Me and my daughter have just stayed at these apartments for two weeks, and althought they are very basic, we cannot complain for the excellent price we payed.
The pool area is very clean and there are plenty of sunbeds, so there is always room for everyone!!
If you plan to come to these apartments, it is advisable to bring your own kettle and toaster as these are not provided.
We found the staff very helpful. It's a five minute walk to the main road and a ten minute walk to the beach, which is fantastic.
All in all, we had a very good holiday here, and are going to come again.
- Advice: It is a quite resort, ideal for families and couples.

id like to agree with a few of the points raised about oasis.
My partner and i have just returned today from a one week stay at oasis tigaki apartments booked last minute through olympic holidays.
Generally my partner and I were quite happy with our stay, so therefore I gave it a 5 out of 10.
Pool was lovely, and we enjoyed sunbathing there and swimming some days. mostly occupied by couples and a couple of families. No trouble-makers of any kind. Although some teenagers did get a bit over exited in the pool with the lilos during our stay, which did make it difficult for us to swim. Although the prices at the pool bar were extortionately high, so we only ate there once, and had a crap breakfast of cold toast. And it all came to about 8 euros. We ate in tigaki after this every day.
From day one our toilet seat was broken and although we complained the owner went mad at us for mentioning it,and threatened to sack the poor cleaner. And had a massive go at her in front of us which was bang out of order i thought. And also there were two other little cleaner girls who cleaned our apartment every day, so our apartment was reasonably clean. Toilet seat remained unfixed, for whole of hol.
We found our apartment basic but satifactory just as a base, but as said above is hardly self-catering and you end up eating out all the time.
Greek people were very welcoming in the village, and bar people very friendly also. But the prices in resterants are a rip off, and in general in greece, that we spent all our currency.
I would go back to tigaki, but not to these apartments.
The olympic rep was useless. No help whatsoever, anytime, and we never even saw here. Only about once.

We stayed here in June 2008 for a fortnight. Firstly I have been to Greece and its Islands many times so know what to expect. I went with my wife and daughter aged 11.
All the people we met who were staying at the hotel were great and we made some great friends. Tingaki is a fantastic place if you want good food and a relaxing holiday. If you want to get drunk and party all night go elsewhere(please).
the apartments were basic but clean. I haven't got ant complaints about cleanliness, we had about half a dozen cockroaches the whole 2 weeks (my wife hates them). you need air con and it isn't cheap but you'll cook without it. Self catering it isn't, two hob rings and some pans................that's your lot.
The chap in charge (who's name I can't recall) to be honest is a miserable beggar. He kicks off if you so much as have a bottle of water or packet of crisps at poolside if you haven't purchased them from him. I understand it's his living but he was downright rude and didn't mind doing it in public. it's a shame really because the hotel is in a nice spot and although basic if he had been nicer I might have considered going back to that hotel, as it is he won't be getting my custom again. However if you do buy stuff from him he treats you like royalty. Strange because most Greeks are so friendly. Maybe he's just had enough.
I have never been back to the same resort twice yet (and I'm in my 40's) but I'm going back to Tingaki again 2009 because I liked it so much !! (Different appt's mind).
Most places in the resort are about the same price so go for what you like. We tried pretty much all of them and most are great. Try the local red wine, chilled cheap and lovely.
Tingaki is quiet, hot and relaxed.Because of the euro it's not the cheapest but what the hell, your on holiday. We travelled to Kos town, very nice but too busy for me. Horses for courses I guess.
I would thoroughly recommend Tingaki for a relaxing holiday but I won't go back to the Oasis, purely because of the owner (his wife by comparison was lovely - but I don't like being treated the way he treated me once or twice, and I witnessed him do the same to others).
- Advice: go there to relax, unwind and forget about your troubles !!!!
- Activities: meni, oneiro and the chinese (name i forget)

