Delayed arrival Resteraunt Shut
Main Foyer Area splendid APART from flaking paintwork on cieling damp black patches on cieling even white fabric was used inone p-lace to try and mask staining
Corridors on First Floor , where I was staying , old and threadbare stained and not very nice.Staining to paintwork on walls.Metal Lift casings were coming off wall.4 Tiny pokey Lifts .View out of room yopu could see the sea yes - but you couldf also see a dirty rusty noisy massive air conditing unit - on the side of Hotel that leads to sea.there was a Childrens Playground Area BUT SEVERAL Rubberised Tiles were missing or torn exposing the concrete underneath them - the gate to the playground had a bolt to lock gate but as it was misalignes and all out of shape you could not use it

We have just returned from a seven night stay at H10 Conquistador and had a really nice holiday. We're quite fussy when it comes to hotels. We like them to be quite stylish and nothing fancy in the rooms (no flowery wallpaper or bedding etc). This suited us very nicely. Basic rooms, some of the furniture a bit dated but absolutely fine. The view from the balcony was amazing. We looked over the pool and the sea and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. We were on the fifth floor and that was a perfect height. Also, the apartments above us were set back so we didn't have anyone above us, which was great.
Check-in was really quick. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly.
We saw other reviews saying the food was horrible but how anyone can say that is beyond me! There was so much choice that you could always find something you liked. Lots of salad, potatoes, pasta and rice dishes and meat cooked in front of you.
Our only complaints were that the hotel was very large and the grounds around the pool aren't big enough. The sun beds are very close to one another and there aren't enough lifts. You end up waiting for a lift a lot!!!
Great location. You can walk to all the bars in las Americas within a few minutes and then there are bars in the other direction towards Cristanos. In fact it's the perfect location, although you don't back onto the beach. It's a rocky area with the sea but just around the corner is the beach, only a few minutes.
Very happy with the whole holiday, although would possibly opt for a slightly smaller hotel next time.

We went to the hotel H10 Conquistador Tenerife this summer.
We were disappointed. In our arrival the room was not free then that we had not slept because of air travel. While we had requested a quiet room with the order, we were brought face to the pool before the sound performances that last in the evening until midnight. The room was tiny and joints of doors that open onto the balcony were defective as throughout the hotel. We could not rest because of noise. When one puts a mask, you see that the pool water is not clean. The reception is cold and everything is paid, no generosity, only your money is important. A table, there is no drinking and must buy water that costs 10 times (ten times!) The price of the supermarket.
Is it always like this in the Canary Islands and Spain?
Fortunately the food was good even if it is not too diverse. The servers are effective, expeditious too, however. The piano bar, the evening is the best place to dream and forget his worries.
There was almost a half-pension. Indeed, one can eat and drink all you want for breakfast and there was more hunger at noon.
A 50mètres the hotel, near the hotel the Siesta, in a small shopping mall, the internet connection costs 1 euro per hour, if it is 1 euro 10 minutes at the hotel and in addition it works evil.
I advise you to go to Jungle Park, not far away and you spend a good day

After reading reviews of people who have stayed at this hotel in october 2007 we then booked for 2 weeks in august this year 2008.Everything seemed fine after reading the reviews last year and we looked foward to our holiday with no worries.About 3 weeks before we were due to fly i then went online on this site and a couple of others and read with horror the reports people were putting in about the hotel conquistador. We were that upset at what we read that we actually tried to change hotels but it was the cost incurred if we changed that eventually left us staying with the conquistador. Firstly we checked in in about 10-15 mins at most with the staff being very friendly then we unpacked in what i would call an average family room overlooking the very impressive pool area. How anyone can complain about the food beggars belief!!!! The breakfast is what you can only call comprehensive-you think of it and they had it.They even had a grille on and done you whatever you wanted whether it be a toasted sandwich ot an ommelette filled with whatever you wanted-like ive stated -comprehensive .The evening meal was even better,a selection of cooked meats including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, veil, lamb, rabbit and even duck-all cooked to perfection with which you could combine any selection of vegetables to go with.If cooked meat is not your thing then they had cold cuts of meat and a very large selection of salad and cheeses.again the grille would serve you grilled fish of so many varieties i cant mention them or even a freshly cooked steak! For deserts they always had 6 varieties of ice cream and a selection of cakes etc.We are actually annoyed at these previous comments that nearly caused us to move hotels. How anyone can complain about the staff i dont know as they were always smiling and friendly + most were multi lingual. The only thing i could mention in a negative vain is the fact we had peoples smoke coming into our room through the air con vent from next door to us as they must be connected somehow but this was only for 1 day as we complained and they changed our room immediately. The hotel has a brilliant location right on the sea front with access through a back gate-door with the use of your key card. There is a kids playground right outside if you dont want to use the hotels and you can just sit facing the sea and watch the sun go down in front of you.One slightly negative is that the entertainment goes on until 12 so if you have young kids like us you will not get them to sleep until the noise has finished as it is loud.Someone even complained the tv was mostly foreign channels! what do you expect situated off the coast of Africa? If you have one take a dvd player -the type you use in cars and connect to the room tv with a scart lead and there you go keep your kids happy with their dvds when the racket is going on outside. We noticed as we arrived in the resort that it is different class to anything in the likes of majorca etc and even though the temp reached 41c it does not feel like it with the breeze from the atlantic. We were especially suprised at night as it was quite comfortable walking around as you never got covered in sweat. There is a pick up point for all trips just 150m up the road at the best hotel and you can go on mountain trips -aqualand loro parque etc. I dont know if it is the weakness of the pound against the euro but everything seemed quite expensive so we were very pleased with the quality of the food as we expected to have to eat out.The trips work out pricey for a family of 4 no matter where you go.The hotel is very international so dont go there expecting little britain as you will hear every language on this earth-at least thats what it felt like to us but you still get your fair share of brits.Overall great holiday -great hotel-friendly staff and great food.

