Ozlem Apartments

i visited icmeler for the first time in september of this year, i didnt know what to expect as it was my first time abroad, after a long day of travelling, my girlfriend and i were welcomed by a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and relaxed. the apartments themselves were very clean, this suprised me as i had a very stereotypical view of the country, how wrong was i?! throughout our stay we did a few trips but decided to stay at the apartments for food and drinks, peter (the manager) should be on stage, he was always smiling and such an entertainer.
i will be looking forward to stay at ozlem again very shortly.

We travelled to the ozlem in June this year and this is our sixth trip to Icmeler and first and last to the ozlem, never in all my years going to turkey have i met such rude people. the apartments are ok but dirty,
the kettle contstantly blowing the fuses and i dont think the electric is even safe.
It is a good 20 min walk to the centre and uphill coming back. Now if you want to eat in all the time, then you will be treated like kings..we tried the food twice and both times it was rubbish and undercooked, we complained and that was it... ignored for the rest of the two weeks. The entertainment is non existant...a quiz night, whom frank and cherries friends attend...and no prizes for guessing who allways wins....and a turkish night...well if you can call break dancing and robots turkish!. Twice we were overcharged at the bar...but we had been told to watch our bills, so we were a bit more careful. Peter the manager is arrogant and rude unless you are spending....totaly ignored us after we complained....so much so...that as we were leaving, both him and jimmy the so called head barman, turned their backs on us and offered no help with suitcases ect. Its a case of ...if you stay in and spend you are fine...if you go out...well.. be it on your own head.....its more like billy smarts circus..we are going back to icmeler in sept....but NOT to stay at the ozlem...not if it was the last place on earth. Oh and by the way...mind the cockroaches...we have photos of these in the room and even found the cockroach's in our bed!

Welll I ended up staying here for a week and a half, and it is far out , depending on what bars you go to. cause i had to go to opposite side of icmeler it was a long walk for me twenty minutes lol.....
kurt apartments are just near by aswell,
The rooms are lovely and clean. we were in the attic room though which isnt good with a baby lots of stairs, the amount of times the lights went off whilst half way up it was scary lol.....
and they spiral stairs to which are really thin on one side and wide on other side, which not good.
Over all this hotel was nice. The cleaner came every other day and changed all towels and sheets which was great.
They were quiet large apartments aswell which was handy .
The apartments were run by an english family so was easy to understand lol....
It was really busy there considering the season was coming to an end and many hotels had shut.
Sofa beds (single) were not that comfortable, and you had two of them in the living room and two single beds in the bedroom which was a decent size.
The shower was amazing it was hot all day and even into the evening which was great.
Overall 8 out of ten.
I would of given it more if it wasnt to far away for me.

Me and my husband came to Turkey with 2 friends and have a brilliant stay. At first we were worried when we arrived as we are retired and my husband has trouble walking too far and we had been put in a top room on the 3rd floor.
We explained to the owners that this could be a problem and they said they would try to move us. They were full up so this was difficult but they moved heaven and earth and the next thing we knew we were on the ground floor!
They were so helpful throughout our stay and along with the staff they made us feel so at home. We spent relaxing days by the pool and really enjoyed drinking and chatting at the bar with other customers and our friends.
We ate at the restaurant many times as well as our gorgeous English breakfasts we had a couple of meals in the evening which we really enjoyed. The steaks were lovely and i'd definately recommend the home made pizzas and chips.
Icmeler is a great place for a holiday and we will be back!

Well what can I say; I really enjoyed staying at the Ozlem Apartments. I was offered a roof top room with a lovely balcony which over looked the local area and in the distant the sea front, I thoroughly enjoyed the welcome I had from brother peter.. Cherry, Frank, Simon, El, Mags and the lads including Jimmy, Harkan and Ebo. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and owners, I was made to feel like a member of the family, I played pool and pool matches with Simon, watched the football with Frank and Simon. Sat at the kitchen bar and had lengthy conversations with El and Mags. The family are keen to help you see the real Turkish culture. I was taken to the Harmony Bar to witness what could be the best show I have ever seen, the star of the night Stella with her amazing Stella Show (Drag Act) THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED. The food from the restaurant at the apartments is all handmade and home cooked; it was really like my mum had been cooking for me it was fantastic.
This was the second time I had visited turkey, first time to Ozlem 1 and it will not be the last. Well done I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

We stayed at the Ozlem apartments in June 2008. The place has been recently taken over by an English couple, Frank and Cherry, who are very helpful and friendly with all their guests. Their Turkish manager Peter will do his best to arrange anything you may need, including car hire etc. delivered to your door. These one bedroomed apartments are very clean and well equipped for a comfortable stay. A very nice relaxing pool area with plenty of sun beds and a pool bar with great staff. They are situated on the edge of Icmeler only 5 minutes walk from the Wednesday market and the upper storey rooms have nice views over the town and surrounding mountains. Although they are in a pretty residential area they are only a 15 minute stroll from the resort centre and beach, and very close to a selection of local bars and restaurants. The new owners used to run a restaurant in town and now they serve food at the Ozlem instead. Anything from bar snacks to full meals are available and the food we had was very nice. On Wednesday they have a Turkish night with folk group, belly dancer etc. and Turkish food all for around ten pounds each. The local dolmus stops for Marmaris and Turunc are only a few minutes walk and the fares are very cheap.
The Ozlem 1 is offered by several smaller operaters and we booked through Apollo, but you can book independantly if you wish. The email they gave me was cherrybartlett2000@yahoo.co.uk but they are currently working on their own website which may be up and running by the time you read this. There are other Ozlem apartments in Icmeler so be sure it is the Ozlem 1, situated at 26, Namik Kemal Cad.
We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to be in a quiet peaceful location but only a stone's throw from the action.

Me and my partner booked a holiday in these apartments with some trepidation as the price seemed to good to be true, but on arrival we were pleasently surprised to receive a warm greeting and be shown to a spotless room. As the holiday went on we were more and more impressed. The room was cleaned everyday and kept to the same standard as when we arrived. The staff bent over backwards to help with anything they could and were always smiling. The appartments offered a free money exchange service and the English breakfast was second to none! Anyone going there would do well to try a traditional Turkish breakfast too... delicious and perfect on hot days! All in all we had a lovely holiday and we are already planning a trip back in september.
