Tingaki is a fantastic place and my partner and I had a brilliant time the week we stayed there.
The Oasis Studios and Apartments are just as nice, we stayed in Studio No.1. The view out of the balcony was of the salt lakes to the right and lovely greenery and mountains to the left. It is set well back from the main street, but this is not a bad thing as you can get away to peace and quiet.
The pool is a good size with a smaller pool for the little ones and a nice snack bar. It is owned by 3 brothers who are all very friendly and do their best to help you and make your
holiday a good one. The room is cleaned most days, but remember to put your towels on the beds as if you don't we found you didn't get clean ones!
When you leave, as in most hotels you have to leave the room at 12, but for an extra 25 euros you can keep the room on until 7pm. A safety deposit box is 15 euros for the week.
The main street in Tingaki has many lovely restaurants that serve great food and at reasonable prices too. Good bars to relax in at night, all with friendly staff and some entertainment.
The shops in Tingaki are good too, we got some great gifts to take home! We got the local bus to Kos Town €3.20 for the two of us, where there are plenty of shops to spend the day in. Kos town also has a lot of history which we did not have time to visit.
The beach is brilliant, clean, cheap sunbeds (7 euros for 2 and a parasol) and the option of water sports too. Many beach snack bars run along the stretch of the beach that all serve breakfast and small snacks throughout the day!
Many many trips to do, with the option of going with your tour company or independent comapnies along the main street which are slightly cheaper. Nisyros (a small island with an active volcano) is a must! We had a fab time!
We are planning on going back next year to do it all again and many more trips!
We would recommend this to anyone who is after a good relaxing holiday in a great resort, good food and friendly people!!

The apartments are situated in a wonderful green garden with palms and flowers. 5 minutes walk from the centre of Tingaki and the bus station to Kos town{15 min.}
Behind the apartments is the salt lake with many birds and a wonderful chapel. To reach the beach its 8 minutes walk.
The beach is clean, not so much people, * 2 sun beds and umbrella cost 7 Euro. Nice shops, tavernas, bars with menus. After 2-3 visits is the stuff/owner very friendly, know all your family members name and gives a very good price -20%.
But back to the apartments - basic kitchen corner /for food you can visit a large supermarket in the end of Tingaki with very good prices/, small but clean bathroom.
The rooms are situated to the garden or to the sea-lake and mountain with a balcony - chairs and table. In the garden is a really good pool, very clean and you’ll get lots of time a place to relax beside.
The bar, lounge - with a large TV *satellite with pay TV for football and billiard are also nice. The owners Vasilis and his wife Elena are so friendly and love children so much.
Kos town costs with a taxi 6 Euro, and is very nice - with historical places like the Castle, old Greek Spa, Platan of Hypocrates- father of medicine, but also Disco, bars and tavernas with fantastic food.
Don’t forget the trip to Bodrum - Bazaar Turkey.
We loved this place! Quite place for staying with children in Oasis and nightlife in Kos town or Tingaki centre! I wish you all nice holidays in Kos or other wonderful places !

The Tingaki Oasis Studios are just...
8 / 10
Sep 2006, Mrs Gail Lister

The Tingaki Oasis Studios are just that, an oasis in the middle of fabulous scenery; to the one side of our apartment we had views of the mountains (on which sits the beautiful village of Zia - well worth a visit). To the other side was the salt lake, the colour of which seemed to change throughout the day; beyond the salt lake was the sea and the distant mountains that the sun disappeared behind each evening. Not forgetting the palm trees right outside the balcony too, at night with the stars behind them and blowing in the morning breeze - bliss!!
The apartments themselves are quite basic and perhaps in need of a bit of an update with decor etc, however they were comfortable, clean and quite adequate for what you need. The kitchen facilities for self catering were limited - a fridge, a two ring cooker, one pot and a set of crocks each - oh and not forgetting the little dinky pot to boil your water for your coffee! This was a bit of a surprise but who intends on cooking every night?
The pool was extremely well maintained - lots of space, plenty of sun loungers (no pads though - get a cheap lilo) and very clean. The pool is set in an open area so no shadows crept over the pool and there's another area to sit in if you choose to be away from the pool.
Everyone at the Oasis was friendly - this is a family run complex and you are made to feel very welcome - definitely a place to return to.

Tingaki was a really good holiday and very relaxing!
Although the apartments were simple and plain it was still an all round excellent holiday.
The apartments that we stayed in were down the road and the town was very close to us, as was the sea. The pool was reasonably big and there was a little baby pool next to it for the children. There was a bar and a place to get your food, in the bar was a pool table which we always played on and made friends there.
There were lots of pubs and bars for the young adults to go to and also quiet places in other parts of the town for people who are not so interested in that. The restaurants were peaceful and the waiters and waitresses were friendly. They served English food e.g. chips, pizza etc but they also served Greek food for anyone who wanted a change of dining.
This was an amazing holiday, I really enjoyed it and we made some great friends. The one thing that spoilt it though was that the two planes crashed into the world trade centre the day before we were due to leave, which frightened us when we got on the plane the next day, other than that it was amazing!
I would recommend this holiday to everyone, it is relaxing and peaceful and it is great for families, couples or friends jus wanting to have a good time on there holiday!
