Without doubt the rudest members of staff I have ever had the misfortune of coming across.
The disgusting service began when checking in, stood around for 10 minutes waiting for the one member of staff who was actually shuffling paper and ignoring us totally.
We then handed over our paperwork for the booking and were told the paperwork was not sufficient as the vouchers were not as required.
After insisting further that this was the only paperwork we had, the lady then agreed that the paperwork was actually correct and processed this in a manner that was clear it was actually never a problem in the first place.
After a further wait for 10 minutes of seemingly pointless paper shuffling and mumbling in Spanish we eventually were given our room keys.
At this point I thought it prudent to ask why we had waited nearly 25 minutes to check in whilst there were no other customers present and we had the correct paperwork all along, the response was more mumbling in Spanish.
At this stage my friend made a comment on the poor service which in turn was greeted by a torrent of abuse actually accusing us of being rude. By this time at least another 6 people had arrived at reception desk, despite this the receptionist was now becoming gradually more rude and loud.
At this point I was feeling myself becoming irate and thought it prudent to go to our room and put this down to a bad night etc.
During the rest of our stay the general attitude of all staff in the hotel was incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful, i.e. if you had no change they would make a large point of looking thoroughly inconvenienced and if you asked for change for the internet connection it would seem like a major disruption, etc etc
On the second morning two of us sat on a table set for four in the relatively empty breakfast hall, we were then asked if there were four of us and where were the other two people.
We replied there were only two of us and this was greeted by yet further mumblings in and a five minute spell of watching and listening to 2 members of staff shaking their heads and clearly discussing us in full view of everyone how inconvenient it was that we had taken a larger table than needed.
Throughout our stay there were many other poor service points were shown which I will not bore you with.
However when we checked out we noticed the same lady as previously mentioned on reception, we were pleased to see she was not alone and a different member of staff could process our payment, we handed our keys over to the other lady on reception who had also an incredibly unsuitable unfriendly manner.
We were literally about to place our pin number for the credit card payment when this lady grabbed the machine and would not let us enter our pin until we had actually apologised for upsetting the receptionist on the first night!
We were actually in a rush at this time and had no time for these ridiculous shenanigans, so I grabbed my card and left.
I hope all who see this, see just how disgusted I am at the treatment we received and would ask all to be very careful when choosing this hotel.
I pride myself in being very fair and not a "complainer" but I am simply stunned on how rude a staff base are allowed to be and the strongest memory of our stay were these incidents
The hotel itself and surroundings are very very nice, but it shows you how bad the staff are. I advise you 100% to avoid this shambles of service.

We booked a late 4 night break to Golf del Sur staying at the Aguamarina Golf Hotel. We are in our mid 40s and have a 9 year old son, we have been to Tenerife many times before but this is the best hotel we have ever stayed in.
The food was superb plenty of choice including caviar for starters, one of us is coeliac but this was not a problem at all.
There was entertainment daily and nightly our son had a great time there were a team of French entertainers who were brilliant.
The rooms were cleaned daily and well, the swimming pools were fine, there was mini golf and a beach club/laguna. The shops are nearby.
The only downside is the building work which is taking place until 2008 along the seafront, but this was not a problem at the weekend. The beach however does need improvement and could do with some imported sand but the resort is extremely pleasant and ideal if you want peace and quiet i.e. to chill out.
The staff were friendly and we were able to book taxi transfer in advance for our return journey to the airport. We would not hesitate to book this hotel again as we had such a fabulous time and can recommend without hesitation.

I recently arrived back from a 5 day break playing golf.
The Aguamarina Golf is a great hotel and the staff I found very helpful, the food also very nice and a good choice of everything from chips to steak etc.
The hotel was not that busy and we had a great room looking over the golf course. There were some French people there but those that were there, were pleasant.
I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you’re out there to play golf as it is right across the way.
The only thing I could moan about if you just want a little relax in the room to watch a bit of TV sky news and BBC world....overall a very good hotel

