Forss House Hotel is an old country house from the outside but inside an elegant traditional Scottish haven. The interior is just class, everything has been thought about. Each little detail has been gone over and over ‘til it is more than acceptable!
Right beside the hotel is the River Forss with a spectacular waterfall that flows into a large salmon pool. I just happened to time my visit when the river was in flood and the salmon were jumping up the falls! A sight I will not forget for a long time.
The restaurant is nicely laid out and the waitresses were very attentive but not overbearing. The food was to die for…….quality at its best.
The bar has the largest whisky collection I have ever seen and of course if you just fancy a beer they have that as well.

As for the bedrooms, probably the best I've seen. Everything supplied, radio, TV, alarm clock and reading books! If I had any niggles it would be that my shower was a walk-in shower and although I'm not huge, it was a neat fit! (LOL)
And then there’s Anne! Anne is quite a personality and seems to do just about everything. She checked us in, she served at the bar and generally was kept busy making sure everyone was looked after. Now Anne has one of those personalities that money can’t buy. She’s quick, witty and always thinking of the customer. Her banter made our visit very memorable and I am sure anyone who knows Anne would agree with me.
Overall this is one hotel I would gladly revisit at anytime of the year as it has to be set amongst some of the best countryside in the UK.
I haven’t mentioned the pricing but let’s just say that B&B is cheaper at Forss House than at a Travelodge. But as far as other differences…..have a visit yourselves to see what I mean.
