Anyone who wants to take a break in Somerset should stay in Gingerbread Cottage. It is within easy reach of Cheddar, Wookey hole, Glastonbury and many other places. The cottage itself is on a farm and is a barn conversion. It has three bedrooms, one double and two twins, one of which is a galleried room in the roof space.
The whole cottage is country style, lots of natural wood, beams and a lovely wood burner for the winter. There is a TV and video and the owners, Trevor and Linda, have thoughtfully provided a few videos to watch, a bookcase with something for everyone to enjoy and there are also a selection of games and puzzles to while away the time. Outside we were greeted each day by the owner’s three Labradors who were so friendly. The cottage was spotless when we arrived.
There were towels and soap provided, also a cream tea was waiting for us and a bottle of wine chilling in the fridge, so we felt at home straight away. The only problem with staying in Gingerbread Cottage is that when the time comes you really won't want to go home!
