Submitted By: Mrs PD HaywoodsWe knew that the beaches are known to be beautiful in Fuerteventura but still, we were amazed just how gorgeous they really are. The smaller beach near the hotel is not the best, but the main beach in Corralejo is a must!! The hotel runs a free bus service twice a day, & it’s only 5 minutes away.
Now for the hotel, absolute heaven, tranquil & so, so very clean. They are constantly on top of everything, nothing needs painting or tiles replacing. Everything has been thought of, and is there for the taking.
I, after 2 weeks am always ready to come home, but not this year, my 7 year old daughter made many friends & was in & out of the fantastically run kids club all day long, making T-shirts, painting etc. which is ideally situated near the kids pool so you can see them and they know that you are close by.
My 13 year old son found loads to keep him amused also, & my husband has put on nearly a stone in weight so that tells you how good the food is!!
Talking of food, if you like Indian food you must try the Indian restaurant just up from the hotel, again just marvellous!
The resort itself is ok, you must walk to the harbour where lovely small bars can be found, the bars on the main drag are steak houses etc. that are supposed to be there for the English, but quite frankly I think we Brits would rather find quaint little restaurants overlooking the sea. But again lots to do and see.
I could say lots, lots more but I’m sure you get the message that it is worth a trip. I am looking to book to go back over Christmas.

Submitted By: Mrs C ElliottWe stayed in a family room with easily accommodated 2 as 1 child and a baby. I did go and look at the standard rooms and the suites which both were also of a good size. The suite had a separate bedroom which is ideal if you have children. The air conditioning is switched off at 12am and comes back on at 6am you may think its on as it still makes a noise but i can assure you its not on and it isn’t the best air con system I’ve had.
The staff we found really friendly and professional the maid service was also excellent as the rooms and towels are cleaned everyday and it’s a thorough clean. All rooms have balcony with screen doors which is really good and the mosquitoes are really friendly. Please take plenty of repellent.
Entertainment was 50/50 some good nights some not so good but the children’s disco is on every night and the animation team are good with the children. The kids club is free the only downfall is that the children can just wonder in and out so it’s not too safe although you do sign them in.
Pool area is clean and there are plenty of loungers although the pool doesn’t open until 9am it is a race to get the sun beds around the baby pool. Free towels are provided and you change them when you want a clean one. The tiles around the pool area are extremely slippy and all the children slip. So please take care and wear some non slip shoes.
Food is ok we found the first week it’s was really good with a wide choice but there are only so many steaks you can eat and by the second week it had got a bit repetitive but there was always something to eat.
If you want a late checkout ask when you arrive otherwise you won’t get one. Also I would advise the safe as while we were their money was taken from a family as they didn’t have the safe.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Atlantis palace and would return again.

Submitted By: Mrs S BerryHotel was spotless. Food was to die for. They changed our towels every single day.
You also get a clean towel for the pool every day, which I have never known before so I was very impressed
There is a great lounge to have a quiet drink in the evenings and a nice swimming pool and pool bar.
Can’t stop talking about this hotel, it was excellent. It’s also near the beach, water park and shops.
The hotel catered for everyone and anyone without spoiling anyone else’s fun.

Submitted By: Mrs S EdgarWe were a little disappointed as we had requested a sea view which we didn’t get (we thought a little more effort to get us a decent view would have been made as we were on honeymoon and had requested it over a year before). Our room was also fairly small.
Meals were good and there was plenty of choice. It was nice to see that there was an opening time on the outdoor swimming area as this prevented people getting up at ridiculous hours of the morning to reserve sun beds!
Being in our early 20's, we did feel a little out of place but the staff were all friendly enough. Unfortunately, Fuerteventura isn’t an island that has a lot to offer if the weather is bad. We had quite a bad week for weather. It was quite cool during the day and so we did struggle a little with finding things to do (beach lovers would love this island providing they got good weather!).
Personally we wouldn’t go back again but that is down to our personal views of the island and not the hotel. The hotel was lovely and I would recommend it.

