Great, except for the LOUD Paris Hotel Promo next door
from A TripAdvisor Member
The Barbary Coast was a great hotel. We stayed in Las Vegas for the first time Oct. 17-20th. We loved the fact that it was a very short distance to the elevators and not that far to our room. We had a Fantastic view of the Bellagio fountains and of the Paris hotel from the 4th floor. The only problem we had was the video screen at the Paris, next door. All night long, 24/7, on the average of 48 times an hour, we heard the song "We will ROCK you, Rock you--Paris, Las Vegas" After a sleepless first night and talking to other people, we...

Service was great!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We were impressed with the service as well as the room. We stayed sept of 2003 and are planning another stay in Nov. of this year. Check in was very fast and they did not bat an eye when we asked for an upgrade to a room on the strip. (same price) Then the bell hop took us up to our room and showed us our room and explained about security and was very helpful. Our maid service was excellent. We did not think it was noisy at all. It was just right for us as we were not in our room much anyway. The price was also great.
Great location

We have just got back from a 3 night stay at the Barbary Coast and have to say were impressed with the hotel. It goes without saying there are bigger and fancier hotels in Vegas but this hotel is small in a good way-we checked in and were in our rooms less than 5 minutes after arriving. Our room looked out over the Bellagio where we could see the fountain show and the Barbary Coast is on an intersection on the strip and on the other 3 corners are Bally's,Caesars Palace and the Bellagio-beat that for location!. The rooms are big and...

not bad for the money
from trippingJack
Stayed there a couple of times. The rooms are average size with a heavy Gay-90s dark velvet motif. The hotel is located on East Flamingo road at the intersection of the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd). It is across the street from the Bellagio and the Paris-Las Vegas. The location is prime. If arriving by car come in on East Flamingo heading in a western direction - there is an entrance just before reaching the Strip. Parking is free and abundant. Entering any other way is a hassle. Rooms will be about $40/night. Try...

You stay here for location and a decent room
from A TripAdvisor Member
If you want a very comfortable room, at tremendous mid-strip prices, on the greatest corner in Vegas, the Barbary Coast delivers. Let's be clear about one thing: if you go to Vegas and spend all your time in one hotel, using all their amenities (pool, spa, etc.), then you will not like the Barbary Coast. Amenities? What amenities? If you're like me and you can't sit still for 5 minutes, need a room only to sleep and take a very short shower, you like to walk around, and basically don't spend much time in your room, the Barbary...

Save Yourself Grief
from A TripAdvisor Member
Location is great and that's about it. The hotel is old and looks old. Bathroom very small. The room we had was down at the end of the hall (very, very long walk). The window was draped with an advertisement and we were suppose to have a room with a view! When we requested another room we were put in the middle of the hall. The noise was so unbearable from the Strip that we slept possibly 1 hour. To top it off there was a lamp that rattled all night. When we complained about the noise they said that was the first complaint regarding...

Location, location, location

I stayed at the Barbary Coast for three days in September 04. Vegas is so unique on this planet that everyone should experience it at least once in their lives, and if you are going to Vegas you should stay at the centre of the glitz. That's the huge plus for the Barbary Coast - at the crossroads of Bally, Flamingo, Caesars Palace, and Bellagio; and just a short walk to Paris, Venice, New York, Harrahs and more. This location, plus the smaller size than the nearby mega-casinos, were its main attractions for me, and I was not disapointed....

A good hotel..not glittzy.... but WE LOVE IT!!!!!
from Paula319
This will be our 2nd trip back to the Barbary Coast (9/13/04). We go with another couple and we love it there. No lines, getting lost, or long waits for the elevator (security is posted by the elevator at night so no one can get up to the floors without a room key). The rooms are nice and big, the staff is friendly, our view facing the Bellagio was beautiful. Our bed was comfy and we felt right at home...well, as much as you can at a casino. We come back to the Barbary Coast because it's steps away from everything and feels like your...

no problems

Different people have different views...we stayed at the Barbary Coast 4 nights...had no problems with the service nor the people who worked there..very polite, good room service, etc. We would certainly stay there again...
Not that great
from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed at the Barbary Coast for 4 nights. Not impressed. Location is great and the casino has a nice cozy feeling to it but that's it. The rooms are very basic and the noise from the strip was awful. We stayed out late every night...that wasn't the problem. It was the constant noise even at 6am. The staff did nothing to make you feel welcome and the bartenders have no personality. ALSO, be warned...there is no easy way to catch a taxi. We had to cross Flamingo to Bally's several times to get a taxi. (Which was a HUGE...
