Booked at last minute for mid week break for my husband and I and 2 friends. Had trouble finding it in the dark. Illuminated sign could be bigger. Room and bathroom a bit dated. Clean, apart from the bits of fluff behind the bedroom cabinet between the 2 single beds. More like a motel than a hotel, all on one level. Good breakfast choices, nicely cooked, not swimming in fat. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definateley stay there again. Good value for money.

Locations: Excellent, easy access to coastal resorts and Exeter with park and ride close by.
Hotel: Reception impressive, Bar/TV room comfortable, Restaurant lacked atmosphere (probably due to lack of guests)
Rooms: Small but adequate, for short stay, would have been nice to have the shower/shampoo replaced daily.
Restaurant: Breakfast very good, although could not get used to being asked to help yourself to cereal and juice and as soon as you sat down they bought out your hot breakfast. Continental Breakfast was lacking in variety, not cheese/ham, fresh rolls.
Evening Meal: The chef obviously knew his trade as we had steak the first night that was done to perfection but it would have been even better if served on a hot plate as before we were half way through the meal steak was cold. The same the next night, had the chicken and again served on a cold plate. Starters and Deserts were great.
The last night we decided to eat in the Bar, very good selection and the food came out on hot plates.

Excellent hotel

I have stayed at the Exeter Court Hotel once before which was again for a business trip and I would certainly return. The staff, room, bar and restaurant were all excellent. I ate mainly in the bar and found the food very acceptable and I had one meal in the restaurant with a work colleague which was delicious.
I have no complaints at all and look forward to my next visit. Many thanks to the staff for making my trip so enjoyable.

DISGUSTING - BEWARE OF FOOD...

Aug 2008, Miss H Green

DISGUSTING - BEWARE OF FOOD POISONING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We booked to stay as a surprise for my fiancee as it was his birthday. We stayed for two nights with his parents and our 9 month old baby. The room was lovely. On the small side but was clean and everything was there which you would expect.
On the wednesday evening we had a meal in the hotel and had two extra guests join us. The meal was AWFUL, I would go as far as saying the worst I have ever attempted to eat. We had to wait for my fiancee's starter and it finally came out 15 minutes after the rest of us. Four of us had Lamb shish kebab with mint yogurt for a stater. The main was dreadful. Mine was cold on arrival, with no veg served on scraggy lettuce, My mother-in-laws was Herb crusted rack of lamb which was just drenched in dried herbs not even cooked. Needless to say we complained about it on the night, and got offered a free dessert which nobody could face! My father-in-law got a cheese board with grapes on which were half rotten!!!!
The following day one of our party came down extremely ill, and then a few hours later 4 others of us were extremely poorly. We have never ever felt so bad, I was almost rushed to hospital. We were unable to care for our baby as we were so bad. Constantly throwing up for hours and hours on end and aching all over. Our food poisoning was confirmed by our GP. I would never ever go back to this place and would advise others the same.
The kitchen NEEDS shutting down to save others. On the night we ate there were two children eating, it's disgusting. I'm so grateful my baby was too small to eat here, she could have been very very poorly indeed.
Do not Eat here and definitely never consider your wedding here!

Excellent accommodation. I booked 7...

Excellent accommodation. I booked 7 rooms for our cricket club's annual tour and we were not disappointed.
I'd like to point out that the ages of our group were two early 20s, three in their 60s, two in the 50 bracket, and the other 7 between late 30s and early 40s. So no drunken louts.
We all agreed that the bar was a bit sterile and could have done with some real ales, but the friendly staff more than made up for that.
The staff throughout the hotel were courteous and helpful and we would certainly return here for another tour.

Booking, very easy, friendly helpful...

Aug 2006, Mr M Smith

Booking, very easy, friendly helpful staff on telephone. Checking in, very easy, friendly helpful receptionist. Although we were left to walk to room to find it was still being cleaned.
Room, clean, except for the plate of moldy food in the cupboard. Shower was not consistent, have to be quick to catch the warm part of the shower and not the hot or cold. One of our towels had a nice brown stain. Furnishings were weathered but usable. Carpet was good quality, as was decoration in bathroom. Facilities - nice bar area.
Area - close to a30, very easy access. Breakfast - friendly waitress, good toast, shame about the fried breakfast. Very poor quality sausage with large amount of gristle. The plate was swimming in oil, I’m used to cooking with lard and couldn't face eating the whole breakfast.
Morning reception staff. She was more interested in talking to the cleaners than talking to the guests and was walking around bare-foot, what a great impression!
If i was asked if I would stay here again, no I wouldn't due to the showers, food, moldy food in bedroom and some unhelpful staff.