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 weeks in July. When we first arrived we was taken to our room, which was one in the old block. It hadn't been cleaned and the balcony door wouldn't lock, also, there was no air conditioning. You can hire fans for 10 euro per week.
We wanted to change rooms and also wanted air-conditioning so we went down to reception and Holly, the Olympic rep was there. we managed to get a room with air-con but it was 8 euros per night, 112 in total but believe me, it was money well spent!
The room was basic but i have no complaints. The view from the balcony was amazing!
The pool was lovely, the owners take great pride in the pool. Its large, always clean and always plenty of loungers!
The food was nice (no where need as bad as some people have said) but we preferred to eat in Tingaki.
To get to the town its about a 5-10 minute walk and i thought it was a nice walk as you pass a farm with chickens. In Tingaki, there are quite a few tavernas and bars either way. The nicest places for breakfast we thought were Meni's and Pigeez. The nicest places for tea were Grand Salle, Meni's and Spiros, in our opinion.
Kivotos was a nice bar with pool tables and there were 2 late bars, Memories and Mascots. Mascots did Roy Chubby Brown and Ali G tribute nights.
We went into Kos Town quite a few times, on the bus it cost 3.60 Euros for two of us - bargain!! There are many more late bars and clubs there for those who think 2am is too early to go home. It cost about 10-15 Euros in a taxi home.
I wouldn't bother going to the welcome meeting, its just all Olympic, Olympic, Olympic and how they can make more money! If you are going to book excursions i would advise to use the companies in Tingaki, they don't rip you off as much. We went on the Kos Town bar crawl with Olympic, which was a good night. We went on Greek Night, that was a great laugh and i would definately recommend that one! Also went to the Water Park (really good fun), Thermal Springs (VERY relaxing) and Paradise Beach (loadsa water sports and a gorgeous beach). The water sport prices are reasonable and so much fun, especially paragliding, i didn't want i to end! we went on them with the ones in Tingaki!
We also hired a Quad Bike for the day. It cost 20 Euros but you have to fill it up with petrol yourself! If you hire one i recommend that you don't fill it up to the top, we did and didn't really use any of it (even though we went nearly all round the island) the guy wouldn't give us any money for the left over petrol and we later seen him pumping it out, either for his own vehicle or to sell it back to the petrol station! cheeky sod!
Tingaki beach is lovely, but there is seaweed, and the sand get SOOO hot, you have to run to the sea so you don't get your feet burnt! The loungers are really comfy, they have big fat cushions on them, not sure but think we paid something like 7 Euros for 2 loungers and a brolly.
Mosquitos! Horrible little things! They ate me alive! I tried everything i could think of to make them go away, but they didn't! They did get bored in the 2nd week though, and turned on him instead ha! so make sure you keep your patio door shut at night and also your bathroom door, as they can come up through drains!
The owners are such lovely people, very welcoming and helpful when you needed them! As we were leaving both Bill and his wife gave me a goodbye kiss!
It was 34 degrees most days and after the summer weve had I'm glad we saw the sun for 2 weeks!
I would have given this holiday 10 but the issue with the first room and the Mosquitos i thought an 8 would do!
All in all, i absolutely LOVED every single minute of this holiday, and would definately recommend this hotel and this resort to anyone!

