Hi All
Had a great time in Kos, plenty of places to eat and drink. Try the Agora restaurant you get plenty of food for a real good price.
You have to go down bar street and go to Hamam club, you get 2 cocktails for the price of 1, and Mike the mad waiter is fantastic, he's such a laugh.
We would definatly go back to Kos, it's such a lovely place with plenty to do, go to the marina and go on the boat rides to Turkey and Rhodes.

Just got back from Kos this morning, so a bit tired. Ampavris is a lovely family run business with a great atmosphere. The apartments are basic, but very clean and comfortable. The staff are great, very helpfull. Thanks Chris for giving me and my daughter a lift back up to the apartments, couldn't have done the walk up the road, even though it only takes about 10 mins. We had a neighbourly cockeral that would wake us early in a morning, got used to him after a few days. Gotta go to Hamam Club on Bar Street and see Mike the mad waiter, he's brill had us all in stiches. Hopefully going back next year.

It was my first holiday in six years and I booked a holiday with 6 of my friends. I couldn't have asked for a better place, the rooms were adequate, the pool was lovely and the walk down to the centre was about 15 minutes down hill, so remember the walk back later!
George the owner and his family all run the bar and it is manned 24 hours day. They are lovely and I will never forget the big smiles there to greet you every morning. There is air con and safe facilities both are great.
The animals that surround Ampavris are mainly cockerels, however they surround the whole area so you would here them wherever you are, and dogs do bark but not often.
I highly recommend this place!! I loved it and my friends and I are planning to go back again this year!!!

This was our second time here and it is a great place to stay, Kos town is amazing! Have to go back next year! Family who own and run the apartments are so friendly and make the holiday!
Pay for the day trips in town... not with the reps you will save so much money. Beware of the day trip to Turkey although the bags are great value (and some of the clothes), the people in the shops stand outside trying to get you to come in, that's fine but a lot of them get so aggressive and nasty! If you do go to Turkey take the Maria Star boat, you'll find the boat on the harbour just walk onto it and pay, lovely family.
Kos is fantastic!

Nice enough apartments. Surprised no-one has mentioned the fact its in the middle of farms - the noise from various animals is unbelievable, not to mention dogs barking from all round the area.
Family atmosphere was nice, there were no noisy idiots, but hard to say if we were just lucky that week The walk into town is easy enough, 15 mins I’d say
Surprised people are saying the food at the pool bar was good, because it really wasn't. But then it is only a pool bar.
Pool area - nice clean pool, plenty of sun beds, but not enough shade around it - the palm tree style umbrellas are pretty poor and don't offer much shade at all. There is however, a grassy area over to one side that offers plenty of shade under trees, though watch out as the family dog seems to do its business there quite a lot.
Nice small shop nearby, where you can get all your essential foodstuffs etc.

Had a fantastic holiday with my ten year old daughter and her friend. These apartments were absolutely ideal for us. Eleni, George and all the family were really friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere in the pool and at the bar, lovely and affordable food at the snack bar.
Kos town is just a pleasant 20minute walk away or only 5 euros in a taxi and there really is something there for everyone - great shopping, bars, restaurants, plenty of historical sites and a brilliant waterpark
The apartments were basic but spotlessly clean and the air conditioning was a godsend.
We will definitely be back!

This is a very good, family run, complex, located in the village of Ambavri, on the outskirts of Kos Town.
Apartments are typically Greek- basic and kept very clean - set mainly in 2 blocks. The older block does not have air conditioning.
Facilities centre around the pool area, which is of reasonable size and would have adequate sunbeds if not for those guests leaving towels on all day.
Food (cafe style menu) & drink are of good quality. The family owners are very friendly and helpful.
The nearest supermarket is a short walk. The Ambavri taverna is approx. 400m towards town.
The location means either a taxi or a walk to the town. The road is rural, not brightly lit at night and does not contain any steep inclines. It will take approx. 15mins (leisurely stroll) to reach the outskirts of town (Casa Romana) and a further 5/10 mins to reach the harbour area.
In general, a very good location, not subject to the traffic noise etc. of the town.

