Aug 2007, Mr M SAUNDERS

We have just returned from the Lanzarote Bay Hotel (3 adults, one teenager) and have had a great time.
The hotel and rooms are very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, The rooms were very spacious all you would need from an apartment apart from the absence of glasses.
The pool area is nice with plenty of sun beds to go around although more of the reclining type rather than flat sun beds would have been better. The pool bar was very good and I wish that I had found out that the water was not tap water and was ice-cold before the last day!
The entertainment was very good, the Robbie Williams and Elvis 'tribute' acts were excellent as were the acrobat performers.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic, the best we have had for half or full board although the great choice made for some serious overeating!
The resort is only about ten minutes away (right and right), the beach being very clean and at the end of a long lazy day the taxi was only two and a half euros back to the hotel.
I wish we had booked two weeks!!!

We have just returned from a 1 week...

Aug 2007, Mrs T Martin

We have just returned from a 1 week all inclusive stay at the Lanzarote bay (2adults,1 child) and had a very enjoyable stay. It was the first time we have gone all inclusive and was better than expected. the resort was very clean and pool staff worked very hard in keeping all of pool area tidy, especially as some very lazy people too lazy to put rubbish in the bins so therefore blowing everywhere in the wind!
The rooms were very clean although the only fault on that front was our room door was facing pool side (block c) and the wind was banging the door all night!! Had to stuff a newspaper in door when locked it at night to get some sleep!!
The food in the restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, even our son (aged 8) ate from the normal buffet (not the kids, kids very basic) and enjoyed lots of the different foods he probably would not try.
Reception staff and all other staff very helpful and friendly. Only downfall I would say is that there is not much to do outside the hotel and hotel entertainment a little bit cheesy! So if you did not want to see evening entertainment then was only a small bar
area with outside seating for a drink etc (could do with a little bit more seating outside).
Overall very god holiday and good value for money.

We stayed for ten days in July. The accommodation was very clean and the maid service was good.
The overall food was of a high standard but could have done with more variety for younger children.
Pool was very cold and sometimes crowded. The apartment we had been in e block and was adjacent to the children’s play area which attracted all the teenagers at night which meant it could be very noisy at times; hotel staff could improve on this.
Overall though a good hotel, with friendly staff and good facilities. My rep mike was always available and friendly. My children and I had a very enjoyable holiday.
Costa Teguise is ideally placed for much that the island has to offer.

Just returned back from 10 great days...

Aug 2007, Mrs L Roper

Just returned back from 10 great days in Lanzarote. Hotel was spotlessly clean although a little dated decor wise. We went in a party of 10 which included 6 children.
We didn't see the children all day because they were having so much fun in the pool and kids clubs. Manon was the favourite with our 9 year old boys and both got upset leaving her behind. Bless!!
Food was good plenty of choice. Only complaint from the men in the group was the beer was served in small glasses!!
Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to families with young children.

Aug 2007, Mrs C Knight

Just returned today from a fantastic fortnight at this hotel. Travelled with hubby and 3 kids aged 10, 8 and 3. We all had a fantastic time.
Food, drink, entertainment and hotel staff - no complaints whatsoever. The wind took a bit of getting used to over a couple of days - the locals said it was exceptionally windy then though, and it was really refreshing.
Have to watch out for sunburn though, as you don't realise how hot it really is! The safety deposit boxes are very low on the ground at the back of a wardrobe - very secure - even we had a bit of an effort getting to it!
Out of the hotel, left and left again takes you to the shops, beach, bigger resort. Water park is literally 2 minutes away in the taxi or a 15 min walk!
Didn't explore much of the island as the kids didn't want to leave the site! They made loads of friends and just adored the on-site hotel entertainment team (Manon (fave), Kristal, Adam and Johan).
If you are going - have fun - we did!

Just arrived back after a 2 week stay...
8 / 10
Jul 2007, Mrs J English

Just arrived back after a 2 week stay at the Lanzarote Bay Hotel.
Hotel was what you would expect from a 3* All inclusive- the meals were ok, tended to be a lot of chicken and rice dishes but I was quite disappointed in the kids meals.
They were just chips, burgers, sausages, and tomato sauce with pasta. Not much offering in the way of vegetables and also the drinking glasses weren't very clean.
However, the children had a great time, the eldest was in the pool all day (freezing) or with the reps ( Manon, Sandra, Adam and Johan ) whilst they did the best they could with the resources they had for the kids club (it was pulled earlier on this year) and the youngest played on the park.
The snacks available during the day could have done with a bit of alternation - tended to be burgers, sausages and chips every day, the ice creams went down well though.
The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels were given, there were plenty of sunbeds to go round.
The entertainment at night was ok. Sometimes acts were brought in, e.g., acrobats, magicians, flamenco dancers, etc or sometimes the reps put on their own shows and they involved holiday guests - very funny.
The reps put on competitions during the day for guests such as rifle shooting, boules etc which got the guests talking to each other.
The weather was cloudy in the morning but it tended to break by lunchtime.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday, more so due the people we met than anything else.

