We arrived April 21/07 on a prepaid golf package.
We were turned away when advised "Rooms under renovation" while others were checking in!
We were rerouted for 2 of our 5 days to another Hotel - the Paris and advised that:
1 - For another equivalent suite we would have to pay an additional $ 100.00 taxes included, per night.
2 - If we wished to say for our complete time at the Paris (part of the same hotel group) there would be an additional $ 1000.00 taxes incl.
Our thoughts are that the Rio was able to receive more money for the weekend than we had paid, so we were bumped.

We had prebooked a holiday for five nights with the Rio.
Upon arrival we were advised there was not a room for us, although I did have a written confirmation from the Rio Hotel with a confirmation number.
We were sent to the Paris Hotel via cab and advised that we could only stay 2 of the 5 nights at that hotel, which meant we had to spend several hours during the vacation packing up and moving back to the hotel we should have been in the first place.
While I was standing in line waiting for my husband to check in I could see many many other guests all checking in (there seemed to be rooms for them).
Probably the hotel was able to charge more money than what our confirmed package was so therefore booted us out!
Wine was $15 US a glass in one of the bars in that hotel.
I would not return. Hotel is extremely noisy!