My partner and I booked our holiday at the oasis last minute, only about 4 weeks before we went. The holiday was very cheap (less than £300 per person for 2 weeks) so I think it's fair to say that we were fairly aprehensive about the place! We flew from manchester and arrived early hours of the morning (after a flight with Monarch with hardly any leg room-book the extra room seats!!).
The room we were in was in the oldest part of the hotel (which I believe is due to be refurbished this winter) and was very basic, which to be fair we were expecting. But it did have a lovely big balcony which was shaded so kept the room cool! If you dont have a room with air con (which we didn't) then get a fan 20 euros for the fortnight and well worth it! But dont sleep with your door open-mossies are rife!
The oasis itself is brilliantly positioned, only 15mins stroll from the beach, and 5 mins stroll from the main street of Tingaki. The beach was ok, but full of seaweed, which put us off. The pool at the oasis on the other hand was lovely, very clean, very big and there were plenty of free sunbeds, all the owners ask is that you dont take your own food or drink around the pool (or if you do take your own water-make sure it's the same brand or fill up the bottle you bought!). The hotel is run by 3 brothers, who are pleasant, they always say hello to you and are helpful if you need anything. One thing I would say is, don't bother with the food at the snack bar-it's overpriced and not that good, either get food in from the supermarket or go to the sunshine taverna, around the corner from Oasis-much cheaper and nicer even for beans on toast! The pool bar is open in the evening but to be honest when we were there, it lacked atmosphere and no one hung around there-everyone went to the town.
We had one small problem over the course of the holiday with the cleaner, but the one thing I would say is if you have a problem-talk to Elena, she is brilliant and will sort it out straight away, we waited a few days before saying anything, and I wished we'd spoken to her sooner, she was very professional and a lovely lady.
The resort of Tingaki itself, is quite small, there are about 15 or so tavernas and 10 or so bars which are all family friendly, although one has a "disco" inside if you want that sort of thing! The restaurants that we particularly liked, were Vasilis (on the right hand side and you walk toward the beach), spyros (left hand side) and also Milos (right hand side-with a windmill!!) they were the nicest. The bar that we liked best was Kivotos, really friendly staff, a mixture of locls and tourists and the cheapest beer we could find. As for supermarkets, the ones on the main street tended to be fairly expensive and limited choice so we went to Konsantinos which you find by walking away from the direction of the beach on the main road, it's about 10 mins walk from the oasis, but this had much more choice and was a lot cheaper.
When we were in Tingaki, we hired Bikes from Nikos (on the main road nearer to the beach-for about E10) and cycled to Kos town, I would definaltely reccomend it! We left about 9am so it wasnt too hot and it took about 40 mins, but it's all flat, it was a nice change. We also went to Bodrum for the day and to Xia to watch the sunset-all good fun! One thing I will say though is that if you are going to book trips, don't book through your tour operator, Theokritis travel is on the main street nearer the bottom towards the beach and is brilliant. It is run by a British lady married to Greek guy and they are brilliant-and muc better value for money.
Overall, the holiday was lovely, oasis was value for money and great for a relaxing holiday, I'd definatley go back!

I booked my holiday in the Oasis Beach apartments after reading all the previous goods reports. I have been to Tingaki 3 times and spent every summer holiday for the past 15 years on one of the Greek Islands (including several trips to Crete & Zante) and so I believe I can give my opinion based upon many years and experiences in Greek resorts.
Incidentally, Tingaki beach is one of the best Greek beaches I have used – and this is made even better by the lavish & comfortable beach loungers available for hire with 4 inches of mattress (6 euros for 2 loungers and a large umbrella for the day).
Generally:
This year, we were in a party of 6 and were in 3 adjacent apartment rooms in the newest block.
I’ll confess to having arrived with reasonably high expectations and so upon arrival was immediately slightly disappointed at the distance this complex was from the main centre. No major drama but a little further than I like to walk carrying inflatable’s etc from the beach etc. in 40 degree temperatures or after a big meal and a few beers in the evening!
The hotel itself is what I’d describe as untidy. It was clearly one block of apartments when it started and it has been growing ever since but they don’t seem to spend time or money on the adjoining areas which were dusty and patched up. Still no big drama given these apartments are cheaper than most
The rooms were acceptable in layout & size plus the maid/cleaning service was quite good. Facilities were nothing to write home about, but adequate as a base providing you don’t interpret ‘self catering’ to actually mean there are realistic facilities to do this. The shower was poor and the water supply dire (more later) and lacked even a clip for the shower-head so you needed to hold it up with one hand - what's that about? – would’ve taken 2 mins to fit a clip.
The pool was excellent – clean water and a nice size. The paving slabs around the pool at the far end seem to have subsided about 6” in the lowest area and as with many communal areas at this place there has been nothing done about it. Again, no big dramas providing you don’t stub your toe on a lifted slab. A clear accident waiting to happen for kids though! It was open from 10am-7pm.
OK – now the downside:
We tend to stay round the pool until the last minute which was only 7pm in this place. It is still lovely at this time of day but the hoteliers decide to close it at 7pm and kick everyone out (and they’re quite abrupt & rude at doing so). This is when the water gets topped up and chlorine added. Why they can’t do this at 6 or 7 in the morning I don’t know given they don’t open again until 10am. My kids loved a quick swim after coming back from the beach but this was rarely before 7pm.
Now my biggest beef. We tended to get back into our apartment for a shower at about 7.45pm. By this time I accept that solar heated *hot* water may be running out – but 10 of the 14 night we stayed, the water completely stopped between about 8 and 9pm. Naturally this happened just after my wife was covered in shampoo & soap and so she couldn’t rinse off – then got soap in her eyes (I’m sure you can picture the resulting drama). I ended up rinsing her in drinking water from the fridge (imagine the screams! – what a way to start the evening). We put up with it for 3 days thinking it must just be unlucky and then decided to mention it to the owner the following morning. This is the point where the owner ceased to be friendly. It is obvious that any kind of complaint pisses him off.
He mumbled; then marched up to the apartment at 9am, went in without asking if it was convenient and turned on all the taps. I explained again that the water was fine in the morning - but he ignored me and said, “Look, look water – see water – no problem – stupid complaint” and marched out again waving his hands in the air. Later on, his wife said to me that it was not their fault, it was the water supply to the whole of Tingaki resort which was failing. Strangely, no-one else from any other hotel had an issue. So – you need to bear in mind the unreliable water supply (maybe they divert it all to the pool – not sure). Only way round it is to shower at about 7pm latest.
In short I found this complex below par in comparison to other places I have stayed in, and the staff generally abrupt and unhelpful unless you continue to spend lots of money there for food and alcohol and their battered fans (which we stopped doing after this incident).
Oh – that reminds me, their breakfast is total pants – 'full English' is 4 Euro (before 11am or 5 euro after 11). They don’t heat the baked beans at all (straight out of the tin), the bacon is a thin fatty slither and the sausage is the cheapest of cheap mechanically recovered meat hot-dog type. Other breakfasts such as a simple 2 fried eggs on toast is 3 euro’s but they then charge extra for the orange juice and a cup of tea and so it costs nearer 6 euros!
As a result I would recommend a 10 min walk towards the beach brings you to the Meni hotel restaurant where the English breakfast is awesome – absolute quality.
In short, I would definitely NOT stay at this complex again as there are much much better alternatives – especially if you can be bothered to book direct and organise your own flights. The Meni hotel or the Mythos hotel are far superior and work out a similar price if you can get flights for under £250 and they are both in perfect resort positions.

