" Indifferent! "
Submitted By: D MillerPlus points:
Clean, good food (which is varied and well presented), efficient lifts, good sized rooms, pleasant friendly staff and a general very pleasant ambience.
Minus points:
Not enough sunbeds to go round (even in November) maid service was a little bit "hit & Miss", queues for dining room, busy main road right outside, a little off the beaten track.

Submitted By: Mr G A WALKERThe animation club was varied and the staff unobtrusive if you didn't want to join in. They were also extremely friendly and didn't mind making a joke at your expense if they knew you were up for it. Daytime activities included mini golf, shooting, shuffle board, darts, bowls, boules plus others.
The pool was freezing (but a welcome relief some days) but it was clean and there was a small paddling pool for the younger family members. The beds were free and put away each night to stop people hogging them. Beware though, when we were there people queued for the pads during breakfast although there was enough to go round early season.
The room we stayed in was sufficient and cleaned daily.

Submitted By: G,R. ColcloughMy only grouse being that the dress code is not enforced at dinner with guests allowed into the dining room in shorts and flipflops despite the rules of the hotel. Had it not been for this small but significant item I would have rated it of 4 star standard.

Submitted By: Mrs T Harringtonstuff to order. the food was buffet type, usual crap, of chefs special fish which consisted of all leftovers covered in sauce;same with chefs special meat, which had no description of type of meat and was tasteless and tough.
found some processed cheese and square ham but there were flies on it so we just decided to eat out for the rest of the duration. the smell of fried food seemed to hang on your clothes. no reps in this hotel, you have to phone england.but there are plenty of reps in the columbus over the road to book you on over priced trips.on a more positive note there is a fab little cafe bar called mathews, just out of the hotel turn right and a couple of hundred yards down the road. very friendly and do great
breakfasts and snacks.would probably stay here on again only if it was self catering.

Submitted By: Mrs J ByrneThe hotel is, for us, ideally situated, and only 5 minutes walk from the main bars & restaurants. Our room was lovely and clean, very spacious and as we were on the south side of the building, we had an L shaped balcony, so could move around with the sun. Absolutely loads of space. The bathroom was very clean, and the only fault I would comment on, is the fact that the shower, at its full power is a bit too powerful which meant that water would escape from the shower curtain and run on to the floor.
The bedroom is very clean, ample room to put all your clothes etc. Safe requires a key from reception, we paid €18 + €10 deposit for it. Worth it for the peace of mind for your valuables! There is an air con unit, but we didn't need to use it as we had enough fresh air with the window/balcony door open - plus it was March and there is a ceiling fan.
Room was cleaned daily, and the chambermaids were very friendly, always speaking to us in passing.
The restaurant is large and we were recognised by one of the waitresses/hostess as being return visitors, which was a nice touch, I thought.
The tables were swiftly cleared and relaid for the next people - I would recommend taking something to leave on the table/chair when you go to the buffet to show you're coming back or they will clear your table and you may find someone else sitting there when you get back!
The plates were not always as clean as they could have been, but we just kept going through the stack until we found ones without any marks on, again not a huge criticism but is something that can happen in the best restaurants especially with the huge turnover at meal times.
The food! We were half board and can honestly say that we were stuffed most nights! The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of fresh fruits, cereals, ham, cheese, bread, croissants, pastries & rolls, hot sausages, beans, eggs, spanish omelette, plus they cooked omelettes, bacon and eggs to order. I had the omelette twice and it was very tasty! Also had fruit juices, water, tea & coffees to serve yourself.
Dinner had a variety of salads, cold meats, cheeses, pates, one night there were mussels which were spot on! There were also soups, bread & rolls, pizza, freshly cooked spaghetti with choice of sauce, usually 3 choices of meat/fish dishes, 2-3 different vegetables and 2-3 types of potato/rice dishes to choose from, plus the food cooked to order, with a meat (steak/chicken) or fish or burger/sausage combo. Sliced roast meat and gravy were also available.
Dessert was a variety of fruit salads, ice creams, yoghurts, pastries & cakes plus fresh fruit. The waiters took orders for drinks at the table.
Thursday night was Gala night, which I found disappointing compared to the previous year, but they also had singers and a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, and a carnation for the ladies on leaving the restaurant. I felt the food on the Wednesday, when they served mussels, was more in keeping with a Gala night, but thats just my opinion!
On the whole, the staff are friendly. The same lifeguard was there as the last time; we observed him last year permanently (it seemed) standing the warning signs about the wet floor around the pool, as soon as he moved away they fell over again... This year he had an obsession with moving tables back from the walkway and making people get mattresses from the hut for their sunbeds - the queue for those starts at 9:45 but there are plenty to go around, so we didn't bother to queue and still got them ok.
Its a nice location, fair enough if you're placed in a room overlooking the road, there may be a fair bit of traffic noise, so ask for a pool view, that is also the view over the town and sea so is lovely in the evening sitting on your balcony having a drink before going out!
We would have no hesitation in returning.

