and 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. We had a superb time and were very impressed with the hotel. As previous reviewers state the place is immaculately clean and all the staff, both Thomson reps and hotel staff, are very friendly and helpful. All the reps seemed to love their jobs and put 100% effort into everything they did and kept the youngsters entertained throughout the day. Our granddaughter was a little too young for the kids club but still managed to find lots to do. She especially liked dancing to 'Thomson The Dog' and can now manage a very reasonable rendition of 'Star treking'! Checkout the kiddies pool before spending money on inflatable's and buckets and spades - it was the norm for people just to leave things when they went home for the next round of guests. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the amount of inflatable's in the main pool and no supervision - an accident waiting to happen. There were also 'magic tables' on each floor (where the lifts were) where people who were leaving left things like books, magazines and toys: one day there was even a beach brolley and a two-man inflatable boat! The food was faultless - I don't eat any meat but there was always plenty of alternatives. Everything was replenished frequently and was always piping hot. People who comment that there wasn't much choice, I can only presume, were those who enjoyed a 'mixed plate' of meat/fish and pasta piled high: would they eat this way at home - I don't think so! The rooms were fine - we requested a quiet room and were near the end of the corridor so didn't encounter any noise at all - but if you had noisy neighbours then I am sure it could be a problem. We also had an inter-connecting door which was brilliant. Santa Tomas is extremely quiet and it does feel a bit like 'Ground Hog' days but for a relaxing break in an extremely good hotel with a stunning beach a mere 20 metres away you couldn't do better. We used local taxis too and from the airport and it worked out cheaper than booking on-line in advance - the transfer bus arrived almost an hour later than we did!

Just returned from 2 weeks at the Victoria Playa, with ny wife, daughter and grandaughter, aged 8 nearly 9, and on the whole, couldn't find any real fault with the hotel. Our main concern was that our granddaughter would be O.K. why did I worry????? The entertainment for the kids was superb, and I have never seen so many Thomson reps catering for all ages of kids. They were fantastic. We were on a half board basis, with the choice of food being excellent, both at breakfast and in the evening.
The service in the restaurant was first class, the only suggestion I could make would be that the evening meal times should be extended to 9.30pm.
Having said that the reps were brilliant during the day, we felt that they were under great pressure to provide entertainment in the evening, and there is a limit to varieties of audience participation!!!!!!
Our granddaughter doesn't want to go anywhere else, however, and has had her various certificates laminated for display on her bedroom wall.
on a general note, when holidaymakers are overseas, it is often the case that cash machines are utilised frequently, and the only cash machine in Sant Thomas was out of action for the whole fortnight. Could the tour companies not put pressure on the bank concerned to ensure that the machine is usable, rather than having to trail to the nearby villag to use the machine there.
all in all, a superb holiday, thanks mainly to the Thomson staff and the hotel staff

