Westgate Vacation Village Hotel

Using a timeshare we own we traded into Westgate Villas. It was a first time trade for us. We are new to timeshare. The Villas were very clean and accomadating. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We did not get bothered by any timeshare sales people because we already own one I guess. The villas are spread out so we did some walking and some driving to get to the pools, bar, game room, etc. The Deli and store they have on site was very reasonable. I just got back from Westgate Vacation Villas last 2 weeks and i had to share with you my good and bad experiences. Overall, the property is nice, our 2BR condo is nice and really spacious, although they do look pretty old and i was told they've been there for 15 years but thats okay with me as long as it is clean. They have nice pools and great activities i.e. boating, bicycling, tennis everything you wanna do. I did alot of checking into Westgate Vacation Villas and got a lot of different responses. From very good to very bad. So I didn't know what to expect. We spent 2 weeks there. 1st week we signed up for a sales presentation to get a special room rate and the 2nd week we traded my mothers timeshare for Westgate. First off the pictures they show on the web are NOT of the Vacation Villas, they are of Town Center. However the room is basically the same set up. NO Giant Screen T.V., (more like 27"). I am not an owner at Westgate, just someone who decided to try out the property based on conveinence for my family. I've traveled enough to realize that bringing a 5 and a 2 year old to a small hotel room for a 7 day vacation would in turn not really be a vacation. We researched many ownership properties and decided that Westgate would serve our needs best. I am a timeshare owner at Westgate Vacation Villas and absolutely love it there. It's a beautiful area and so close to Disney World. I must admit that the representatives can be very annoying and harrassing. Even being timeshare owners there, they always try to make you upgrade from what you already own. They try to make it seem like it's a mandatory meeting about maintence fees or something. Of course, they'll get into that at first, but then the sale pitches start coming in. We just returned from a 4 night stay. We stayed in one of the older units (2 bedroom), and it was in great condition and was very close to Disney. We thought the room was a good value for the price. The only drawback was that this is primarily a timeshare community, and even though we booked online as a "hotel", our guest coordinator told us we had to come by the office to sign off on the condition of the room, which then evolved into a 2 hour sales pitch on why we should purchase a timeshare. Sorry, but forgot to mention what we thought of amenities. We stayed at the Sunterra Cypress Pointe the week previous to the Westgate and even though it was a much smaller resort, the amenities were far superior. The Westgate is huge but the amenities are certainly lacking. One basketball for a resort this size? My son got a ball from the "Activities Center" numerous times, but what was the point....there was no way you had any chance of getting one of two baskets! We found Westgate to be exactly, exactly, exactly...to the tee...like the pictures I found on Expedia and on other websites....even down to the colors and patterns on the bedspreads! The TV was indeed 52", the furniture clean, off-white leather, everything was in place and clean and working and accessible. When it was time to leave, we were all disappointed. For all you people out there who say Westgate is terrible your retarted! I first started going to Westgate when i was 6 years old and I'm now 17 im going back this march and it will be my 11th year in a row going there and it never ever gets old, every year just keeps getting better and better.
