Me and a friend stayed here, was a lovely hotel food was always nice and pool area always clean. Although we did not really have breakfast every morning on the odd occassion we did it was lovely and plenty to choose from, as for the evening meal could not fault it at all... more

were a family of 4,just returned from 1 week holiday in tenerife,stayed at the oro negro,can't complain about anything,staff very friendly and very helpfull,the food was very good allways plenty to choose from,a very clean complex would recomend to anyone.

After staying at this hotel 3 years in a row, I can see how much it has gone downhill. The guests are mainly spanish, therefore, the entertainment is mainly aimed at them. The food in the restaurant, is good, BUT, very repeative and lots of fish(hake, squid rings and tuna).... more

Nice hotel from luciouslinda
We have just returned from the hotel oro negro. It was a nice hotel in a central location, very handy for the Veronicas Centre. The nearest beach was a 10 minute walk. Our room was very spacious. The food wasn't great though, the same food was served a few nights in a row and alot of the food was too greasy. We found the reception staff helpful. The hotel had a very good day/night entertainment programme. The pool was nice and big and there was plenty sunbeds available. But the next time we book a holiday, think we'll book into a 4*... more

I´ve been for a week in this hotel (1st week of August) with my boyfriend (27-29) and my parents (48-56). On the first night, at about 3.15 am, I was sleeping and suddenly someone opened my room´s door. They were new guest who had just come to the the hotel. I asked for what are they doing there and they said they had the name room number as me. The couple who come with them had the same room number as my parents, who were sleeping on the room next to mine...Uau! If you value your holiday and possessions, DO NOT STAY at the Hotel Oro Negro. Where do I start??? The room initially seemed pretty good however it was not long before I discovered cockroaches in the bathroom. Although air conditioning units were fitted, they were not working. Reception staff have only a very limited understanding of English and when asking for advice are disinterested in guests to the point of blatant rudeness. We have just retruned from Tenerife after staying HB in the Oro Negro, the hotel was clean but our room had loose tiles on the floor and looked grubby!! The food was plentiful but became a bit boring towards the end of the week and all the staff were very helpful. The guests were mainly retired and Spanish, and the hotel seemed quiet whilst we were there so plenty of spare sun loungers. The Hotel Oro Negro is clean but basic. Food is uninspiring but adequate. The location is not the best being set in the red light district and it is reached on foot by walking up a fair hill.

We have just returned from Tenerife after one weeks stay at the Oro Negro. We are happy to report that we had a wonderful time and that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. We respect that everyone's experiences are different however, we can very happily say that we found the hotel,it's location, the hotel staff and the hotel food to be of an above average standard. Just returned from the hotel, stayed 6-13 Jan 2006. Had a great time weather was OK but did get quite alot of rain on 9th,and mostly cloudy after that. Hotel was very clean,lobby very bright and airy, better than some 4 stars weve stayed in.Rooms very spacious and cleaned every day, all staff were very helpful,Food was fine, but restaurant did get very busy about 9am and 8 at night and food was getting cold while waiting for other things, Menu was varied Steaks, Fish and the usual buffet. The most rude and unhelpful staff I have ever come across. Hotel clean, food good, entertainment OK. All of this was spoilt by the dismissive, arrogant and argumentative attitude of the staff, in particular those on reception who don't seem able to organise their duties. We weren't the only guests getting very frustrated with their inefficiency and rudeness before leaving the hotel. What a pity they appear to have forgotten that it is the guests (most of whom were British) who keep them in jobs. more

Loved the hotel. Entertainment at night was really good. The reception resembles that of a 4* hotel. Rooms were clean and decorated nicely. Staff were friendly. A great resort for the mature guest although we (21 and 30) had a fantastic time. Would definitely recommend. more
