" I took my 14yr old son to Kos. It was... "

I took my 14yr old son to Kos. It was very hot, but the pool soon cooled us down! The rooms are just right for two people. Basic but clean and tidy. The staff were really nice & helpful.
The maid service was spot on. The beach is great & very close. Shops even closer. If you need cash then the ATM is near too. All the food was good and you get plenty, average 3 course meal for two people was 30 euros with a drink.
If you like a nice cool lager then you’re in luck at 1.80 euros a bottle! (70np)
There is a hilly drive but no one seemed to worry. Cheap & cheerful holiday. The only bit I hated was the flight in and out, but I am over 6ft & all planes have little room.
Apart from that, go and enjoy yourself. Highly recommend!

" I agree with the previous post and we... "

I agree with the previous post and we also had a fantastic time. It is a lovely quiet resort and the apartments were clean and although we didn't use the pool it was perfectly adequate.
We rented a quad and use the beaches which were quiet and sandy. We caught the bus to Kos which was a little disappointing. We also did the tour to the volcano which was interesting. I went with my 15 year daughter and we felt safe during our visit.
It is quiet but that suited us!

" Kefalos and Archontia apartments are... "
Submitted By: Mr C J Knaggs
Kefalos and Archontia apartments are typically Greek - simple, relaxing and beautiful! The apartments are situated in the middle of the resort with the main street in one direction and the harbour in the other, each no more than a 20 minute walk to the end. As others have mentioned they are at the top of a steep bank, but its not that bad (someone who was staying had walking difficulties and could manage it!) and the views from the top are amazing. The owners are extremely friendly and the maids call every two days (however they don’t mind if you are not up, and they will call back later in the day).
Prices to rent fans are reasonable at 15 euros a week, only 30 euros to keep your room on until midnight for those with late night flights home, and 15 euros for a fortnight for the safety deposit box. The pool is small and not too deep but perfect for those hot days with plenty sun loungers to go around. In terms of rooms, ask for a sea view to appreciate the full view of Kefalos (we had room 19 which was by far the best for the views).
The resort was ideal with everything you could ask for, plenty bars and restaurants to suit everyone’s tastes, from quiet laid back bars, to the livelier karaoke places i.e. Sydney’s. The beach is pebbly with plenty water sports available from jet ski’s which are 30 euros for 15 minutes, to par ascending which is 35 euros. However the beaches improve as you go further north, with paradise beach for the livelier activities and magic beach for relaxing on a sun lounger.
Renting a quad (from Katerinas which was the cheapest - 39 euros for 3 days) was the best decision we made as you were able to travel pretty much the length of the island in a short space of time. Had we realised this earlier we would have avoided the rep's trips as they are cheaper in resort or to go yourself. Apart from the Greek night in Zia (which was amazing) we didn’t enjoy the trips and neither did the other families we spoke to.
Especially the water park, which was small, expensive and to be honest not that good.
All in all the best holiday we have had, and one of the best resorts in Greece, we will definitely be returning to these apartments and recommending to others.

We had night flights (if poss avoid) they tried to charge us 40 euros to keep room until 2am, when you could of rented a room in town for 25 euro's for the whole 24hrs!!! Basically blackmailing you so you can have a shower and store your bags for afew hours - rip off. Luckily a family in next room stored our cases and let us do a quick change/wash etc The owners weren't happy but tough, I wasn't shelling out 40 euro's just to store my bags. Complained to Rep - which was a waste of time, so just beware if you have a night flight!! This took the shine off the holiday a little and they should provide a free safe reception area or secure room for cases, which whatever the rep insisted - was not available. Overall holiday ok, but least favourite of all our Greek Island breaks.
Advice: Very pretty, nice beaches but poor restaurants.
Activities: Best to hire a quad or whatever and find the hidden beaches and family run restaurants out of town!
Good for: Beach