Reading the reviews I thought o my days! What have I got myself into.
But as it was my first holiday away from parents myself and my friend decided to go with an open mind. 2 weeks we had ahead of us!
We arrived in the early hours of Thursday morning we were directed to our room and went in.
The room was basic but that’s what it says in the booklet and that’s what Greece is! we only used our room for sleeping so it didn’t bother us! The only problem we had was there was only one bowl between 2 but we just had to wash it that’s what waters for!
Can’t fault much at all, the beds were changed once a week but there was an extra sheet incase, also there were clean towels changed regularly.
There were plenty of sun beds and the pool was kept clean and so was the area around the pool. entertainment was 3 times a week.
The family that ran the place were really nice an helpful but Nikos' mood changed like the wind, mostly he was ok an chirpy.
Kevin the cockroach killer as me and my friend named him was awesome very helpful an funny he surely did keep us amused.(only had one cockroach it was our fault too!). Apollo the great Dane was a big softy we hardly saw him an when we did he wasn’t bothered by anything he just liked his photo been taken!
The food from the pool bar was nice can’t fault it and was reasonably priced.
There was a mini mart on the side of the bar but it was a bit basic so going into Kos town is best but its 7 Euros so it does mount up. It’s not walking distance despite what the booklet says and the road isn’t safe to walk along either but taxis didn’t bother us. we also had problems finding the beach but after Kevin told us it was simple and for 13 Euros you can go to Tingaki beach which is really nice the sea is clear sun loungers are 3 Euros for all day really nice.
Bar street is great for a night out and there are nice tavernas too along the dock front to eat out or chill.
People need to come with a open mind it says 2 star so that’s what you get everything was clean and the family was lovely and helpful and it was a great holiday I would go back to see them again especially to see Kevin the cockroach killer!
Really pleased with the holiday and was sad to go, well recommended.

