First time to Bulgaria and first skiing trip for myself, this hotel was small but personal and we were extremely happy with the service, food, location and nearly all aspects.
Morning breakfast consists of cereal, toast and/ or basic cooked breakfast (beans, eggs, meat, toast). A mini bus is then run by the proprietors from the hotel to the front of the Gondola station. The same collects again at set points in the afternoon, although the hotel is only a 25 min walk from the centre anyway.
The rooms are very clean and always warm as you like, with good views from the top floor balconey. Evening meals are provided from your choice made in the morning, usually a red meat, white meat and vegetarian option with soup and a small dessert. Bar is also available but plenty of small shops/markets within a couple of minutes walk.
Most of the staff speak enough English to manage, and were happy to provide little extras like needle and thread when I split my trousers! We attended through Neilson (Thomas Cook) and there was rep in the hotel most days whom we didn't need to use but appeared efficient and spoke good English.
The hotel is in the old part of town down a back road therefore you get less passing traffic from late night apres-ski.
If I was pressed and had to include a negative, it would be the barking from the old dog kept in the next door yard who did wake me up on a few occasions. However stray and pet dogs seem to be a necessity in Bulgaria and you would not escape this wherever you stayed.
The weekends were the busiest on the Gondolas and slopes, but even at its peak (non school holiday season) we waited no more than twenty minutes to get on board.
There is a small sauna free to use which will accomodate two people at a time and was welcomed certainly by the other half for achey muscles at the end of the day.
Overall very good value for money, I have stayed in three star hotels in England not as good as this two star.
