a great little secret
We went to this resort as part of a group hotel takeover and enjoyed the property immensely. The first thing we experienced was the warm welcome of the hotel staff. They were all very helpful and accommodating. We stayed in one of the suites and it was excellent; very clean with excellent amenities. The décor was tasteful and the bed was incredible with wonderful white down comforter. (We would suggest bottom fitted sheets as opposed to the flat ones). We had a large walk in closet with many hangers and a full chest of drawers. The tub was... more
We Loved the Blue Moon Resort!
My husband and I stayed at the Blue Moon Resort during a hotel take-over and we loved staying there! The rooms were incredibly clean and smelled very good. The bed was one of the best we have ever slept on, and the pillows and down comforter was incredibly soft and luxurious. The hotel was very quiet, and we never hear any noise from the other rooms. The staff were incredibly nice, and the continental breakfast was a nice touch. We really enjoyed laying out by the pool, and felt comfortable being naked or in a suit. It was nice not... more
A smile goes a very long way
Hello to all, My partner and I have traveled to many different hotels and resorts around the world and by far have gotten the most positive feeling from the Blue Moon. People must truly separate their feelings when it comes to wanting the glitz compared to getting the heart felt service. I most honestly have never experienced a more caring owner and staff. The service rendered by this resort was exemplary. There was a lot of little details that could easily have been overlooked. Through our three day stay we were able to take in... more
105 degrees - but not HOT enough...
So I followed advice & stayed over the weekend - and if that was busy, I dread to think what a weekday is like. (total of 15 guests) Yes, it is expensive for what is on offer, and lacks any higher end gay standards. The rooms are poor by vegas standards, with no queer eye for style. Nevertheless, they were clean, and the beds very comfortable. Having free porn channels in the rooms and in the 'cinema' ( tv on a shelf...) was popular with guests, and led to a friendly open doors policy of an evening throughout the hotel. Guests were... more
Nice Place
We just got back from staying here. We were familiar with the area, it is just across the freeway from the Palace Station. A rental car is a must to get around. Use Industrial and Paradise to get around and avoid Las Vegas Blvd which is grid locked most of the time! The hotel is nice, it is not luxurious. The rooms were clean and the staff very nice. Not much atttitude. There is plenty of parking off street. The areas is quiet (if that is the right word considering it is next to the Freeway), not a lot of people out moving around.... more
I loved ti wow !!!!!
hello folks my names RONNIE and i stayed here with my boyfriend maxwell. We had a great time and loved being able to walk around naked, ive already booked for next year
My BF was almost beaten to death in the street
My B/f and I checked in for a long weekend. I was beat and went to bed. He walked up to the strip for the sights and to gamble a bit. I was awakened by the police. My bf had been attacked and beaten horribly to a bloody pulp on the street while he was walking back to the dump, at 2am (which is NOT early in LV). He was in the hospital 3 days. I relocated to LV Hilton until he was well enough to get up on his feet. Horrible location, *VERY DANGEROUS* do NOT STAY HERE!
Management response from MoonOne

I feel it necessary to provide a rebuttal to the posting of the gentleman that claims that his boyfriend was beaten up in the neighborhood of the Blue Moon Resort. Let me start by saying that when traveling as a gay man, it is imperative that common sense be used regardless of what city you may visit. What this poster failed to mention is that prior to this incident, his intoxicated boyfriend had been in a straight, topless bar two blocks from the Blue Moon Resort. While in the club, he proceeded to make a pass at a straight man. He was then followed into the parking lot where the gentleman he made a pass at beat him up. His lack of judgment should not reflect on my business. I find it sad that this person would make such claims that were obviously meant to damage my business. I trust the poster feels better. Sincerely, John E. Hessling Owner, Blue Moon Resort Las Vegas

A Gay Travelodge at Strip Prices
It's great to see gay hotels and guesthouses springing up in tourist destinations. I've stayed at some wonderful gay hotels in Amsterdam, Paris, Palm Springs, Key West, Provincetown, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco. Unfortunately, Blue Moon did not meet my expectations. First off, they charge as much as or more than the luxury "Strip" hotels. Our room, on the second floor of a converted Travelodge building, had a window looking out on a forlorn parking lot, dirty and worn carpeting, ants in the bathroom, a toilet which plugged up with... more
Practically empty on a holiday weekend; Pros & Cons
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the first time this past weekend, and were disappointed. When we spoke with a staff member last month to make the reservation, he indicated that the place would be sold out for the holiday weekend and that the average age for guests is ~30. For the duration of our stay, however, the average age was about 45 and the hotel only had about 10 guests, including us. As a result, the advertised perks of the jacuzzi, steam room, and video room were also frequently (and again, disappointingly) empty. The place... more
Repeat Stay was Better than Before
Having stayed at this property two times previously, I was impressed with the managments continual improvement of the resort. The cafe was delightful, the personell friendly and the overall atmosphere comfortable and casual. I look forward to returning in the warmer months. Thanks to all at the Blue Moon.