We booked this holiday about a month before we went and got quite a good deal with Olympic holidays for two weeks. The apartments are lovely, quite basic but nice and clean. We stayed in a separate block from the main one which is the one you see as soon as you pull up to the hotel. I think this block was newer as it had air conditioning fitted already and I don't think the rest did.
However, we didn't pay for the air conditioning as we were on a tight budget but the one night we did desperately need it because of the heat the man charged us 10 euros for just one night! I don't think this is normal though as the woman had previously told us 6 euros for one night and I think the man must have just disliked us because he did call us stupid for not paying for it for the whole time.
The pool was brilliant, usually some free sunbeds throughout the day but beware the deep end is very deep - 2.5m. We mostly chose to go to the beach though, its only about a 10 minute walk. It was much busier the further right you go but if you walk onto the beach, take a left and walk for a little it is much quieter - carry on walking that way and you will reach the nudest beach. Sunbeds were about 5 euros for two but we bought an umbrella from the supermarket for just 3.95 which saved us quite a lot.
Tingaki itself is a lovely place with a main street leading down to the beach is where most of the restaurants and bars are. There are two 'disco bars' which open till 4am but no big clubs so if that is what you want I think Kardamena would be better. I would recommend hiring bikes for only 3 to 5 euros per day. We rode to Marmari which is about 6km away - nice beach there. We also went to the waterpark on the organised trip with Olympic for 23 euros. It was good fun but there's not loads to do and the day was quite short from just 11am till 3pm. We also got the public bus to Kos Town for the day which only took about 15 minutes and was well worth doing.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Oasis Studios and Tingaki as a resort. If you're looking for somewhere with enough going on so you don't get bored but not somewhere with a really rowdy night-life then it's for you!

Three of us visited Kos for the first time during August, 2007 (our party age range is 60, 34 and 10), so we needed to find somewhere suitable for all of us - not an easy task.
We stayed at the Oasis for two weeks, the second week being extremely hot (100+!). The Oasis and Tigaki in general, benefits from a lovely breeze, but not on that week! The only escape was to get yourself into the excellent pool. In fact the pool is so good that people from other apartments try to get in there too!
The owners, are three brothers - Vasilis (Bill), Yiannis (John) and Giorgio (George), who are rightly proud of the pool and who take great pleasure in trying to ensure you are well looked after. They are particularly mindful of safety, especially for the children.... and have infinite patience with them. Our 10 year old felt completely at home and is adamant he wants to go back to see them all.
The apartments are basic, but clean, with views of the mountains on one side, and the salt lake and farmland on the other. We had a one-bed apartment, which was fairly spacious. The one drawback is that you need to hire fans (which are about £10 for 2 weeks) as there is no air-con.
However, it is very quiet, with no traffic noise and yet it is only a five minute walk to the tavernas and bars.
The apartments complex (well, three small blocks) are surrounded by palm trees, and on one side, gardens, with various fruit trees and vegetables. Tigaki and the beach are 10 minutes stroll max and the food is just great. This is a small resort, but there are a few very late bars for those people who want to party. Alternatively, Kos Town is just a short distance away. We hired a quad and a baggy and we all loved using them. You can't get lost on this island, it's not big enough.
The Greek people are very laid back, welcoming, and polite, and you don't get hassled to buy, eat, or drink if you don't want to, which makes a refreshing change. The beach is clean (it cost us 5 Euros for 3 sunbeds) and the doughnut seller comes round with fresh gorgeous, huge doughnuts. If you just want a snack you can buy kebabs, pasties pizzas or pastries to eat in, munch as you walk, or take back to your apartment.
If you have your own transport the go-kart track is a five minute drive, and the Water park (which is very good) is no more than ten minutes away, and close to quaint little resort (Mastahari) with a small harbour where you can try the catch of the day at one of the tavernas.
Oh, and yes, before we went, I saw reviews that said there are mega numbers of mozzies - there are mozzies, but no more than anywhere else... and I should know, they always eat me!
All in all, this holiday was just the best, something for everyone, and we will go back.

