My wife and I went to the Park, not knowing what to expect. I am very happy to say that it exceeded our expectations in all departments. If you want a hotel with great sea views, with only a 10 minute walk to the lovely town of Rovinj (no hills), choose the Park. The food... more

Rovinj is a beautiful town. It is dominated by the ancient church set on a hill overlooking the quaint harbour. The streets in the old town are narrow and very picturesque. There are numerous, good, eating establishments and the cost is very reasonable. It also has a good... more

Highly recommended
Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - it has a touch of class, the staff are extremely friendly and the sea views are out of this world. Some may find the Park a bit on the big side, and it's true meal times can be a bit of a scrum in high season, but everything works really well and it would certainly rank very high on my all-time list of favourites. Don't hesitate to book this one!
Fantastic place
I can't add anything extra to what has already been said. Hotel facilities are great (although the room is a little small - watch you don't get bruises from the minibar!) the food in the restaurant is fantastic. Normally when we go half board we still eat out in the evenings quite a lot, but we really didn't want to. There are two pools but the beds around the main pool do get taken quite early (well, with towels anyway...). Happy hour in the bar from 5.30 - 6.30 every night, so the £2.50 cocktails are even better value! Rovinj itself is a gorgeous place. We had such a lazy time just sitting at seafront bars watching boats zip past. Tripwise we did the day excursion to Venice, which if you've never been before is worth it, but if you have been, I wouldn't bother as it's over 3 hours there and back. We also did the Barendine Caves and a wine tasting up at a lovely local vineyard. Sit on the rocks at Monte Carlo with a cocktail and watch crabs fighting, have the fish platter for two at Lampo (4 fish, 2 squid, 2 scampi and some mussels!), go to Bacchus and try and drink through the wine menu (Istrian wine is lovely - we went to Dubrovnik a couple of years ago and the quality there was inferior). All in all a fantastic holiday and I wish I was back there now!
excellant
reviews of this hotel do not disapoint, excellant location, great service ,good food. stayed there in a heatwave and was grateful for the air con. Do not normally dine in hotels but the food was of high quality. only downside was selfish guests who leave towels on sunbeds all day so theres nowhere to relax when you come back to the hotel in the afternoon.
simply beautiful
stayed at park hotel rovinj for a week in June. Beautiful little town and the Park Hotel was excellent. We had a sea view room with marvellous views over the bay and marina. Would recommend it to anyone. Rovinj is gorgeous.
Great Views and Rooms
We stayed here 8th June 2006 and would like to have stayed longer than one night but the hotel was fully booked after that - so book ahead in summer! We had a high end suite with 3 balconies and great views of marina and Rovinj - we were lucky as this was the only room they had and we got it for 44 Euros each B & B - well worth every penny! The hotel is very clean and tastefully decorated. The pool area is very comfortable too. A good breakfast with an assortment of food for all tastes. For cheap drinks and coffees drink where the locals go in the bars around the bus station area. We would definately go back to the Park Hotel again.
Excellent holiday!
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel at the end of May and had a wonderful time! The hotel was lovely, great atmosphere and the rooms were lovely and clean - just make sure you get a room which overlooks the water - we had booked a sea view room and were given one facing a brick wall. (!!!!)..however, on request, we were given a different room straight away which was much better and was overlooking the town - it really is worth it to complain if you aren't happy!! The hotel is 3* ...and you definately wouldn't get such good quality in an English 3*! The bar especially was great in the evenings and we often sat out with a cocktail or hot chocolate overlooking the marina! The food in the hotel was also very good - and even for me, who doesn't eat meat, a great choice. This hotel could not be better situated - overlooking the marina for a start, which is beautiful. Turn left out of the hotel and you are straight into the National Park, and turn right, and you are a 10 minute stroll into town. I must recommend the little pizzaria under the hotel - I had a lovely pasta lunch for £3! We are a young couple in our early twenties and we were worried about being bored - but there was plenty for us to do. To be honest, I was quite relieved to find that the average age of the Rovinj vistor was 60+ and it just made the atmosphere just a little more sophisticared and cultured - no English pubs here!! If I could go on a Saga holiday, I would... :) Other things you should definately do whilst you're there.... - we hired bikes from under the hotel for £3 for two hours and went into the National Park - hired a pedallo and went out into the sea - you can also hire a motor boat for a very reasonable price. - glass bottom boat ride around the local islands - Bar Valentino - sit on cushions, drink cocktails and watch the sun go down! - walk round the Artist Quarter to the top of the town All in all, a great holiday - lovely hotel, perfectly situated. I would definately go back!!!
