Jul 2008, Mrs L Taylor

We stayed June 08 - absolutely lovely place !! The complex had just been refurbed and is absolutely spot on! The staff are all friendly and really helpfull, rooms are spacious and clean maids do a wonderfull job, food was great even with a fussy 2 year old ! Only thing I would change is the pools they were freezing esp in the morning but a lot of foreign ones are and they warm up during the day ! Cant comment on the entertainment as with a toddler by the time it was all starting ours were ready for bed ! We had a fab time and would def go back again ! its very worthy of the 3 star rating I think next year they will re brand this as a 4 star. Get their while you can still afford it ! enjoy !!!

Jun 2008, Mr A DAVIES

just back 27june, this has got to be one of the best places i have ever stayed. on arrival staff at reception were excellent, very friendly and spoke perfect english, were shown how to get to our room by one of the cleaners, very helpful.
after dropping cases in room made our way to restraunt, bearing in mind it is 9.30 at night and not expecting a cooked meal, imagine our supprise when what greets us looks like a banquet. this standard of food continued for the duration of our stay, this also applies to the pool bar excellent.
at the bar it was not like other all inc where it is one drink per person you could have whatever you liked, and the barstaff did not mind serving you with it,they were always helpful and had plenty of time for everyone .
the rooms were all new an absolutly spotlessly clean. cleaners done a very good job.
i would have given the hotel the overall rating of ten but the pool was absolutely freezing so we only went in it once the entire week. that is why my rating has dropped to a nine.
the hotel should be not classed as 4 star, it is definetaly worthy of 5 stars. i shall be returning to this hotel again and again in the future it was that good.
if you do go to lanzarote you must go and hire a car and explore the island the sights are like nothing i have ever seen before, the places we visited were absolutely breathtaking.

We visited the hotel when it re...

Jun 2008, Mrs C CARPENTER

We visited the hotel when it re opened in June after re furbishment. Although the hotel was still not finished we were not disturbed at all by any building work going on which was our main concern. Our first impressions when we entered the receiption was clean, well maintained and the staff were more then helpful and spoke fluent english. The apartment was lovely, clean, the furnishings were all new and very modern. Our rooms were cleaned 6 days and fresh towels and toiletries. The catering was absolutely 1st class, there was so much choice at breakfast, lunch and tea and they even catered up to midnight fro a snack. The bar staff were also fantastic and although some of the amenities were not available, ie the gym, laundry room this did not spoil our holiday at all. The entertainment staff were also eager to please and not only encouraged the children to join in but also the adults and they made it real fun. Both myself and my husband and our party who we travelled with would absolutely re visit again and we feel we got our moneys worth from this resort. 10/10 fantastic

Feb 2008, Mr E Smith

Had a fantastic first week in may 2007, but unfortunatly my wife had a stroke whilst dining on the 4th
However the head waiter, Raphael picked up my wife and drove her to the general hospital within 15 mins and I am pleased to say she is recovering quite well as a result of his assistance.
So remember, whenever you think you are having a problem with the food, entertainment or any other niggle ,- there are people just like Raphael to help. He was my wife`s "guardian angel" that night for sure.

An excellent holiday was had by us...
8 / 10
Nov 2007, Mrs A Reeves

An excellent holiday was had by us all (2 adults/2 children).
Room was very clean and we only seen a cockroach once outside our door. We were in block A (room 101) and it was great to be near the pool and dining area, but could be bit noisy at night with all the guests going back to rooms, but so what you’re on your hols! And you can catch up on any sleep next day at the pool.
Lots for kids to do, although mine preferred to stay in the pool most of the time, real water babes. We met lovely people from Bristol. We only stayed for 1 week but going back next year for 10 days.
Food was good, we never had a night were we didn’t get something that we all liked to eat, plenty of drinks and ice cream for kids... great.
Can’t wait till next year.

Oct 2007, Mrs J Mackie

Had a great time here. Our party was 4 adults and my 1-year-old daughter. No complaints at all.
All the staff were really friendly. We went all-inclusive; the food was good sometimes, nothing that I would have ordered myself but still always something I liked.
Pool was so cold but that’s what you want when its so hot! The pool area could do with a bit of a facelift however it’s nothing that would spoil the holiday. Could do with more bar staff usually only 1 person serving day and night but still no long queues.
Didn’t see much of the entertainment as was with baby so in early each night but other people there seemed to enjoy.
Only reason not giving the holiday 10/10 is due to the games played in the pool everyday. Volleyball etc took up the whole area except the shallow end which was full of kiddies.
All in all had a fab time and would definitely go back!

Oct 2007, Miss M Clarke

I stayed at the Lanzarote bay in May this year with my four year old daughter. It was brilliant.
Rooms were excellent very spacious, only saw 2 cockroaches. Hotel was lovely, staff were very friendly and helpful. All inclusive food was very good, never had to go hungry.
Entertainment was ok, the usual for most hotels. Never had any trouble getting sunbeds round the pool.
All in all the holiday was brilliant, would defo return to this hotel again in the near future.