We have just returned from a 1 week break all inclusive at Aguamarina and felt we must write a review as we have never stayed at such a bad hotel. The majority of staff were rude and ignorant- they would rather speak to the French and Spanish guests who constantly queue jumped.
The description on the web said mini bar in room. It was an empty fridge. The beach was described as black sand, it was wide enough for 6 sun beds and was then rocky. Not a place for the kids.
All the pools are salt water and only the pool near the hotel has a Bar. The beach pool was dirty and had cigarette ends floating in the pool and brown scum. There was even dirty nappies left lying around. The main pool at the hotel was crowded and filthy with peoples discarded cigarettes. The furniture was in a state of disrepair. The food in the restaurant was of a very poor standard and pretty well inedible. Cold meats were not in the chiller cabinets and had flies crawling all over it. The floor was dirty and still had food on it from hopefully only the lunch but who knows?
Thankfully there are plenty of very good restaurants near by and are very reasonably priced. The room was nice and roomy but the air conditioning did not work. we even had the engineer look and he came back later saying it was fixed but the room never went below 28 degrees.
The maid was efficient and only forgot to give us towels on 2 occasions and she never locked the patio doors which is ok if on the 1st floor but not on the ground floor! The bathroom was large but shabby. Full of holes and missing tiles. The region itself was handy for golf but was dirty. There is building work going on next to the hotel but it is not to noisy or was that just drowned out by the poolside music.
Aircraft do pass over the hotel but again you don’t really notice and there were about 3 a day.
We have stayed in many 4* hotels around the world and this is definitely not 4*. 2/3 maybe.
If you asked me if I would go again, no but if you ask advise on going don’t go all inclusive do b/b and eat at the local places, better still go to Greece!

We have just come back from our first trip to Tenerife and was very pleased with our first experience of Tenerife and of the hotel. After only ever hearing about Las Americas we was very pleased with what was in the Golf Del Sur area.
On the whole the Aguamarina hotel comes highly recommended but for a few downsides there was no kettle in the room and the TV only had 1 channel for English speaking guests, the entertainment the hotel had to offer was aimed very much so at the older client. Also the beach was very close but very rocky no sand and very uncomfortable to walk on.
On the plus side the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the housekeeping especially the lady that serviced the 3rd floor did an excellent job every day. the beach club pool was excellent and it was more quiet and relaxing than the pool right outside the hotel.
I will definitely return to Tenerife and would have no hesitation in returning to the hotel Aguamarina Golf.
I hope this review helps at least 1 person to enjoy the aspects that for me were slight downsides but not problems.

Just returned from my second trip to the Aguamarina Golf in Tenerife. Another fantastic stay. This is one of the best 4 star hotels that I have stayed at.
The rooms at the Aguamarina Golf are large spacious, modern and clean. The rooms are enhanced by a fridge which is excellent for keeping your Beers cold until you drink them on the large Balconies that all the rooms have - Try for a Pool/Sea View room, they have the sun for most of the day.
The staff at the Aguamarina Golf Hotel are among the nicest I have met - all bar one miserable receptionist.
The food at the Aguamarina Golf is also excellent. one evening my partner and I counted 10 choices for main course and that did not include all of the salads, starters and huge display of desserts.
The only very small downside to the Aguamarina Golf is that it is predominantly French. I don't mean that in a racist sense, just that they are ever so noisy around the pool during the day - although they were always polite when we encountered them around the Hotel.
A good sign of an excellent hotel is the other Tour Operators that use it. The Aguamarina Golf is also a destination of Saga Holidays. These more mature guests are pretty much the only other British Holiday makers you are likely to meet at this hotel.

Being regular holiday makers we were very impressed with all aspects of the Aguamarina Golf, from the check-in desk staff to the house keepers.
The food at the Aguamarina Golf was good and catered for all tastes - this was great considering I am a fussy eater!
Entertainment was good, but it did cater for the older person, certainly not for a young couple/family - although there is a kids club.
At the Aguamarina Golf there are two pools, one within the main hotel and another that was about 2 mins away - not suitable for elderly or people with walking difficulties as there is a steep hill and steps. We spent the majority of our time at the 'other' pool within the Aguamarina Golf complex. Here, in this secluded tropical hideaway you could be anywhere - the only down side is that the bar is up top of the hill next to the main pool.
There is also a gym at the Aguamarina Golf which is a reasonable size and also has an indoor pool - its very cold!
There was building work going on it didn't affect our holiday. They started about 9am and were finished by 3pm.
This was a great holiday at the Aguamarina Golf and brilliant value from Med Hotels!

I have just returned from a week’s holiday in Tenerife staying at the Aguamarina. It is a lovely hotel and rooms were cleaned every day and towels changed every day. Our room was on the ground floor and was split level giving you a downstairs sitting area and the bedroom upstairs.
We booked for half board and the food was nice and you had a great choice. There were 2 other restaurants for which you had to pay 3 euros per person. The BBQ restaurant was excellent and the service was fantastic!
The staff were all fantastic with the exception of two very frosty and rude female receptionists. If you were British they didn’t seem to want to help at all. On one occasion they both stood and chatted to a German couple while I was waiting to make an enquiry. It wasn’t until the other couple left that they came near me.
All in all a great holiday!
