Wow, Whistler, what a great resort for the outdoors enthusiast.
Had a great time walking White water Rafting and bear spotting to mention just a couple But there was lots to do and all in a mainly pedestrionised resort. Although I found a bar or two that had a family friendly area there was more that wasn’t than was.
The Ski resort in the summer months turns into a mountain bike, board heaven although still able to ski at the top of Whistler mountain in mid July but I can see this could be a fantastic place to visit for a ski holiday too.
Would recommend the area and the Holiday inn I stayed there and the room was a suite with max occupancy of 6 but could of easily and comfortably sleep 8. And with this in mind I thought the rate was good value for money.

A medium quality hotel within about 10 minutes walk from the Whistler ski lifts.
The room was spacious and warm, with a double bed, lovely gas fire, table& chairs, TV, kettle, toaster, microwave and hob.
Any complaints about the hotel were about the incredible thin walls and the noisy neighbours who were more into après ski than ski.
The hotel hot tub was a bit of a bind to get to from A wing, having to go outside to get to it, but very warm once you got there. Our room maid was really helpful, although their timings were rather erratic.
Outside the hotel on the doorstep was a Starbucks, cinema, steak grill, Mongolian grill and a fantastic reflexology and foot spa centre - well worth a visit.
Over all Whistler was amazing and the Skiing was so much better and more relaxing than Europe. Despite the long flight and jet lag I'd definitely recommend it.

Wow, yes when entering our room that was the words we all used, had booked a suite for a family stop on our little tour of the west side of Canada. Needless to say we weren't disappointed either.
Although the room stated max 6 persons it would of easily accommodated 8 we had two bedrooms with double beds and in the living room was a sofa bed and a pull down wardrobe style bed so plenty of room for six. There was also use of a full kitchen facility and a well proportioned and layed out bathroom. All in good clean and comfortable order.
Although there was a spa to use there wasn't a pool which was a little disappointing the kids was looking forward to a swim or two and it also had a gym for a workout if required. But i am sure a work out wont be, but a work down then maybe as there are loads of activities to do in Whistler that it may of been hard to make time for a pool.
The hotel itself didn't appear to have a restaurant but in the room was a full "Whats On" leaflet and it appears as Whistler is a small compact town many restaurants will do a delivery service if you didn't want to go out or stay in and cook.
The town is mainly a pedestrianised area with many restaurants bars etc all in a small walkable 2mins form your hotel front door. I'd would however recommend the Saturday evening bbq at the top of Mount Whistler for the extra $10 on top of the normal Gondola cost this was great so much to eat an all u can eat style with the 3 courses plus soft drinks and coffees ..bargain fill u up and quality too.
This is one place hotel and town that i would like to go back and pay a visit to once again whether this is in summer as we did or in winter to try my hand at skiing or snowboarding. saying that even in mid July the top of the mountain still had some snow but enough for the ski enthusiast i think probably not, but summer appears to be mountain biking skateboarding and hiking season along with white water rafting which we tried as a family for the first time, recommend it too.
All in all a place to go.