Submitted By: Mr C MilesThe large window together with the marble hallway throughout reception and the lounge area is tremendous and really something you would associate with a four star hotel.
Check-in only took a couple of minutes and the staff are always more than help, apart from the porter who broke my suitcase on the way to the room.
The room was a decent size, particularly the bathroom, having two sinks, bath, shower, and WC, all finished in marble, with a massive mirror above the sink. The room also included a double sofa bed, armchair, side tables, desk, occasional table, fridge, TV, air con and a large coffee table.
The balcony was a decent size too with enough space for 3-4 people and provided an ample view of the swimming pool and the main lounge. The table, and two recliner chairs were helpful especially after a long day at the pool.
Our first visit to the restaurant was impressive and the amount and different types of food on offer surprised us. Likewise, the following days we were impressed with the breakfast. However, after 3 days or so, you do become bored of going to the same place, although the food is different, we were annoyed at the constant up and down from the table to the buffet.
Especially in the morning, because of the queues and the different location of the food, you could be up and down at least 6 times, by that time most of your breakfast is cold. It was similar in the evening, and by the end of the holiday we had been though all of the different food that they serve and it did become repetitive.
During our first day we quickly realised we were the youngest people there, (27 & 27) and got the impression from quite rude middle-aged farts that we shouldn’t impinge on their holiday. Irrespective of the slightly aloof atmosphere, the swimming pool, sun loungers (with mattresses), towel were good.
At 4pm the pool closed and the spa opened till 8pm. Best advice is to wait unit about 5 or 6 because most people come form the pool straight into the spa, so even in quiet November it’s busy.
If you’re going for a beach holiday, Feuterventura is probably one of the best places you can go, (from my experience). However, the beach directly opposite the hotel is nothing to get excited about. There are no sun loungers and it’s full of rocks. The best beach in the immediate vicinity is Flag beach about 30-40 minutes walk.
The hotel does operate a free bus going at 1000hrs and coming back at 1500hrs and a taxi is only 5 euros. There are loads of sun loungers and the beach and water is fantastic. There’s a few nudist about though, mostly Germans, 60+
The nightlife is quite good too, even in November, although it too us a few nights to find somewhere we really enjoyed. Namely the Rock Café just off the main stretch. There are other pubs, like the 7 Pints (loads of kids running about, busy with families), Wikiki Bar, (very nice inside, but more expensive that the UK, table service was good though), the Irish Bar was ok too, (live music).
We got a little bit bored sitting by the pool all day, so we decided to hire a car for three days. We went to Jandia in the south (about 120K) which was further than we thought, but very nice once we got there. We found that the beaches were no better than Flag beach at the sand dunes.
The rep promised “Caribbean beaches” at Jandia, but we never spotted them. If we done it again it’d probably leave about 8 or 9am because once we got their, had some lunch, got on the beach, it was almost time to come back. We also visited El Cotillo, which was very nice and only about 25 minutes drive from the hotel.
I think that this is going to become the next biggest resort, the beaches were amazing, and there were two massive lagoons where the water was warm. The waves from the Atlantic were massive, luckily the rocks around the lagoon made for a perfect shelter.
The restaurant there were great too, we ended up get a tray of fresh fish, (heads, eyeballs and all) and salad for about 17 quid. The third day we went down to Costa Colleto, which is a man made resort.
It was a very nice resort, but the beach wasn’t much, it looked really rocky unlike the “Soft” sand at Flag beach or El Cotillo. We drove up through Puerto del Rosario, which was mainly industrial and unlike most of the tourist towns.
Overall we consider 4 stars to be a fair reflection on the hotel, however, if you’re a young couple with no kids, like us, you might want to consider exploring a bit more of the island instead of being around arrogant old snobs all day. First-Choice were surprisingly good, and quite professional. We’d go back, but perhaps self-catering.