Submitted By: Mr J DouglasThe room we were allocated had two sepatate bedrooms each with its own tv and bathroom there was only two of us so to be fair on the maid we only used one.
The staff were friendly enough if you asked them anything. The hotel is clean and well run and within easy walking distance of sea front and shopping areas. I saw one those electric wheelchairs being charged up in the hotel so there is disability access. There is plenty of sunbathing room in the pool area, night entertainment is ok (if they were really good they would not be working in hotels). We never had any problem with the area the hotel was in, but then we don`t roam the streets in the middle of the night.
" We thought the hotel was stunning;... "
Submitted By: Mrs S CheethamThe position of the hotel was great, far enough from the noisy areas and within easy reach of beach, shops, and bars.
Had a fantastic day on mount Teide in a 4x4 jeep as part of a tour party to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, meet a lovely Scottish couple, our driver, Les, was great.
Our only criticism is we wish we had gone for longer.

Submitted By: Mrs P HarrisonRicardo and Oscar the entertainment staff were great fun and made playing the various games that one plays when on holiday funny. You’d better watch out for the darts if you fancy a game as they are not only lightweight but very blunt which made them bounce out of the board, there were a few near misses towards the players feet.
Good food was on offer with a big choice, I can be quite choosy when it comes to what I eat but I ate well and have no complaints about it. A very nice touch from this hotel also was the ladies receiving a carnation after dinner on the Thursday evening.
Before going to this hotel we were warned that the pool was very very cold which it was, but once in and shoulders were under the water it was very enjoyable and just like any other outdoor pool.
My only complaint and it wasn’t the hotels fault, is that it is situated at the top of a pretty steep incline, people with walking difficulties should be warned before booking a holiday here, although there are places you can hire both wheelchairs and mobility scooters plus they will deliver to the hotel. I myself have difficulties walking so I found walking down the hill ok but as taxis don’t cost an arm or leg. We used to hire one to come back to the hotel again, so this should not deter you from booking this hotel.
All in all I would not hesitate to book this hotel again should we return to the area of Playa De Las Americas.
" We spend a nice week on the Hotel... "
Submitted By: Mr FC Faria CarlosEven the hotel are tree stars, we found very goods points like: nice rooms (space, clean and big bathroom), air conditioner, TV with international channels.
Other surprise was the restaurant and the service. The personal was very friendly and they offer different food every day.
When we arrived (after 00.00pm), they offer a catering for all guests. On Thursday, at dinner, they offer a bottle of champagne.
So in general we could recommend the hotel for new visitors.

Make sure when you do go out head to DESTINY'S bar a lovely couple from county Durham run the pub, they have karaoke on a 3-4nites a week (i think) always a good laugh, very friendly and dont forget to set Johnny (karaoke compare) challenges. To find them, turn left out of the hotel, follow the road down past a few pubs like bus stop at the end there is a a road, and a supermarket over the road, cross over look down the little embankment, and head down the ramp you'll soon receive a great welcome, then once you have found them tell them Jenni says Hi (haha), try Linda's home made cooking its to die for.. once you've had a great giggle you are always going to go back to them honestly we have done for the past 4 times we have been to las americas. And why not pop into the Bus stop on the way back from Destiny normally a few people still there and the PR's are a good laugh.
Advice: A must go to DESTINY'S directions above
Activities: We stayed half board therefore didnt eat out,
Good for: Beach
