Hotel Tyrol - The Pits !!

What a dissapointment this hotel was.
The rooms are so grim! My "twin" was so tiny it barely fitted 2 beds. The room was extemely dirty with threadbare linen on the beds. There was only one wardrobe with barely enough room for one person's clothes (let alone two). The shower room was so small it could not accomodate the basin which was shoved into a corner of the bedroom.
The food was extemely hit and miss. Good on one evening, but dreadful the next one.
The only reason I have given this hotel 2 stars is due to the staff. They must be sick to the teeth of all the complaints that they get and have my sympathy for the way that they try their best that they can to deal with them.
Despite this terrible hotel,I enjoyed skiing in Kitz. It is a great resort with many and varied slopes. We had great snow throughout the week.
Nielson should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for selling this hotel. I will not be using their company again.

The helpfulness and politeness of the Neilson staff at the Tryol were what really made this holiday for us. They would always go the extra mile for us and provided us with laughs all the way through the holiday. The hotel itself is perfect for a ski/snowboard holiday with comfortable clean rooms and a large and secure ski locker downstairs. The food was brilliant everynight - my compliments to the chefs!
The night life around Kitzbuhel is really good. There is a decent selection of bars offering everything from a quiet sociable atmosphere to wild karaoke bars. You'll never be let down.
All in all, a brilliant holiday!

The hotel was clean and tidy with a really friendly atmosphere. Run by neilson staff who were all verry pleasent, well mannerd, and polite. The food was well cooked and plentyfull.Everyone there said they had good food all week. There's 2 games room's (pool table, Table football and a few game machine's) away from the bar area where younger children can play without disturbing everyone.
Ski locker downstair's with enough room for everyone's equipment. The walk to the main lift (hannenkam) is about 10 min's through the town centre then up a slight hill.Ok on way back stop off for some light refreshment. There is a chair lift closer but was not open. Plenty to do around the town lot's of shop's to look in. This is a old town with a lot to it. The ski area has been up graded with some good new lift's that are quick.
The transfer time is only about 1hour 15 min's from Saltzberg which is great. This is a resort I will return to.

Apr 2008, Mrs N M Roberts

The disappointment we felt on arrival at this hotel was probably exasperated after travelling with no sleep due to an early morning departure time which was delayed for 5 hours and meant finally reaching the hotel at 5.30pm only to be shown to a minuscular 'twin' room that was just about big enough for the two single beds and a very small wadrobe - no drawers and not even any bedside tables. The carpet was filthy and lack of storage was a real problem for two people on a skiing holiday.
After complaining at reception, we were given a larger room, just as basic but at least with a spare bed to use for storage - other guests were not so lucky.
At the welcoming brief we were overcharged for 2 glasses of wine - 13.50 euros - we were promised 2 free glasses in compensation by the rep but never received them!!!
Breakfast was a shambles as guests were constantly having to request items as hotel staff failed to keep an eye on stock levels on the buffet table.
- On the plus side, the ski hire staff were very good and the resort itself was smart with plenty of varied nightlife and excellent skiing.