We booked last minute for a break after our wedding ( honeymoon later on in Vegas) We have no children Yet!!
Beautiful clean hotel and resort, rooms basic containing dressing table & stool large mirror with power point, reasonably comfy beds ( But I can sleep anywhere!) in built wardrobe with hangers and shelving space and security deposit box, good air con unit, small balcony with table two chairs, clothes airer. The walls are very thin so it can be very noisy and you can hear everything going on on the next rooms and above. Beautiful but basic bathroom with hot powerfull shower and all the clean towels you need. No fridge in the room but you can hire one if you want.
Hotel is at the end of the resort and all bedrooms/ balconys give a sea view as far as we could tell,(we were on the 4th floor) rooms on the back of the hotel look over to the neighbouring resort of san bou and over the nature reserve and sand dunes which are very pretty. There are 3 lifts in the lobby but do get busyat peak times.
Restaurant is large and we never had a problem getting a table even at busy periods, the waiting staff are fantastic (if not a little busy). The food was generally of a good quality and we we allways found it hot. Very english menu . Very clean again.
We only stayed at the hotel on one day to sun bathe, although the managment frowns on reserving sunbeds, if your not up by 6 you have no chance of getting round the pools. There is a large grassed area with sunbeds which looks over the sea, but this also gets very busy. Its also extremely noisy around the pool as this is a family hotel the adults are easly out numbered by the children and the reps play music , arrange quizes play games and arrange stuff allday at the pool side. This is a party hotel!! for little people and parents!
Evening entertainment was also very noisy and energetic really not our cup of tea but very popular as there is plenty of seating indoors and oudoors and a large bar and childrens play areas.Their was something on each night.
There is not much else in the resort, one pub a couple of bars/ restaurants along the front and entertainment is pretty geared up for english tourists.
Only a few shops , pharmacist and doctors and a chinese restaurant. Plenty of childrens areas /parks. There is one cash machine but it was empty for 3 days which did create a bit of a problem for people, so make sure you have plenty of funds!
The beach was fantastic and it is as quick to get to the beach as it is the pool. Sunbeds on the beach if you want. The sand is very soft and clean , the sea is amazingly clear and extremely shallow and warm. We loved being in the sea more than any thing.
San Bou is a good hours walk away and does take you across the sand dunes and rocks which are very pretty, it also takes you across the nudist beach which was a funny/ interesting and sometimes slightly unpleasant experience!! once you get there the resort has alot more to offer in the way of shops and restaurants and is worth a trip. The top end of the beach nearer the resorts hotels etc was busy and people were better dressed!!
overall a very lovely resort , Incredibly clean and very pretty. Not for someone looking for the spanish experience but ideal for familys looking for a great holiday. Would not advise it as a destination for anyone looking for a lively holiday unless you enjoy tribute acts and rounders! But would quite happily go back if and when we have small people to entertain.
Got a great tan and had a wonderfull week.

Myself, my wife and 3 year old daughter have just returned from a two week holiday at the Victoria Playa.
We had a great time and would highly recommend the hotel as a family destination. There is a great range of entertainment, both in the day and evening with the reps really interacting with kids and adults alike. This was really needed as Santo Tomas is a very small resort with only a couple of restaurants and bars. There is a supermarket directly opposite the hotel which is very handy and stocks a great range of items, but beware as it is very expensive, especially for items such as nappies (approx 12 euros), baby wipes and the essentials for babies, so take as much as possible with you!!
The hotel is very near to the beach which is lovely and clean with crystal clear sea and a very shallow shelving beach. Great for paddling with small children.
During our stay our daughter had an ear infection and although this did not spoil the holiday it required us to visit the local doc. Dr Pedro, his english is excellent, but he is a private doctor and EIHC/E111 is not accepted. Two visits cost 80 euro!
The hotel is generally very clean with daily maid visits changing towels, sheets and cleaning floors etc. The rooms are basic but very clean and we had a great pool and sea view balcony which was lovely.
The food is buffet style with quite a choice which we really enjoyed and the waiters were great with our daughter.
On the whole a great place to stay if you want a hotel based holiday.

Lovely wee place and well kept always clean and tidy. The beaches are probably the main draw of this resort as there isnt much else to do there to be honest, the kids will love it though if our hotel was anything to go by as the reps seem to know how to keep them entertained. Food was as you would expect buffet style with a wee bit of recycling here and there. WARNING take plenty of cash/cheques before you go and there is only 1 bank that didnt work the whole week we were there, had to resort to getting a taxi to the next town Es Migjorn twice to get money which is a bit inconvenient!! There are only two supermarkets which i think are owned by the same people so prices are the same, there is a tobacco shop that opens morning then again at night which sell a wide range and the people that worked there were pretty friendly too. There was a pub called Halleys which was pretty central, spent most nights there for a nightcap and the staff were really friendly my son loved the place but beware the pool table! it is outside and probably works properly once in every 10 attempts but the staff are happy to come outside and fix it!
All in all a friendly wee place, weather was fab and seems pretty safe for kids, would certainly go back, but could do with a little bit more in the way of adult entertainment as there is only so much of Thomson the dog you can take!