Situated off the main high street in Tingaki, and approx a good 15/20 minute walk to the beautiful beach, the Oasis Studios and Apartments are set in a great area - on one side you have the fantastic mountains and on the other side views of the salt lake and sea views looking out onto other islands.
However, despite the location we will not be returning to the Oasis.
Having been to Tingaki four times this is the worst apartments we have stayed in. The cleanliness is appalling, the self catering facilities extremely limited to say the least, and to top it all the staff are obnoxious and rude.
These are family run apartments, which we always prefer to stay in because you usually get a more personal service, but the family are old, fussy and have nothing good to say from one day to the next.
The pool area is clean, the pool water warm but the sun beds are hard with no cushions (unlike the ones down at the local beach).
We had a great holiday as always in Tingaki, that is why we have been back four times, but we will not be going back to the Oasis.

My family and I have just returned from our first holiday to the Greek Islands. We stayed at Oasis apartments in Tingaki, do not mistake these for the Oasis apartments in Kos town, these are family run apartments.
We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, it was relaxing and the weather was very hot. We were a 10 - 15 minute walk to the local taverna’s, restaurants, shops and beach.
The apartment was very basic but clean, we took ant powder with us and put this all round the room which killed any cockroaches already in the apartment we had 2 first day but no more after this. The cleaner came every day except on Sunday and clean sheets on Wednesday.
Bill who was there during the day serving at he bar was very friendly and we had breakfast for 4 euros for a few days until we went into town and found Pigeeze.
The pool was very clean and plenty of sun beds around the pool. The only draw back was that the apartments we stayed in did not have air conditioning and the nights were very uncomfortable, although you can hire fans for 10 euros a week, this helped a little.
We found the people of Tingaki very friendly, there were plenty of taverna's and restaurants to eat in. We tried nearly a different one each night and a couple twice. All the menus are much the same but slightly different prices but not a lot in it really. We went to the New Rodini's twice and had a very warm welcome lovely meals and good children’s menu and we were given a drink on the house and children an ice cream afterwards. The Mylos and Sagittarius were also very good.
We also went to the Sunshine which is situated just off a side road staff were really friendly and we often called in for a drink on the way home and occasionally used their pool as they are also Olympic Holidays and we received 10% discount.
We went on several trips and booked through theoritos and they were very helpful. We went on the 3 Island hopping and had a lovely day; we went to the Volcano, which is well worth the experience.
We also went to Turkey, the water park and the sunset at Zia. The water park although not large had several slides and a large play area for the younger children with plenty of food and drink places you are not allowed to take your own food or drink in. There are plenty of sun beds, we did no have to queue when we went there and really enjoyed the day.
We thoroughly recommend Tingaki and will definitely be going back again.
This would have been a 10/10 review, had the apartments had air conditioning.

We have just returned from our holiday in Kos. Overall we had a great holiday in Tigaki.
We are both 20 and found it a great place for a quiet break, but would choose to go somewhere a bit more lively next time as Tigaki offers little more than one stretch of shops and a few restaurants and bars along with the beach front, Kos town is close by with many more options for activities. The weather was beautiful all week with the temperature being above 30 everyday.
We ate in 3 nice restaurants, Vassils which does a really nice Lamb Kleftiko, Meni which is great for pizza but uses a lot of whole peppercorns which spoilt the pasta a little and Oneiro which we ate at twice as it had the best food, prices and service easily the best restaurant to eat at.
Something that put a down on the holiday was the amount of mosquitoes there are. There is a salt lake situated within 50 metres from the hotel which has still water, there are litarly thousands of mosquitoes. We had insect repelant that we used without spare and they didn't seem to care. YOU WILL GET BITTEN! We seriously recommend buying a mosquitoe net to sleep under and tropical strength repelant (the repelant will not work on its own). The amount of bites made us very uncomfortable and made it difficult to sleep along with the heat at night.
We took factor 30 suncream thinking that this was sensible but this wasn't enough as we ended up burning after apllying plenty on a regular basis. I recommend factor 50.
Our room we stayed in was very basic but was enough. we were able to cook the meals we needed with the cooking facilities we were provided although there wasn't any washing up liquid, dish cloths or much hot water. The maids came into our room and emptied the bins everyday. On our second day we came back to our room after a day out and the maids had been in and left our door unlocked.
Overall we had a great holiday and would go back to the island but somewhere that has more to do and less mosquitoes.
