the owner was money driven. he kicked us out of the pool because he expected us to buy drinks even though we had already. iv'e never seen such a rude owner always keeping a watchful eye on everyone. besides all this i had a brilliant time in kefalos. the people were great, the resturants food, staff and the bars we went to were brilliant in a way they had given us great service. But i recommend the Scorpions resturant because of the service you get from them is like no other, just execellent. i recommend you get down to as much activities as you can because its worth it.

What a great Hotel, had a relly good time, my wife and i found the owner only to pleased to help. The rooms are basic but very clean and tidy. The breakfast was a basic continental but we also had cake and toast on different occasions. The barman named Tony was a very funny man and also went out of his way to make sure that everything was o.k. for us. The swimming pool was also very clean and well presented. The poolside bar/cafe was also very clean and the lady Maria did somevery nice Hamburgers and omelettes. The Hotel was very close to the shops and resteraunts and the beach only a couple of minutes away. We visited several resteraunts and found that Gallini was about the best, enjoying the kleftico very much. We did a lot of trips also like the Greek night, visit to Turkey which was very hot. All together my wife and i had a very enjoyable time and will visit again and make sure that we can stay at the Kamari bay hotel.

Very poor hotel, not good for families as manager/owner didn't like any noise or music so was unfriendly to children.

Disappointed by behaviour of manager, who was unfriendly, shouting at guests and only seemed to be concerned with the money they brought in rather than guest comfort or customer service.

Spoilt our holiday as the experience of walking into arguments and shouting matches in reception was very uncomfortable and stressful.

Insisted on all guests keeping on their room for the last day and wouldn't allow any sharing.

Charged 4% interest for changing money!!

Would not recommend.

Our 6th time in Kefalos. Love the resort. Very friendly and safe for teenagers. This is the worst hotel we have ever encountered. On arrival we were put in a basement room with no aircon even though the brochure stated aircon, payable at local rate. There was no window, on asking the owner Yani, we were told that not all rooms had air con and that we could be moved the next week. It was very small, dark and stuffy. Yani is the most rude, unhelpful individual. He shouted at me on several occasions and was rude and sullen to friends and other family members. How on earth people ever go back there is beyond me. When leaving my husband told Yani that we would not be back, his reply "I don't care". He definitely is in the wrong business!

The rooms are basic but clean, breakfast - give it a miss! Runny jam and a bun served in an old fashioned silent dining room with absolutely no atmosphere. We were told in no uncertain terms that he did not allow any music in his hotel. The noise on a night from the bar and from clashing doors was continuous, not a good place for a good nights sleep. Will go back to Kefalos but the Kamari bay will not be on our list of places to visit.

Kamari Bay Hotel Staff very unfriendly. Room dull. Asked for sea view, on booking three months in advance, had swimming pool view, booked b/b worst we have ever had in Greece (have been to all islands) toast very small portion of watery jam large messy roll again same amount of jam. Oh Sunday a sloce of dry cake. coloured water they called coffee, orange juice ok. I aksed if i could have say a Greek yogurt the owner snapped no continental toast it was in my contract, well actually there is no mention anywahere in my contract of an awful breakfast...The sheets are not changed while you are there, they are only folded on the bed, to look clean. The towels are changed a couple of times, but don't leave anything on then drying outside or you may find them blowing over the balcony when you come back. The door fire door at the top of the stairs is left open every night, so you have no chance to sleep as the bar is very noisy.

We were not trusted to look after our own room key, we were shouted at one morning when going out and told we had to leave our key at reception. Shower rain freezing cold a couple of nights, great after a warm day on the beach, when you needed to clean up and change for dinner and an evening out. The First Choice rep was really helpful. thank goodness he was there. Anybody who keeps returning think how great, well take a trip to another island you would be amazed. I would never go to this hotel again, reort quite nice, but spoilt by this hotel who does not know how to treat adults who have worked all year and needed a holiday... Well never again.

Our second visit to Kefalos, the first time to Kamari Bay Hotel.

A very friendly, welcoming place - the owner is very eager to please and always goes out of his way to say hello and chat. Excellent pool (very big and very clean!!) and some good poolside snacks/meals available (Maria is friendly and works so very hard!!).

Kefalos has some good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel (5 mins), where service is generally good and prices are excellent. 3 of us ate out every night, with drinks, wine etc, for about £20 all-in. Shame most places feel the need to serve up chips with whatever you choose - however they will do salad instead if you ask.

Whilst you're in Kefalos, do go to the old town, up the hill, but take some water for the walk. Otherwise hire one of the many quadbikes and run around on that - less than €20/day. Kos Town is worth a visit and the local bus service there is reliable, comfortable (AC on bus!!).

