Been to Kaptan Kemal 5 times, was a brilliant place to stay until this last time 24/5/10. What a SHOCK!!!!!! They are now a first choice 2wenty's so if you like being kept awake with all night parties and then idiots running round and bombing in the pool all day these will be good appartments for you. The cleaning standards have gone down, we got our towels changed twice in two weeks and the second change I had to ask for, the bedding was changed once, there were dirty great cobwebs on the ceilings and the bathroom floor and toilet was cleaned twice. We have never in all the times we stayed there, had to pay a deposit but this time we were charged 100 Lira also we have never had to pay extra to keep the room because we had an early morning flight but this time they charged us £30.00. Think the bar man was trying to pull a fast one as he said the cost was either £30.00 or 100 Lira (which works out about £48.00) needless to say we paid in english so please be AWARE. When we were leaving they actually had the nerve to thank us for leaving the appartment so clean (it was cleaner than when we arrived). Must say I am gutted as these appartments are in a good location and were quite comfy, but never again will we stay there.

Was at Captan Kemal apartments in July and since been back in September. All the staff were very friendly and a big thank you to all for making our holiday a very good one the Turkish nights were really good so thanks again to Ali, Kemal, Baris, And Batu.
This hotel is well recommended and i will certainly be going back next year. The hotel is very clean the pool is always very clean and the rooms are cleaned everyday and very good standard.
It is close to bar street and may I say club x bar is very good and uncle festers do a very good steak so you must try it. Captan kemal is not far away from the beach either so it is in a very good part of Gumbet. So it is worth staying here.

I spent a week at the Captain Kemal Apart, It was wonderful week. The hotel is excellent, it is a family business. When you have a problem you can contact with owner of the hotel easily.
And they look after hotel customers very well. The rooms are very comfortable every room has a very big balcony. With a bad room and a big saloon there is enough place to stay with 4 people. It is very close to centre and very close to beach. And swimming pool is a big one very clean. I really enjoyed my holiday.

One of the best holidays we have ever had, we were a party of 6 adults and 6 children. The hotel staff could not do enough to make our stay thoroughly enjoying.
Food and drink was so cheap we lived like kings for the full two weeks and never found the need to cook once in the hotel. We shall not be shopping around in 2006 and will be booking the kaptan again , thanks to everybody concerned who made our stay first class.

We found the apartments to be clean but facilities for cooking very poor. OK for just the two of us but for anyone with a family it would have been a nightmare. Only a two hob electric "portable" tabletop cooker, no oven, no microwave, no toaster. Don’t be fooled into believing stories about Marmaris being cheap - IT IS NOT.
For example a typical evening meal for my wife & I cost around 50 million lira (approx £23) and we would not have a starter or sweet. Wine would cost 6 to 7 million lira per glass. I would say that it is now more expensive than Britain and to be honest the quality of food & drink is pretty average.
The air conditioning struggled to cope with the high temperatures (39 deg C) during the day but still did enough to provide some relief from the conditions. The staff were friendly and the pool area generally relaxed although there were occasions when I would have liked to have popped across the road to an adjacent hotel and turned their volume down a bit!
The apartments are very close to the beach but unless you are lucky enough to get an apartment on the east side third floor or higher, looking outward you will not see the sea. For anyone travelling to Turkey for the first time a bit of advice.
Expect to be pestered from the minute you leave your apartments by every shop, cafe, and restaurant to get your business. It didn’t bother me too much but my wife was totally scunnered by the end of the second week. The return journey is a nightmare - Dalaman Airport is a military airport and they treat you like cattle from the minute you get off the bus.
For example you have to queue to get into the airport as they x-ray all luggage and this would be long hot and frustrating during the day as no one controls the new bus loads joining the queue’s.

The apartments are of a high standard very clean and well equipped for self-catering although because food is first class and inexpensive in turkey we never cooked once during our stay.
The appartments are only a short stroll from the sea and beach and numerous bars and cafes. Everyone is very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble rooms are cleaned every day and beds changed twice clean towels are provided every day a truly enjoyable holiday and we have already booked to go back in September would recommend it to anyone.

Hello all!
I read some bad reviews about this place before I went and it was quite off putting went along and it was BRILLIANT!!
The Captain Kemal Apartments is quite a small area with one swimming pool and a bar (which is reception). At first I was a bit off put at the size as I usually stay on bigger complexes. This turned out to be a good thing as you get to meet loads of people and make lots of friends as you really have 2 mingle.
We went on three of the Twentys evening excursions; School disco, beach BBQ and Halikarnas;
School Disco; this was on our first night, unfortunately we didn’t have a school uniform so we just wore white tops, skirts and hair in bunches. This was a brilliant night, we went on a bar crawl all around Gumbet, involving drinking games and karaoke!
BBQ; we went to a club on the sea front for this BBQ, the food was lovely (salads and meet), you also get a free hour at the bar, you then move on into Gumbet, for another night out where you will meet the rest of the Twentys gang!
Halikarnas; IF YOU DON’T LIKE GREASY TURKS AND CONFINED SPACES DO NOT GO TO THIS CLUB! ESPECIALLY THE GIRLS! We were in a big group of girls, you cant dance unless you want some minger groping you and you get all sweaty (not attractive), we ended up leaving after an hour and heading back into Gumbet for our last night.
Gumbet: Brilliant place, right outside the doorstep of the hotel you have a Turkish restuarant-Javant Garden? Very friendly, nice food at cheap prices. If you head to the left of the apartments there will be loads of shops and markets. Go past these and you will come to my favourite, bar street!
Most of our time in Gumbet was spent at an Aussie bar called Outback- if you like a bit of good old rock music, pool and nice cocktails (surfers paradise) this is the place to be. The mystery bar is also good which is opposite the road although past 12 it does get full with Turks, underneath is the karaoke bar which is always good for a laugh.
Bodrum basically was the same as Gumbet but you have to get a taxi too and fro so I wouldn’t bother.
We had a brilliant twentys rep looking after us, Yorkie, she was lovely and always willing to help. If you wanted to go to an excursion that they didn’t provide e.g. water park ask Yorkie and she’ll help you out.
We are four lasses from Cornwall, who came for a laugh, sun, good nights with great memories and that’s what we got.
Things to bring: School uniform, factor 15 & oil, & lots of alka seltzer!!!!
If you need any more info, which I may have not mentioned, please feel free to email me. Have a great time and say hi to Yorkie from the Cornish girls!

we are just bk from staying in kaptan kemal for a wk.. staff were lovely & always spoke to us when we were passing.. we didnt arrive until late the 1st night & they kept the kitchen open for us to get something to eat.. when u 1st arrive u have to give £40 (110lira) each deposit & are told u will get it bk at the end of ur stay..its called a breakage deposit. we were also told we were not allowed to get makeup on the sheets or towels! we really enjoyed theses apartments but they do need updated, when we got our towels and sheets they were already stained which was fair enough but on the last day when u hand ur key in they go up & check ur room, towels, sheets etc. 1 of our towels had a red stain on it..none of us knew where it came from so because that was there we lost 10lira each...apart from losin that i do recommend the apartments.. they are on the main street & only about 10mins from bar street. cant wait to go bk to Turkey nxt yr :)
