Balcons du Savoy Apartments

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment in this hotel earlier this August. We found this establishment to be clean, friendly and well run. The apartment was spacious with good bedrooms, bathroom and well equipped (but small) kitchen. Note that the laundry is shared & in the basement). The view and balcony area were a big plus - if you are lucky with the weather that is. (It rained every day we were there). My first stay at Les Balcons du Savoy - I have alrerady booked for next year. I have been skiing Europe for over 15 years. We have now stayed 5 times at Les Balcons Du Savoy in Chamonix. You'd be very hard-pressed to find better apartments for Skiing in any resort for 2 adults and 2 children. The apartments have everything you need for a self-catering break and are generally clean with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc from every apartment. There was only one negative on cleanliness, the kitchen sink could be cleaner - needs a proper bleaching. What a wonderful holiday we had in Chamonix all helped by the perfect accommodation at Les Balcons Du Savoy! We were looking for a relaxing break with peace and quiet in perfect surroundings! These self contained apartments with the most amazing views of the Masif du Mont Blanc were superb! We spent one week at the Balcon du Savoy. We booked a two bedroom apartment for the four of us- 2 adults and 2 children. On their website the photos of this apartment looked lovely but in reality this was not the case. The apartment was not even very clean and the service was disappointing. We will definately not be returning here again to ski.

We booked this accomodation based on tripadvisor reviews. We were all delighted with the standard of the apartment and the charming, friendly staff. The finish and cleanliness of the whole building was excellent. We plan to go back for another family holiday.

We stayed at these apartments for four nights. I have had some mixed experiences with "ski" accomodation but Les Balcons Du Savoy erased all that with it's excellence! There are about 50 self contained apartments in two buildings, with the layout meaning that all apartments have a view over the Mont Blanc range. It is at the quieter end of town meaning nice peaceful evenings, but is only 5 mins walk away from the town centre. This is a fantastic self contained apartment complex. It's ski-in ski-out to the beginners' area, 5 minutes walk to the bus stop, and 10 minutes walk to the town. Staff were very helpful, and the apartments were beautifully furnished and very spacious. The studio apartment had more than enough room for two people. The complex also contains a swimming pool - perfect for stretching the legs after skiing. Our only complaint was the sheets, which seemed a little old and the lack of a proper double bed in our studio apartment.

Our family of 5 has been coming to Les Balcons du Savoy from USA since 1994. For a family this is great. You have full kitchens in each apartment, so, unlike a hotel, you can quickly have what you want to eat at breakfast and lunch (though lunch on the slopes is best) and save room for dining out in the evening. It's right on the Champs du Savoy so you can ski up to Brevent easily. It's only a few minutes to the center of town. You can catch buses to the telecabine to Brevent and the town center from right outside, or to Flegere, Argentiere... more

Fantastic location 5 minutes from the centre of town but not noisy because it is on a lovely, quiet street overlooking the Savoy snow field and with a clear view of the beautiful Mont Blanc range. Great service, runs like a hotel if you want but with the flexibility of being self catering. Very civilised. Loved it.