A small, friendly, family run apartment complex on the outskirts of Kos Town, so you don't get all the hustle and bustle, but is close enough to all the wonderful food and shopping in the centre.
The rooms are basic but comfortable. I missed their fortnightly Greek Night, but was told by the family that it isn't a show like other Greek nights you will be offered, but a proper family Greek night where they do all the dancing (and it is very reasonably priced at 10 Euros!)
Clean pool that is maintained every night, next to the bar which is open till very late. Free pool and they offer their internet connection in the bar to anyone who wishes to check their mails etc.
Thoroughly recommended!

The Ampavris Apartments are amazing. I have been going there since 2002 and have enjoyed every minute of it.
The Sourasis Family are fantastic are always around to give a helping hand. I would recommend it to people of all ages, as there is something for everyone in Kos.
From Bar Street, to the harbour and the water park. The town centre is affordable and has a lot to choose from.
10/10 all the way.

Kos is a beautiful island and has something for everyone! I am 21 and I went away with a group of girls. We were looking for a holiday which wasn't too intense but we could still go out drinking if we wanted. Kos was perfect for this.
We chose to do activities some of the days, for example day trips to turkey, the new waterpark, the beaches and some nights we chose to go down bar street. Bar Street has an amazing atmosphere! A lot of people staying at Kardamena came over to Kos town at night as they said the atmosphere is better!
Another great activity at night is to go to the hot natural springs where you bath in water heated by a volcano! If you go at night the moon lights up the rocks and the sea and it is the most romantic place I have ever seen! Definitely worth a visit!
The Ampavaris Apartments were great! Basic accommodation but the family run atmosphere is brilliant! Everyone is always smiling and having fun. Just what you need on holiday. I would recommend these apartments to the younger crowd especially.
Kos is an island for everyone of every age, there are attractions for everyone!

Ampavri is a wonderful place that i would recommend to everyone!
I'm approaching my sixth journey to Ampavri apartments as i just cannot drag myself to visit anywhere else at the moment.
Apartments are basic but clean, service by all is tremendous, location of apartments is very good, nicely tucked away but easy access to main town. Snack bar does the job! and the bar definately does! :-)
Pool is fantastic, plenty of sunbeds strategically placed to capture the wonderful sun.
i give these aprtments 10/10 across the board - brilliant!

A truly great holiday, these apartments are about 1.5 km from Kos town centre in beautiful countryside, easy walking distance or a 5 euro taxi ride. Nice to chill out during the day but not too far from town for going out at night.
The Sourasis family, who own and run the apartments, are very welcoming and make you feel like one of the family.
The apartments and pool/bar area are immaculately clean and the food from the pool bar is great value for money.
There is a supermarket nearby which sells everything you could need.

This has got to be one of the best holidays I’ve ever been on. The hotel was lovely and really relaxing, the staff were great and really made you feel welcome.
The pool was beautiful although cold. And the food available at the bar was freshly cooked and affordable. The apartments were basic and cleaned every day. The hotel bars a great way to meet people, and Kos town is only a short walk and has a number of bars and restaurants.
I’d advise going with first choice as the rep. Amy is fantastic! Id recommend this hotel to everyone, I’ll be returning soon.

Accommodation basic but clean and well maintained.
Pleasant and quiet setting with good value snacks and brunches etc available from the pool bar.
Location a good 20 minutes steady walk from Kos town which is fine for the first few days but gets a bit tedious after a week or so.
Pleasantly surprised as the holiday was fairly cheap, ( Sunset ) via Thomas Cook but the overall standard of accommodation was much better than the norm for this type of booking.
Seemed to suit a wide age group looking for a relaxing base not too far from the main resort.
Cleaners visits a bit sporadic but they do a fairly good job when the appear.
Kos town itself has plenty of good restaurants but the best by far for service, value for money and quality of food is Jumbo in the square........ nothing else compares so don’t waste your time trying the others.
Not one for returning anywhere ( too many places still to see ) but would consider this accommodation and resort as it’s all clean, suits a wide range of people and offers plenty to do at very reasonable cost.
The day trips to Turkey, Rhodes and adjacent islands are great value for money if booked with the local agents situated just off the main square.
