Central Hotel

My partner and I recently stayed at Hotel central, Saalbach and were very happy with this accomodation. We were looking for a budget skiing holiday and were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel was clean and modern and the double bed was spacious and comfy. Our rooms were cleaned every morning with clean towels. The bathroom was also very clean and an adequate size. The balcony looked out onto the slopes which was an added bonus. The buffet breakfast was basic but very satisfactory.
The Hotel's location was also very good. The nearest gondala lift was a 2 minute walk and there were other lifts close by. There were many resturants and bars close by ranging from italian to mexican. The bar beneath the hotel did play music but didnt go on too late and never kept either of us awake. Right next door to the hotel is a ski rental shop called Snow Academy which is very convienient. However we prebooked our equipment prior to arrival through Sport Hagleitner which was an excellent service and also very close by.
The only down side to this resort was the fact that it is very expensive to eat and drink. An average meal for 2 including starters came to around £50 but portion sizes were big. The food and drink on the slopes was also very expensive but this did not spoil our holiday as the quality, variety and sheer multitude of slopes outweighed any negative points.
Lastly, if you stay in saalbach and get an opportunity to go on the Horse Sleigh Ride through the hills and fields, we would highly reccommend it! It was extrememly picturesque and a great experience.
Overall, we would reccommend the resort and the Hotel Central to all! Despite being basic and only 3* our stay in the Hotel Central was far better than we could have anticipated.