45mins to check in with surly staff, cockroach on surface food area, no interest show by staff or managment after reporting. not realy 4 star needs decorating in most areas except main lobby, on the up side food avarage , staff in dining areas always very busy, maids very good and so were the staff in the piano bar, h10 should have the reception staff swap with these to learn a bit of fun. enjoyed first stay in tenerife shocked at 11.00pm closing of certain area and didnt fancy veronicas.

We are just back from an 11night stay at the Conquistador. When we walked into the hotel we were pleasantly suprised, my gosh we thought, it's a bit posh for us! the reception staff were very friendly and helpfull and we were checked in in no time at all. A concierge helped us with our cases to our room which was a good help as we had 3 cases, hand luggage and a buggy. Our room was on the ground floor which was brilliant as we had our 3 year old boy who likes to wander and explore and was worried that if we were on a higher level we might have to keep him indoors. The room was gorgeous, got cleaned every day we were there with clean fresh towels every day also. We were half board and the food was grand.Plenty of choic. I read some other reviewsbefor I left and people were complaining about the food and to be honest with you I cannot see why. The hotel is situated in a great place on the promenade which runs from Los Cristianos to Veronicas area.Pool area great but of course people getting up at 7am to put their towels on the beds which annoys me! I could go on all day, but overall the hotel location and our holiay was fab and I would recommend it to anyone

This hotel is centrally based and is in an ideal location for exploring Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas and Torviscas, either by walking (if your energetic or walking off the sumptuous meals) taxi or bus.
No beach to speak of though, mostly rocks.
The hotel was spotless, the rooms spacious. We had one overlooking the pool area, corner position and we could just about glimpse the sea. If you want to sit out on your balcony (ours was massive) and look at the horizon then you will need to ask for a high floor, although you will have to pay extra. There is a charge for a lounger pad and towel of 1.50 Euros per day.
It's the usual for breakfast greasy bacon chipolata sausage etc, eggs whichever way you want them (freshly cooked) cereals, yoghurts etc.
Dinner was quite exceptional, at first I wasn’t really bowled over with it (something to do with presentation I think) the salad bar left a lot to be desired and I usually make a bee-line for it but it was underwhelming - which as it turned out I was glad for because the main meal option was fantastic - fresh cooked meats & fish done to your liking, spoilt for choice really. The only thing that was missing was vegetables - they didn’t seem to have many to pick from.
Christmas dinner was exceptional absolutely fantastic - sort of traditional (if you wanted it) or something more unusual lobster, ostrich etc.
The evening shows were of a very high standard and the staff kept you entertained throughout the day without being too intrusive. The foam party (our first) was a scream - thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was our fourth visit to The Conquistador and quite frankly it has gone downhill steadily.
The food is not as good as it used to be and the rooms could do with a lick of paint. Although the bar area has been gutted and replaced by some very tasteful furniture and decoration the rest is looking tired.
The maid service is daily but that could be more thorough especially when you are there for 2 weeks which we were.
Be aware that if you require an early breakfast it has to be ordered by 8.30pm the night before and not a minute after, but they don't tell you this until you want to order.
The location is ideal, on the seafront and a few minutes’ walk from the lovely Playa La Vistas in one direction and Las Americas in the other. At night it is quiet as it is on the edge of Las Americas. This is the only hotel where I have had to pay for the safe 34euros for 2 weeks.

Food just as I mentioned before fabby, great fun from start to finish I reckon I'm due a discount from the hotel, really great place for a holiday.