The place needs to be knocked down...
1 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs J Prior

The place needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. The rooms are shabby, no air con, and had the usual problem with cockroaches but then also encountered worms! Yes worms, coming through the toilet and the bath piping and then an infestation of ants.
Their choice of food available for young children consisted of sausage i.e. (frankfurters), burger and chips and nothing else. All drink even the Fanta orange from the bars are all watered down. Main restaurant had more choice but most things repeated after 3 days.
The pool area is most noticeably in need of a face left - paint peeling from the floor etc.
Don’t even ask about the entertainment you will probably get better at a local labour club.
I would normally say stay clear of this hotel but I have been informed by the rep that this hotel is due to close in October for a full refurbishment - it would have been nice for Airtours to inform us of this before we went.
If you are going to Costa Teguise there are plenty of lovely hotels based in the Los Charcos beach area.

Just got back from the Lanzarote bay...
5 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr Brown

Just got back from the Lanzarote bay aparthotel in Costa Teguise, this is the first review I have ever wrote and I am not a typical whining brit, the hotel room was clean but could do with a revamp which I did hear was going to happen at the end of this season...! we spoke to some people who told us that worms came out of the tiles whilst showering and that they were infested with cock roaches, we never saw any apart from a few dead ones that the ants quickly ate, quite a lot of gecko lizards running about but not a problem. The pools weren’t a bad size but very very cold and full of leafs that blew off the trees also very slippery and not child friendly at all, pool flooring got very hot in the sun and had to go everywhere in flip flops, also very sticky from the amount of drinks spilled on the floor out of those silly plastic cups that they gave you your half measured drinks in. Steps quite steep around site and slippery, a guy we met out there fell down them and broke his leg and spent three days in hospital, when he arrived back on crutches he slipped on the pool area floor and knocked himself unconscious straight back to hospital. The food was edible but very repetitive, meat was very nice and the stews were pretty good, no English sausage or bacon, sausages were hot dogs and the bacon was wafer thin and nearly all fat, bread was usually stale. Entertainment was rubbish, although if you want to travel thousands of miles to play bingo you will be ok...! The children’s entertainment area was jam packed full every night and no were near enough room or seats for the amount of guest staying there, the steps down to the kids area were very steep and made out of solid marble so if you or your children fell down them the consequences wouldn’t be worth thinking about. The Lanzarote bay aparthotel is like a pontins holiday camp, very noisy, with drunk and unruly adults and children alike, would not go back if it was free. Costa Teguise is a fantastic place and I have been twice previously if you want a good holiday with fantastic food and drink I would recommend los Zocos near the Cucharas beach and shopping centre it was brilliant...!

Just arrived back from Lanzarote Bay...
9 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs E Abbott

Just arrived back from Lanzarote Bay ( 2adults, 2 children 9 & 5 ) had a fantastic time.
All staff were extremely friendly nothing was too much trouble.
Food very good, lots to choose from, kids food a little disappointing but they got stuck into the main buffet and tried lots of different things.
Rooms very clean ( room 208 block A ) maids service 6 days a week clean towels every other day, had a slight problem with cockroaches, we asked reception what was the best thing to do they told us to put a wet towel in a corner and they will (or should) go to that corner!
We never saw any after that, the maids then sprayed our room with cockroach spray everyday!
Pool area in need of a face lift, but still nice, lots of sunbeds to go around (but we still put our towels down!!) pool VERY cold , once you’re in its lovely ( so the kids said!) .Kids club didn’t really appeal to our children my 9 year old was never out of the pool, and my 5 year old is a bit shy, she joined in the club dance( we all did!!!)
Entertainment a bit boring some were really good but not many. Bingo was fun ( "put your hands up in the air!") kids enjoyed it though, we just drank!
We went on the Rancho Texas night booked by our rep, fantastic night out a real good laugh, kids really enjoyed it. Lots of food and free flowing beer and sangria! We also did the south tour, excellent too. Beach is lovely well worth a visit (right & right).
A brilliant holiday we met some lovely people, good value for money.

This hotel was in desperate need of...
7 / 10
Aug 2007, Miss J Slingsby

This hotel was in desperate need of an update! Window in our bathroom was broken; it was off its hinges!
Rooms were a good size! We stayed in Block E room 320; we asked for a pool view on the ground floor and got a view of the tennis courts and a busy round and on the top floor!
The entertainment was ok, there was a club provided by the hotel during the day for children up to 11 years old and a club for teenagers 'Teenies'. Manon who ran the 'Teenies' was amazing!
All of the entertainers, Manon, Sandra, Johan, Adam, and Kristel, were polite, great fun and good to talk 2. The only downside to the entertainment was that some of the professional shows they had in on the evenings could do with more practice!
The food in the hotel was ok, but repetitive.
Some staff were nice but occasionally they weren't. At the pool bar, my daughter went up 2 get 3 drinks and the bar man would only let her get 1 drink but yet this hadn't been a problem any other day during our stay!
The pool was freezing when you first got in but it soon warmed up! As for the lifeguard...your children weren't being watched believe me! One of them was always on his phone, throwing children in, talking to the Spanish people and eating!
During the day the floor around the pool area became so hot, you couldn't even walk to the pool without flip flops on! It also became very slippery where children had been running around wet.
