We booked this apartment independently and found out that the owner was in fact the website manager.
We had been to Vilamoura the previous year through Panorama holidays and our apartment was absolutely dreadful.
The apartment at the Vila Marachique complex was quite simply out of this world. It resembled something out of a showroom and was spotlessly clean with air conditioning in each room.
A beautiful food hamper awaited us on arrival, the owner took us right round the complex, left us lots of maps and info on the surrounding areas as well as texting every now and again to see if we needed anything.
We had every mod con you could wish for as well as CD player with CDs, DVDs - all in English and books if you felt like reading at the pool.
There were enough sheets and soft fluffy towels to do us the whole two weeks, and we were even left things like washing up liquid, kitchen towels, washing powder, soap, and all the things you would have to make a first visit to the supermarket for.
The pool and gardens themselves were fantastic. There were plenty of sun beds for everyone and the bar was really handy for cold drinks and snacks.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone - the walk down into Alvor at night is lovely and taxis are really cheap if you cannot face the upward climb back. I have been to Alvor twice now and fancy a change this year.
However, it is my intention to return and when I do I will definitely be staying at the Vila Marachique.

We very recently stayed at the Vila Marachque complex in a clean and comfortable one bedroom apartment. We had a pool view. The pool ( well almost a lido ) was excellent and we found the gardens well maintained. Perhaps a car is needed as it is a 20 -25 minute walk to the old town.
We booked last year at the Casa D'Alvor and found this is a better location and again an excellent complex however it lacked the gardens and pool area of the Vila Marachique.
We have booked the Casa D'Alvor and the Vila marachique complex with JP Holidays and have never had any problems at all. I would use them again.

Vila Marachique apartments were very clean, very spacious. Staff were very friendly, although the staff at the poolside bar were less so. Situated a 15 minute walk from the centre of Alvor. Walk to Alvor all down hill, but needed a taxi to take us back. Taxi's plentiful in the evening - cost approx. 5 euros back to apartments. Restaurants and bars plentiful.
Could be quite expensive if eating out every night. Beach approx. 2 kms away. Not a lot of facilities on beach, but beach very clean and not overcrowded. Take a packed lunch.
Alvor quite a quiet little town, but Praia Da Rocha only a taxi ride away. Reception staff always happy to phone you a taxi. The biggest drawback about Vila Marachique was that there was no on site shop or small supermarket for the essentials such as water. Due to the distance from facilities I would probably not return to Vila Marachique, but would be happy to return to Alvor.
My biggest regret was booking through JP Holidays as they had not paid our money for our apartment. Our arrival therefore was very stressful. We still have not received any communication from them about this.
Do not book through JP Holidays is my biggest piece of advice to anyone traveling to these apartments.

Booked directly through the property owner - stayed two weeks, with alternate days at the poolside, beach and/or theme parks for the kids.
Excellent poolside and play area within a very well maintained garden area, couldn't be better for young families with or without children - as there was ample space for all.
Staff within the complex were friendly and helpful!
A good walk into the town centre, and a wee bit further to the harbour area, both of which are a must. (all downhill going to town, and probably best returning to the complex by taxi 4-5 euros!)
Shopping a little distance away, but hey! Is that not what we're trying to get away from!
Great location, great people and no complaints whatsoever - and oh!, I'm posting this note as we continue to make our travel plans for going back to Alvor in July - and yes, for us it's got to be Marachique!