Wonderful stay in Rovinj
Very good hotel with excellent facilities. We had a seaview room which was worth the extra as we had a wionderful view of Rovinj old town. A truly fantastic 2 weeks. I would definitely recommend Puntalina for wondeful seafood watching the sunset with excellent friendly service, you almost feel like you've been invited round for dinner!! You can also go for cocktails on the downstairs cocktail bar on the rocks. Also Bacchus is an excellent wine shop/winebar. Paolo will guide you through the wonderful wines of Croatia with both knowledge and passion.
Very Good Hotel overlooking the Marina
I stayed here for 5 days at the end of May 2006 on 1/2 board. This is a very good hotel indeed. Reception was prompt and efficient, there are 3 large lifts. The rooms are large enough with well above average storage space and all have air conditioning and a mini-bar plus 40 channel TV. Some have baths which are half size - you can get in them but your knees are under your chin! The meals were excellent, breakfast was cereals, youhurts, cheeses and meats, fruit salad, lots of different bread and cooked bacon, eggs and sausages. Coffee not marvellous and take you own tea bags if you like your tea English strength! Dinner was also good; 2 soups, a wide choice of cold salad starters, 3 meats and one fish for main course plus risotto or paella and a vegetarian option and pizza or quiche and ice cream etc for afters. High spot was loads of fresh vegetables- an unknown sight in most of Europe! There is a children's club which wasn't being used while I was there but the listed activities should keep most people 's children happy Only downsides are the local practice which means that cooked food is served lukewarm on cold plates. Our courier said that that is the way it is done in Croatia and I guess it wouldn't matter when the temp is +40, which it is in the Summer. While I was there an international sailing regatta was taking place and the hotel was 100% full. I had booked a seaview toom and wasn't given one and the one I did get overlooked the Sailing Club HQ where there was disco every night until midnight - disaster! They may only have one at weekends under normal circumstances but I strongly recommend that one avoids the rooms at the South end of the hotel ie the ones at the end away from Rovinj town
a beautiful area
I would recommend rovinj to anybody over 30. The Park hotel was clean and comfortable and the food was generally good. We didn't have a sea view which I now regret because the view from the bar of the town was breathtaking. I recommend hiring a Bike (less than £5 for about 6 hours) as there is a dedicated cycle path that goes for miles down the coast with some really gorgeous coastline. All the staff at the hotel spoke english and were very friendly and happy hour at the bar was nice and cheap with a good range of cocktails. My wife and I would definately go again.
Some staff need re-training (Maid and Reception)
Okay, but a lot of problems ... We have just returned from The Park Hotel in Rovinj, Hrvatska. Everything about the hotel was not all too good. The food was below average, however, the rooms are very clean. Some staff need re-training. One maid kept waking up my Wife at 6.45am for 3 days until she told her to stop it. Stunning balcony view 10/10, cannot fault it - it is a picture postcard scene. We booked the very last trip to Venice - Italy and asked for a very early morning call, it did not arrive, divine church bells woke us up around 7.00am "god bless you - the person who rang the bells that morning, you are a saint". The early morning call was for 6.15am, sadly, somebody else got our phone-call, I bet they were not amused. Because of this stupidity, we missed our early morning breakfast, packed lunch and we had to run to the bus waiting for us at the pick up point for 7.10am. 10 minutes to get there, if you are elderly, then you can forget it. We wanted to go on other early morning trips, but we could not trust reception again, so we left it out. We had a fantastic front view over the marina which was very quiet and peaceful. I slept very well. Wife not. Bed comfortable, some staff very helpful and extremely friendly, some not. Evening entertainment, great if you can understand German. Overall - Great place, will not go back....
