Horizon Beach Resort Hotel

Reception, Restaurants and Spa were very nice but rooms were very basic.
If you are in a room near reception, the stairs or the restaurants then prepare for noise.
Noise when they move the tables, take deliveries or people come back drunk at all hours.
The rooms were very large with 2 double beds, kitchenette and bath with shower and separate shower cubicle but were in need of decorating.
Just a 2 minute walk to patong beach so great if that's what you want but Patong beach is very lively and can be a bit overbearing and at times annoying because everywhere you go it either "You come look at souvenirs", "You buy suit" or "You want taxi".
You can get quite fed up of saying no.
Beware of tailors on the roads as some can offer a very poor service and it's too late as they will have already taken half of your money in the form of a deposit.
The restaurants in the hotel are quite cheap but there are even cheaper ones on the few roads near by the hotel.
You can get a main course for between £1.20 and £4.00 dependant upon what you like to eat.
I would recommend going to Phang Na, Fantasea, Simon Cabaret (Ladyboys) and Elephant trekking as these are great experiences and very good value for money.
You can book these in the hotel but barter over the prices as there can be some leeway.
I would highly recommend the hotel spa as the treatments are usually on offer and are excellent value for money compared to the UK and the spa itself, is very nicely decorated and very relaxing.
Would also recommend Travelmood tour operators as they were excellent, as we tailor made our holiday with them and they were very cheap without compromising on quality.
They also use local tour operators so you can get an excellent insight into the best places to go and the best things to do.