So: Kefalos is a lovely, quiet resort - not too commercialised - Kamari Bay hotel is very good and we would definitely go again. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Just returned from a well deserved break staying at this hotel and resort. It is the second time we have been to Kefalos as it is such a wonderful unspoilt not too commercialised resort.

It is still 'Greek' enough to enjoy a real taste of the culture and their food, which I might add is fantastic. We don't think a great deal to the beaches in Kefalos (a bit too stoney for us) but there are some wonderful beaches nearby. We didn't do a lot of touring this time as we have been to Kos several times before and done this, although we did hire a car to go into delightful Mastichari and Kos Town of course.

The Kamari Bay Hotel is a very well run family business and the owners are wonderful and friendly, they just can't do enough for you. We stayed at the Kokalakis last year which is next door, but we much preferred this hotel. Our room was spotless and we had clean sheets 'every' day. The pool area is lovely and we would definitely return.

I have just returned from a fabulous 2 weeks at the Kamari Bay hotel, we were the first guests to arrive this year.

It was the first holiday together for myself and my partner. From the moment we arrived we felt everyone made us feel welcome, from the reps at the airport to Yanis his family and staff.

Everything is so clean, your rooms are lovely, we had a view over the pool which is kept spotlessly clean, and could also see the sea and mountains.

People say breakfast is not enough, it is a roll with butter and jam served with orange juice, and a choice of tea or coffee, but the meals you have in the local tavernas are so nice, even though a bit large you do not feel like a big breakfast.

We found Sebastian's, Maria's, the stop in were very friendly and the food was excellent, also Mano's was good, and the cafe bar, we made lots of friends especially John and Helen.

There is so much to see in Kefalos it is a beautiful quiet tranquil resort, we hired a car for three days and went to so many beautiful places on the island.

We will definitely be returning, even if it is only to have one of the wonderful barman Tony's cocktail's.

What can I say other than fantastic!

Yes hotel is basic, as I’ve read some other feedback on other sites stating this, but the most important thing is that it’s very clean - we had clean sheets every other day. The owner Yanni and the staff are really friendly.

The hotel is aimed for couples (of all ages-may I add) and small families looking for a quiet and friendly hotel.

The hotel it’s self is close to the beach and virtually on the harbour so there was plenty to do in the day time and evenings. It was especially nice in the evenings walking along the harbour with all the little tourist shops lit up-in fact I’m getting quite nostalgic thinking abut it right now!

If you’re after a holiday full of history and natural beauty this is defiantly an island that you should visit.

There are plenty of trips to go on and places to visit. We stayed for 2 weeks-we thought that we had practically visited every place you could but we were wrong.

The best thing with the trips is that they are quiet cheep, me and my Fiancé went on four different day trips and we paid around £40 each, which I though was not too bad-better than spending the holiday around the pool!

There’s a fantastic restaurant across from ‘Kamari bay hotel’ called ‘Galliani’s’ we end up dinning there every evening and by the end of the holiday, we found our selves nipping across for a full breakfast.

We loved it so much we were tempted to miss the plane back to the UK and stay. It was very tempting but of course we had to go back to sunny Britain.

Needless to say we are going back next year, but hopefully for 3 weeks!

Small tip-Try to visit the village of Zia, It is stunning and the cinnamon drink is so nice!

Kamari bay is a beautiful hotel with lovely staff to match.

Although each room is minimal (bed, wardrobe, dresser and hairdryer), they are bright, cleaned thoroughly and regularly and are also well ventilated to cope with the climate in Kos. The only problem i had with the rooms is that mosquitoes can get in, but that can be solved with a simple plug in repellent. The balcony for each room is big enough to relax on, and are also kept clean. Over all the rooms got a 9/10 from my partner and I.

The staff are brilliant. You are welcomed warmly when you arrive, and greeted whenever you leave or return to the hotel during you stay. The manager is usually about and always up for a friendly chat. The hotel staff are just as friendly and equally as helpful.

The pool itself is around the back of the hotel, and it's so nice that people from nearby hotels often came to Kamari Bay to use it! It is always warm, clean, tidy, and there is always an empty sun lounger for you no matter how busy the pool is. There is also a small cafe where you can get hot and cold food as well as snacks and ice-cream. The food is great and the prices are very cheap.

Also, the hotel attracts mainly couples and small families. Whilst I was there with my partner we were the youngest people there (I am 18 and my partner is 22), so this was a new to us, but it meant there's a very relaxed atmosphere. There are no young, loud, drunken people disturbing you!

Overall the hotel was brilliant and i plan to go back in 2006 as I know I will be welcomed, looked after, and have a relaxing time as a result.
