On reading the comments on this site I felt that I had to put my comments on, as I can't believe that people are talking about the same hotel as we stayed in.
The Sol Sharm was great - the staff are absolutely brilliant and cannot do enough for you.
The entertainments team were fantastic - yes some of the shows were not first class but come on, at the end of the day they are a group of guys who are doing their best to please a lot of people - they are not fully trained entertainers if those are the sort of shows you want - go on a Cruise Ship!
The food wasn't Michelin Star standard but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. All food that we ate was totally edible and there was also a good choice and if you can't find anything eat the pasta that is freshly cooked in front of you. The salads are ok to eat as everything is washed in bottled water.
Yes I had a slight stomach upset for 1 day but at the end of the day you get that on most holidays - if you do suffer don't bother taking English medication it doesn't work - get yourself down to the pharmacy at the Baron Hotel and they will give you tablets - they worked within hours on me and I was fine from that point.
The cleanliness of the Hotel, rooms, and surrounding areas is fantastic and if there is a spillage by the pool someone will be there within seconds to mop it up.
I hope my comments make up for some of the negative ones on this site, we only returned on the 28th June and am looking to go back in October and also to go back next June and meet all the friends that we made this year - Can't wait!!

Our hearts sank when we first arrived; the whole area is a giant building site. All worries evaporated when we arrived at our hotel.
The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless. The staff were all exceptional, helpful, and friendly. At no time were we made to feel tips were expected though we were more than happy with the service to pass on a few £1 coins.
It was very humbling how well they all spoke English and I’ve resolved to have a few words of Arabic before I go back.
We were all inclusive and the food was fab, long serving times and wide range of dishes with chefs cooking up fresh omelettes and pasta for the less adventurous. Am surprised at previous comments re 'watered down' beer, the local beer and even the wines on offer were totally acceptable.
The hotel is a wee way from the lights of Naama bay but the hotel transport is reliable and staff are happy to organise taxis- although a ride in one is an adventure in itself!!
The entertainment team were bit on cheesy side and we only went to one of the shows they put on, preferring to spend our evenings by the pool bar. They were very good at entertaining the children round the pool during the day however.
If you’re looking for plenty to do and a party resort then a hotel closer to Naama bay may be better for you. My pal and I were looking for a holiday of sun and relaxation and that’s exactly what we got.
We would go back in a heartbeat, and are planning a return before Christmas.
Big thanks to all hotel staff.

Hi All.
We have just returned from having a fantastic time at the Sol Sharm, this is the third time we have visited the hotel and it just gets better every time.
The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean and very well kept and anything you ask for is no problem to them.
The Animation team are excellent and provide us with different entertainment every evening and round the pool and also on the beach. The beach is a 5 minute walk away or you can get the shuttle bus which leaves the hotel every so often.
We have been so often now we feel like Egypt is our second home and on arrival at the airport we were greeted by 2 members of the Animation team, who had been sent to pick us up and take us to the hotel. Thus saving on fighting for a good price in the awaiting taxi's at the airport.
We are going back again in Nov/Dec this year as we cannot keep away! A good time is always had, very much recommended.

Had a fabulous time at the Sol Sharm. The hotel is 4* but the staff can't do enough for you and are so pleasant, it was a 5* by other hotel standards.
The hotel was always so clean; the restaurants always served fresh food made in front of you for example, the pasta in the Italian corner.
The entertainment staff were what made the holiday for me and my boyfriend they were so good. I've never seen anything like it before. Every night they did a show 1000-1200, always something different.
For example one night they were walking on glass whilst holding up members of the audience, the next they are a drag show!
We had such an enjoyable time that we are going to go back in May!
The weather for me was perfect because it was really hot but there was a breeze so it’s manageable.
I would recommend quad biking to anyone that goes to Sharm, we went Valentines Day and it was spectacular to watch the sun set whist in the dessert, magical!

When we stayed at Sol Sharm, the hotel had only been open for about 6 months.
The building itself was attractive and well designed and our room was a decent size and clean.
However, as two single females we were continually harassed by male hotel staff, our room was very close to the pool, which meant that we were constantly subjected to very loud Italian house music (day and night), and the food in the restaurant was dreadful.
We spent an awful lot of money on taxis getting in to Naama Bay every night to escape rude Italians and bad food.
We have since travelled to Sharm El Sheikh 4 more times and have discovered that hotel food is just not good anywhere here (including Luxor) and you are much better off going room only or B&B and eating out as the food (especially in Naama Bay and Old Sharm) is excellent and very well priced.
I would not stay at Sol Sharm again.

