I have just came back from the GRAND ADEJE HOTEL ( 15 - 22/09/08 ) I have to say after reading all the other comments about this hotel, the entrance to the hotel is wow & i mean the wow factor, the staff & i mean completely all the staff are very polite & nice to you, they will do anything when asked, the room are very big & clean, the foos was all way's hot with prenty of choice, the roof top pool is the best i've come across, i can only say nice things about this hotel & will be going back to this hotel, i do think the hotel has took on board about the bad points & have 100% fixed or worked on the issues, a fantastic hotel over all honestly.

Just returned from a weeks holiday and we had a great time. The hotel is just lovely, the grounds are very spacious and although the hotel was full you had the feeling that there were not too many people around when you went for a walk around the grounds.
We loved the kids club my 7 year old went every day, 10.30 - 13.00 and 15.00 -17.00. Age group 4 - 12 years, they were signed in in the morning and we were asked if they were allowed to return to us on their own if not they were kept at the club until someone came to pick them up, the doors were closed but not locked, it was completely self contained with their own indoor area where they had various arts and crafts, but most of the activities where outdoors, where they played table tennis, football, and had a sand pit, separate outdoor pool area for the children the water being knee deep for my 7 year old. They played games during the day for which they were awarded medals and certificates for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place at the mini disco in the evening and then the usual dancing and a visit from Smiley the resident cuddly dog.
She was happy during the day and we were able to relax around the smaller and quieter outdoor heated pool.
We ate in the buffet dinning room the food was excellent., we could have eaten in the A La Carte restaurants for a supplement but thought they were too stuffy for children and did not even have a childrens menu.
The evening entertainment was OK the usual mixture of good and bad, funny and maybe funny when it should not have been!
The hotel is in a great location, turn left outside the front of the hotel and there are all the designer shops and turn right and its the usual tacky nick nacks. head out the back door and you have a lovely walk along the sea front.
All in all a fabulous holiday we would most certainly return but would upgrade on the room, the only fault I could find, the rooms were small with 3 beds all pushed together, but nevertheless it did not spoil anything. The staff are excellent went the extra mile and with a smile.

Do not believe everything that you read !!!! This was our fourth Easter holiday at this hotel since 2005 and along with friends, think it is great for families. OK when you spend £6000 on a holiday do you really expect to get a beer for 1 euro? I don't think so. Every year things get better around the hotel and gardens and there are not many hotels which that could be said about. Even with a steep hike in prices caused by the pound / euro exchange we will be back next Easter. Hasta el próximo año.

This hotel is fabulous! You are treated like a king/queen here.
The food is lovely.At breakfast a wide range of english food is served.All cooked to a high standard.At dinner,many foods are served,mainly english.Very tasty indeed.They have wide selection of cakes and ice cream for the kids!
The pools are amazing.The salt water pool can be very cold so I recommend that you go in the pool with the flower in the middle.At both pools there are bars selling drinks and ice-creams.The waiters will deliver your drinks straight to your loungers.
The rooms are spectacular.So clean and cosy. All rooms have a view of the sea,which is a lovely site to see!The bathrooms are filled with clean towels and toiletries every day.The maids do a wonderful job cleaning the room.
Overall,this hotel is great for families and people without children.Anyone who says this hotel is rubbish must be blind!!!! I strongly recommened this hotel and we will be visting it for the 7th time in may.

Pretty miserable holiday. This hotel is very pricey and was rubbish.

We got food poisoning. Staff unhelpful. Pool drained - great fun for our kids who like swimming! Room had broken air con and a broken door but no one fixed it. Toiletries were not replaced in our room, try making your wafer of soap last!
<br>
Huge building site next door which starts very early, so much for rest and relaxation! Very expensive soft drinks, about £3 for a cup of soda! Kids club pretty poor. Time-share touts everywhere and they are aggressive.
<br>
All in all I will never go back, think twice before booking.

