Amfora Hotel

Got a really good rate on yeego.com - Spent 5 nights here mid September. Absolutely loved it, much better quality than Dubrovnik hotels. Right on the water and a ten minute stroll from the main harbour area. Pool wasn't finished, but that didn't hinder anything, as they had lush private cabanas with loungers as well as cheaper regular loungers. Everything in the hotel has been revamped, and is top notch. Comes highly recommended....

Thanks to those who took the time to post about the renovations and how the property was working out. I had been torn between the PodSine and Amfora and based on the reviews and the closer proximity to town, booked the Amfora. It was an excellent choice. The rooms were stylish in decor, had the right amenities and the view was beautiful. The walk into town was delightful. Had a good rate by using the hotel booking website. Next year, when the cascading pool is finished, it will cost a huge amount more, so now is the time to stay there!... more

We have just returned from staying 4 nights in Hvar for the 2nd year running. We decided to stay at the Amfora, as the previous year we stayed in an area called Krizna Luka which we found, having 2 small children, was just too far a walk from the main beach. we spent 4 nights at the Amfora and really enjoyed it. At the moment you can get some great deals as the hotel pool is not finished for the 2007 season. This didnt matter to us at all as the sea is a 2 minute walk away. The hotel is just a 5 minute brisk walk or a 10 minute leisurely stroll from Hvar's harbour. The rooms are 5 star, very modern with a cool bathroom. The views from the reception area and breakfast/dining room are wonderful, some of the best in hvar! I would highly recomend this hotel. One word describes this hotel: fantastic! The service was excellent. The front desk was very friendly. The views are spectacular. The rooms are nice and cozy. Breakfast is included and it is quite a nice spread. It's a 5 minute walk to the center of town and all the action. It's a 2 minute walk to the crystal blue water. The Amfora is a great hotel with a great location a short stride from the rocky beach and inlet west of the town center of Hvar. It is about a 10 minute walk to Hvar town itself. If you are looking for a high end hotel in Hvar, I would definitely recommend this one. It has all the amenities you need if you are used to being pampered. One of the best things I thought was the Free Wi-fi internet that is spread throughout the hotel. Myself and my partner have just come back from a weeks stay at the newly opened Amfora Hotel. We arrived at the island without accommodation and for the first night booked into a private apartment but after visiting the Amfora on the second day moved there. We had looked into staying at the Amfora before we left but was uncertain about the building work so never booked before we left. One of the best hotels we have stayed in. The room was just as depicted on the website - very unusual - modern, if a bit on the small side, with all the ammenities ie hairdryer, safe, satellite tv, mini bar, laundry etc. It was quiet and although we did not have a sea view the balcony over looked gardens. The food was very good with a good choice of dishes and an excellent salad bar. My husband and I just returned from a two week trip to Croatia and spent 2 nights in Hvar at the Amfora. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the center of town and the port. This is a good thing as we discovered. There are a few late night clubs in town that have loud disco music and we were far enough away not to hear it.