The Sol Sharm hotel was clean and staff friendly. Food wasn’t that good they didn’t cater for children.
Entertainment staff were interested in them selves rather than the guests, the music was very loud around the pool at times, and pool staff were excellent, we didn’t go in the pool as the water was ice cold the Red sea was warmer.
The New Years Eve Gala meal was brilliant, all different kinds of foods it was lovely, show was okay.
But overall we had a good time, if we go back to Egypt we will go to another hotel.

The first thing that I would tell you is do not let them take your suitcases as you get of the plane as they expect money!
We got there at night and there seemed to be nothing there. The food was repetitive and the all inclusive bar is upstairs. Also don’t eat the salad or fruit as you will feel sick.
You will have to put up with them asking for a tip (the chef wanted 5 English pounds of me.)The animation team are very good with us but do the same activities everyday! The entertainment of a night is the same every week but some shows are very good. The beach is a 5 minute walk away but you can get the shuttle bus for free.
To be honest you couldn't come here for two weeks because there’s nothing to do. Naama bay 15 minutes away and you get hassled by them! The shops in the hotel are nothing special. Also the beer is watered down so if anyone is looking to come here to get drunk it will be hard.
The hotel is clean but building work is everywhere round the hotel. There are a few shops near the baron hotel which is roughly a 10 minute walk. Mosquito’s are everywhere so I would suggest bringing long clothing too!

As we arrived at the Egyptian airport I thought this was going to be the worst holiday of my life, until we arrived at the sol sharm and it was just amazing! Everyone was so friendly the hotel was kept clean 24/7 the staff in the hotel were all very helpful and friendly.
We could not fault our room it was just beautiful. The view was just amazing, our rooms were always cleaned well and towels were laid out on our bed everyday with a different animal or a flower.
The food was fantastic it was all freshly cooked just for you there was everything you could want and more. The pool was a little deep but always warm and the swim up bar was fab. We just sat in the sun all day in the pool drinking.
We went into nama bay one night and I hated it there, I was glad we were in the sol sharm hotel as it seemed the best choice.
We will be returning to this hotel without a doubt.

Booked on a half board basis, we upgraded to all inclusive as the drinks were extortionate. Very good accommodation, clean and well thought out. We had a nice terrace with a view of the pool. Plenty of sun beds.
Advertised daytime activities rarely took place or took place at random times so consequently our teenage children got quite bored. Some of the activity team seemed to think they were on holiday too. Food was quite good but got a bit repetitive as did the evening entertainment.
You need to find your own amusement and Naama Bay and Old Sharm are worth a visit. Trips can be booked there for a fraction of what the hotel reps charge e.g. we paid £100 for all 4 of us to go to Cairo as opposed to £135 each that the reps were charging. We followed exactly the same itinerary. Beach and snorkeling are good.
The hotel is quite isolated and there is non-intrusive building work going on. You are near to the airport but there is no problem with noise.
Nice pools which don't get overcrowded. The resort is going to get very big.