We have just returned from the Lanzarote Bay Hotel (group of 11 in total, 6 adults & 5 children), our family consists of 2 adults and 2 children ( 4 & 1).
What a great time we have had. The hotel is immaculately clean and the rooms also. I must say the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, they could not be faulted. The rooms were very spacious all you would need from an apartment.
The only fault was the lack of hot water of an evening, we only had 4-5 mins of hot water for a shower so needless to say we had to be quick!! although this was not the case for the rooms next to and above ours.
The pool area is very nice with plenty of sunbeds to go around. The pool bar and food area was very good and handy for the kids to get a bite to eat whenever they were hungry. The play area was also great for the kids to run around in.
The entertainment on our holiday for the children was very good although the adult entertainment on our first week was awful. It was just the reps trying to entertain everyone, we only had 1 act all week.
The second week was much better with four acts entertaining which were very good. I think this was prompted by a lot of people complaining!! There were also no kids clubs until our second week with no sign of Dizzy and Shades at all. I do think this was because the reps were well understaffed but I must say they could not be faulted for their efforts.
The food in the restaurant was fantastic ! the best we have ever had abroad. The Chinese and Mexican nights are ones not to be missed. Breakfast was also very very good.
I believe the hotel is closing down at the end of the season for a refurb which in some cases are in need of some TLC mainly a lick of paint to timber work and a few repairs but the cleanliness cannot be questioned.
Overall a holiday is what you make it and we all certainly enjoyed our stay. The children even though no kids clubs loved every minute and were worn out come the evening. We would definitely go back again.

Just got back from Lanzarote Bay...
5 / 10
Jun 2007, Mr Lee Bryant

Just got back from Lanzarote Bay hotel. The food was fantastic. The drinks were good, shame they don’t do pints just silly glasses so you got to get 2 or 3 at a time or you will be up and down all night.
The pool is really good 2 pools adults and kids pool. There was 3 break ins while away 2 at 7.30am right above our room and the other at night that put me off a little bit.
The entertainment was really poor, there was lots of complaints, the staff were great there, trying their best but I think its way understaffed. Most people would leave as soon as the entertainment started on a night at 10pm, and Airtours has pulled the two kids clubs (as advertised in book) out of the hotel.
As for the weather it’s the worst place I have been for weather clouds clouds clouds.
I’ve been to quite a lot of places and the weather has been blue sky all day long, but not there.

Mar 2007, Mrs L Y Smith

We went as a family of four: Two adults, a two and a half year old and a one year old. The apartments were what you expect from a 3 star hotel and a maid service is provided 6 times a week.
The reception staff and all the people who worked on site were very friendly and never seemed put out by any request. There was plenty of choice as far as the food was concerned with practically something for everyone, so caters roughly for all. If you have kids then you will be pleased with the kids club reps, Adam (very good), Johan (very good) and Maribel (exceptional).Kids disco every night and games throughout the day around the pool.
Entertainment on a whole was good. Town was about a twenty minute walk but if you are feeling lazy or are less able a courtesy bus is laid on. Overall, a nice holiday. Would happily go back

Booked this 1week break at 2 weeks...

Mar 2007, Mr T Williams

Booked this 1week break at 2 weeks notice, paid £1050 for 2 adults and 2 kids including flights from luton. Read some mixed reports but thought what the hell!
Arrived to be pleasantly surprised, found hotel to be clean, staff very helpful etc. Room was fine, although no air con may be an issue in the summer, but was fine for us.
Food was plentiful if a little limited and repetitive, but for the price I paid more than acceptable. If anyone wants to get a £3000 holiday for £1000 then they deserve to be disappointed. Weather was 21-22 degrees all week; kids enjoyed the entertainment and bingo etc. On checking out, there was a luggage room and staff fixed us up with a room for half hour to refresh before leaving. Would go again.

We stayed at the Lanzarote Bay for...
9 / 10
Mar 2007, Miss R Attenborough

We stayed at the Lanzarote Bay for one week in March this year. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 8 and 13). What a fantastic time!
On arrival we were given our room key and to be honest I wasn’t keen on this room as it over looked a small car park, I went back to reception and explained that we would prefer something in the ground floor over looking the pool, the receptionist was only too pleased to help and changed our room immediately with no problem.
We were given a nice room in block B. our terrace over looked the kid’s play area, which was fantastic as we could always see the kid’s when we were in the room. There were excellent kid’s reps on site (Marybelle especially) whom were all fantastic and had the patience of saints!
The food in the hotel was good for a 3 star hotel, plenty of choice, we had no complaints. We found all the staff to be very friendly. The only thing i can have a moan about is the pool, it’s freezing! But the kid’s didn’t seem to notice too much!
We don’t usually go back to the same places, but if we were looking for somewhere where we knew what we were getting I would definitely go back. The hotel itself is a ten minute walk from the shops and sea front (its a pound in a taxi for the lazier of us!). A good family hotel, great if you have kids.
