The complex is set in a large fantastic bay surrounded by mountains and Mark Warner practically has the monopoly on the beach and the waters. The beach is literally across a quiet road from the complex which has nice family atmosphere and small enough to get to know people which are largely Brits. Many people come back year after year
We took girls of 5 and 10years who thought the kids clubs were fantastic and even the little ones got involved in the water sports. There is also evening babysitting so adults can get time out. Our 10yr old was happy playing with the friends she made as the place is small enough to keep an eye on them.
As adults we had chance to try out the sports although spaces were very limited for the amount of people at peak season. Outdoor Aerobic classes were good, 3 tennis courts were a good standard and we would strongly recommend the massages and facials :)
Advantages: Great and very friendly nannies who can’t do enough for you and the children. Lots of water sports although places limited. Very clean beach on which we only saw MW holidaymakers
All MW staff very good and more than helpful, they are pretty badly paid and can't dine in main restaurant unless invited by a guest, so invite them to dine with you! Very few mosquitoes, most people got no bites. Only One shop with basic snacks, newspapers and a few clothes and beach shoes etc. Babysitting service up to midnight where staff check every 15mins.
Disadvantages: No pool towels so take your own! Ice creams and drink not included in the price were very expensive. Happy hour is worth taking advantage of! Location is pretty remote so little choice for change of scenery or an evening out. Limited food, only a pizzeria other than the standard restaurant although food standard was pretty good. Rooms very basic although there are 2 separate bedrooms for a family booking. Take your own hairdryer!
No information pack on arrival so you have to go hunting on how to book sports, tennis and find your own timetable on what the kids are doing on what day in the kids clubs.
Very poor evening entertainment if any for both the adults and kids.
Airport food and drink very expensive so stock up before you go!
Overall we really enjoyed the location and facilities but for the money MW could improve on the accommodation, entertainment, high cost of extras and also the information on facilities to make the holiday run smoother.