From the moment we arrived at the airport things didn't look so good. As we arrived at the front of the check-in desk the check-in staff told us we wouldn't be sitting next to each other on the plane. We were at the start of our honeymoon and we wouldn't be sitting next to each other on the plane? I have heard of families or big groups being split up on flights, but to ask a honeymoon couple to sit apart as there weren’t enough seats was preposterous.
Following a very embarrassing 15minutes in front of a queue of people the guy finally (out of thin air) found us seats together. After feeling quite relieved we went to board the plane. The plane we were boarding looked visually very old and weathered and when told there would be no in-flight entertainment on a 5-hour flight we thought things could not get any worse.
After our 15-minute transfer from the airport it was clear to see our hotel was in an isolated and desolate area, surrounded by building works and more building works. It was far from a lively area and our dream holiday was slowly slipping away.
When we got to our room our disappointment slowly started turning to anger. We were given a ground floor box room, with 2 small single beds pushed together, a rusty bathroom with a broken shower and toilet roll holder and a mini-bar, which was a broken empty fridge. No honeymoon treatment, which our agent had said we'd receive.
We then attempted to get changed our room. However we were told that due to a Health and Safety contract between the hotel and Airtours we could not change.
After this very stressful journey and arrival, we thought we would go to the bar for a drink and to say the hotel was cheap would be the biggest over statement yet! £5.50 for two small bottles of beer, this was not cheap at all! By the second day we could no longer afford to go half board as snacks and drinks (including water) were so expensive, and we had to pay £190 to up grade to all-inclusive or we would have run out of money.
The entertainment at the hotel was like nothing I had seen before; to say it was embarrassing to watch would not reflect how bad it was. Three young guys who worked a gruelling 17-hour shift, which starts first thing in the morning and ends when the nightclubs shut, performed the main bulk of the entertainment. This included tiresome shows, which had no thought, or meaning to them what so ever.
If it wasn't bad shows we had to watch it would be their form of cabaret and live music instead, which was continuous showings of Michael Jackson videos followed by a large projector screen showing re-runs of You’ve Been Framed. Unfortunately for us we had to put up with this, as we had no other alternative, as the nearest main town was 20min taxi journey away.
After becoming all-inclusive in the hotel you then become 2nd class citizens. There is just one bar for all-inclusive residents at the top of a set of really dangerous stairs, where you are met bar a large queue and a bar man who could only just about manage a smile if he was greeted by a generous tip.
The beach by our hotel was nothing like it was described to us by our agent and we yet again felt let down by her clear lack of knowledge of the destination.
By far the worst part of our holiday was the fact we suffered diarrhoea and bad stomachs for most of the time we were there. This was due to the terrible hygiene and washing of glasses in the hotel. This was something that was experienced by at least 75% of all guests’ and was not something we wanted to be experiencing on our honeymoon, hardly romantic.
This hotel was by no way a 4* and miles away from being the 5* treatment we were promised.
The hotel had only been all-inclusive for 4months and it quite evidentially showed, it was badly run and everything was positioned in awkward places. People on half board had extensive waiter service and could get drinks twice as fast as people in all-inclusive.
More over it was probably easier to get a drink than to find our rep that seemed to avoid this hotel like the plague (I wonder why?).
One thing we also weren’t told was that this hotel is predominantly Italian. We had to put up with Italian singing and Italian music every day and night that we were there. The music they played around the pool was turned up to a volume that not even the hardest of clubbers could relax to.
The one time we tried to leave the hotel we decided we'd enquire about visiting the pyramids, to which we were informed would cost us 175 English pounds each. This was by no means affordable for anyone on holiday and we yet again felt mislead.
Finally it was time to leave our nightmare honeymoon and surely nothing else could go wrong? Until we eventually bumped in to the Travel Rep who decides to break the news to us that on the flight home we'd have to sit apart unless we could pay a booking fee. This seemed to be one of the most ridiculous requests I'd ever heard. We already paid for our holiday and seats on a flight, so why on earth should you pay to sit next each other, with all the larger groups/families on board how hard could it be to sit a couple together.
This was the perfect icing on the cake for us and I was in tears most of the plane journey home as I was forced to sit on my own on my honeymoon.
On reflection and in no uncertain terms this was probably the worst holiday we’ve ever been on. We have waited 7 long years to go on holiday abroad and we feel so angry that we were persuaded to go to Egypt.
I know that these views were indeed shared by many of the hotels guests and I only hope they to express themselves in the way in which I have in order to prevent other people going through such disappointment.

Where do I start! Its in the middle of nowhere, the so called entertainment is abysmal, its marketed as a 4* but the rooms are more like 2*.
My girlfriend wanted to leave after 3 days, we couldn’t stand the boredom. The food, while plentiful, is very monotonous same for lunch as it is for dinner.
While there are 3 bars, only 2 are all inclusive, the aida bar resembles a 1960 working mans club inc flock wallpaper, the nice bar is not all inclusive, drinks to be paid for.
Pool bar is the only place serving any drink that is cold!!! The beer is well watered down. 1 couple we met likened the hotel to the TV programme tenko!
I don’t know what hotel the other reviews are writing about , but it is not the same 1 I’m writing this from, and we still have 2 days to go, god help us.