Loved the hotel got a shock when I jumped in the lovely big main pool to find it was salt water! Nice relaxing atmosphere within hotel and grounds leisure staff fab all staff good with kids. Restaurant ok got a bit boring staff in restaurant more helpful if you are Spanish or Italian! Would go back in an instant if the price came down slightly! Lots of places to eat out would recommend it!!

This was an expensive hotel (£6000 for two weeks) for 4. It fell far short of our expectations. There is a huge and noisy building site next door, which starts at 7am and goes on to 7pm. No sea view from our room. No bathrobes or welcome bowl of fruit. Broken air con, broken patio furniture, broken TV remote, broken sink plug, broken exterior light etc etc we did report the problems it took nine days to remove the broken patio chair and it was never replaced and none of the other problems were fixed.
<br><br>
Unlike the brochure picture we had two single beds pushed apart. The beds have wheels and the floors are tiled so they don’t push together (very romantic!) we did buy string to tie the legs together but the chambermaid cut it off each day. It was rather like a carry on film! Our son got food poisoning and he only ate in the hotel. Avoid the casseroles, they sit for hours under lights and look a bit dubious. Some of the food was good some a bit strange; one morning there was a bowl of grey brussels sprouts on the breakfast buffet!! Obviously left over from the night before.
<br><br>
The hotel does provide clean sheets if you are ill but it is up to you to change your beds and the soiled sheets will lie for several hours outside your room. There are complimentary toiletries but once you have used them they are not replaced. Do bring your own shampoo the dispenser in the bathroom doesn’t work. DO NOT leave children unattended in the shower, the temperature of the water fluctuates wildly and my husband fell when he jumped out of a burning hot stream of water.
<br><br>
You will have to reserve sun beds by getting up at the crack of dawn, everyone else does and it’s the only way to ensure that you can sit next to your partner. Do check that your sunbed isn’t broken before reserving it. Also some of the cushions are covered in mildew. The main pool was drained for part of our holiday (we were there at peak time), which put the small pool under a lot of strain. It was a lovely little pool but got extremely crowded and noisy. Kid’s club ok for 4-7 years but not a lot for older children. My nine year old was very bored as were loads of other kids who tended to hang around with nothing to do. A plastic cup of cola at the pool bar was a whopping 4.50 euros (£3!!) which wasn’t very child friendly!
<br>
Good luck in getting a late check out room, we tried on the day we arrived but couldn’t get one even though we offered to pay. Our room was still empty when we left, hours after we had vacated it. They did give us a room to shower in but it had a used bar of soap and a pile of soaking towels. It’s the little touches like that that really set this hotel apart from other hotels in this price bracket!! Do check the secure room where they will look after your luggage when you have checked out. Our luggage was left lying by the front entrance for several hours and anyone could have helped themselves.
<br>
It’s not a dreadful hotel but compared to other hotels in this price bracket it’s pretty poor. Shop around, there are lots of other great hotels out there for the same money or less. I know I’ve stayed in them!! If you are looking for a great chain of family friendly, good quality hotels look at Grecotel and give Iberostar a miss. I won’t ever go back to Tenerife or stay in another Iberostar hotel.

This hotel truely is fabulous, especially for families.
The accommodation is good, rooms are very clean and of a good size, all with a nice balcony. If you have a room on the ground floor, the terraces have a little gate, which makes them ideal for people with disabilities and for families with buggies and pushchairs.
The food is one of the best things about this hotel, breakfast and evening meal are both buffet style, but with more choice than you could possibly imagine. Half board is definitely recommended, again, especially for those with children as there will always be something that children will like.
The kids club was fabulous, a gated area with large sandpit, containing big slide, little house and other toys, a children’s pool and an actual kids club building, parents could sit around the pool with their children watching them play, or leave them with the excellent staff who looked after them fabulously.
There are two other pools for grown ups, one heated and one huge salt-water pool, both with bars. Evening entertainment was good.
Overall I would say a fabulous hotel, if you don’t have children then I would recommend the Hotel Gran Tacande next door! Both hotels are great, but if you don’t have children, then the Tacande has the edge!