" The Atlantis Palace is fantastic.
We booked this Holiday for 2 adults and 1 child through Direct Holidays' Select option and have just returned from a 2 week break 9th - 23rd August 2006. We have stayed in many 4 star hotels over the last 15 years but have to say this was the best ever.
At Fuerteventura airport (modern efficient airport note) we were met by the Direct rep and shown into a taxi that took us the 30 minute journey to the Hotel. On arrival we were shown into our family room which was large with plenty of space, spotlessly clean, Sky News, a mini bar, and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool. The air con was great, and all rooms in the hotel had this including the restaurant which was cool and airy. There are 3 floors, of which the "ground floor" is on the same level as Reception with the restaurant and pool on the "lower ground" level. Try for a pool view if you can.
The food in the hotel was lovely, fresh meats and fish cooked while you waited & lots of choice. There were no queues whatsoever which was terrific! People simply found a table & went to the buffet. For evening meal, drinks could be ordered from the waiting staff who were quick & helpful - again, no long waits for service.
There was entertainment every night - Kiddie disco at 8.45 followed by a mixture of tribute bands, Snake show, Parrot show, quizzes etc. Pool area had 2 pools plus a small one for infants. Note that inflatables & ball games were not allowed so the pools were peaceful. Poolside bar was useful for lunch & there was a Kiddie club though we didn't use it.
One of the big pluses for the hotel is its location. Out of the hotel, take the cut through across the entrance & you're on the beach in 1 minute. Lovely beach too - gentle tide, soft white sand, not overly busy, umbrellas/beds to hire for 3 Euros each and 3 restaurants within 2 minutes walk for lunch/drinks. Very nice views of Lanzarote & Lobos Island too.
Turn left from the hotel & you're on the main strip in 2 minutes. Corralejo is quite big with lots of "proper" shops, not just the usual touristy tat. We ate out around the harbour on 3 nights (around 10-15 minutes walk down the road) and found that very pleasant. The restaurants along the main road tend to sell "fast food" so be warned!
We spent 1 day at the water park (10 mins walk from the hotel) which was really good fun. Note that you cannot wear watches or sunglasses on the rides. Opens at 10 so get there early, though the queues were not as bad as others we've visited. Good idea to hire your own tyre rather than wait for other people to discard theirs. The 18 hole mini golf behind the water park was fun too & possibly the longest ever played - we'd never seen sand bunkers on a mini golf course before!
We hired a car before we left the UK so had fun exploring the island. Recommend the following:
1 - El Cotillo (on the West coast, 20 minutes drive, lovely open beach, almost empty, great waves)
2 - La Lajita Animal Park - 80 minutes drive to the South of the island (or available via your rep as an excursion). Reptile show, sea lion show and parrot show, plus lots of animals to see. 18 Euros per adult & 12 Euros per child. A full day out.
3 - Betancuria. Lovely drive through the centre of the island (45 minutes). Beautiful church plus excellent lunch in restaurant opposite.
Last couple of thoughts. For those considering a trip to Lanzarote, the 12 minute crossing is expensive - would have been 91 Euros for the 3 of us. Driving is easy - the roads are very quiet and in good condition - and we'd recommend hiring a car to see the real Fuerteventura - it's a beautiful island.
Now looking for somewhere as good for our next holiday!

Submitted By: Miss H WellsThey even provide a free bus service to the best local beach. This hotel would suit families or couples as there are lots of different things to do. The only problem (a tiny one) is that the gym isn't air conditioned.
When it gets up to 40 degrees, its unusable! But, hey, you’re on holiday, who want to go to the gym anyway! Definitely would visit again.
" This is our second time there and it... "
Submitted By: Mrs C BurkeMy daughter is going in September as she has heard so much good comments about it. My only little quibble is the first time we went we got a lovely gig double bed this time we got a twin room and no nice paper flowers.
We highly recommend this for a lovely pampering week cleaning services excellent fresh daily pool towels and we will definitely be back again.
" Very nice hotel in good location... "
Submitted By: Mr S YoungFood was better than most 4* hotels with lots of choices and the staff very friendly. Rooms have balcony and are quite spacious.
Only complaint would be lack of mattresses for sun beds (mainly because some people insist on taking 2 for one bed!)
A great hotel, you won't be disappointed.
" This luxurious hotel is justifiably... "
Submitted By: Mr L EllmersA stunning hotel, that has all the features that you could want on your stay on this magnificent island. The hotel provides exceptional dining facilities and have some of the best chefs on the island. The location is just another fabulous addition to the amazing hotel, set on the beach it can not get much better!
This is a brilliant hotel and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a break!

Submitted By: Mr P TurnerThe food was very good and the buffet put on for New Years Eve together with party packs and entertainment was fantastic. The swimming pools are well protected from the wind, being set below road level which was a bonus as we were surprised at how windy the resort was.
The only disappointment was the weather which was cloudy on 4 of the 7 days, naively I thought we would get 7 days sunshine. I would recommend this hotel if you were going to Corralejo, there didn’t seem anything in town to match its service and location.

Well worth paying the price.
