" The room we were staying was a little... "

The room we were staying was a little bit dated, but spacious we could see other parts of the hotel had been updated I’m sure by 2008 it will be finished. Even so the hotel was good and clean, we have no children and the hotel didn’t really have a lot for children just one pool and a bike hire but Lake Garda has loads for kids to do so no need.
The location was good for visits to Verona, Romeo and Juliette home town. Less than 2 hour journey to Venice. They also had bus ride to Florence but that was a bit to long for us 3-4 hours, visits to the dolomites and bus ride round Lake Garda.
We stayed half board; the breakfast was good, lots of variety. The evening meal was fantastic. I’m a vegetarian although they don’t cater especially for vegetarians’ most of the dishes were fine. You get a free bottle of wine with your meal also a bottle of water. One night the waiter couldn’t understand me asking for the house wine (free) and gave me something else and tried to get me to sign and pay for it, so watch out for young inexperienced waiter’s or try not to speak with a Geordie accent.

The hotel was good, the staff were very friendly & welcoming. The food was good, always including a starter & main meal which was a veggie option. We had wine & water included in our deal which really reduced our bar bill at the end of the holiday.
The only problem was that it was half an hour walk into the centre & to the boat pick up. They advertise a shuttle bus but it is only a glorified 4x4 which seats 6. It runs on a restricted basis which caused us some problems.
The bus to the centre on cost one Euro, so it was not worth waiting for the shuttle.

There is an excellent buffet breakfast, and a 4-course dinner, with house wine and water included.
There is a free shuttle bus to Sirmione centre, but as this seats only 8, at peak times it may mean waiting for a return trip. However , nobody is ever left high and dry.
The hotel is in a quiet and pleasant area, with no noise at night. The only slight reservation we would have is that in July/August the pool gets busy with children. Fine if you have a family, but if you are of a certain age, then June /September might be better.
