Very dates and most of the resort was closed. Good luck with the beach, or lack of it

Management response from Kostas Sourmelis, Owner 23 Dec 2010

Dear MissD, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. Fortunately enough it is very rear for me to respond at negative scores. Although your criticism seems to be very short and vague, without clear points for our property, I would like to briefly mark the following: - On your comment "very dates" I cannot respond with certainty, as I am not able to understand what you want to express. - As far as your mark about the resort is concerned, there are quiet months such as May/October and busier months such as July/August. Some guests prefer quiet and lonelier holidays, while others preffer crowded and busier. I would suggest to make sure you schedule your holidays at the appropriate time based on what you are looking for. - I disagree with your comment which refers to the beach. Kardamena has excellent beaches all over its coastline. To be more precise it is commonly accepted that Kardamena has one of the best beaches on the Island. Finally I would kindly ask from you in order to help us to improve our services but also help the people who consult these reviews, to be more constructive and clear with your criticism. By doing so you will indeed make a valuable contribution to everybody involved. Thank you

In a great location close to the beach and main resort. The apartments from the outside are attractive, however, inside they are a bit dated. The mattresses are VERY hard, the shower head in our room should have been replaced years ago, although roomy, not a very... more

Absolutley gorgeous apartments and studios. Perfect place to stay. What we loved about it was 2 minute work away from the hotel, it's resturants, clubs and bars galore but the accommodation seems like you're a million miles away. You'd never guess you're in the middle of a... more

Absolutely amazing place to stay, gorgeous apartments very different layout to the rest of the resort, almost like a little village. Although the apartments were a lot quieter than the nearby Seva they were by no means a boring place to stay, perfect for both families... more

lovvveed it!
really really enjoyed it here, beautiful place to stay at.. very clean and tidy, all the staff are verry helpfull and kind making you feel right at home. i recomend this to everyone.. lovely people to be staying with and they maked you feel so relaxed, the beach is litraly 1-2 mins away from the hotel.. perfectly located by shops and bars.. should have booked two weeks tho. me and my patner enjoyed so much we are going back in sept for another week =D
Wicked time!
When myself and 6 friends booked up to go kos for a lively first time holiday without any adults i was a bit worried, the travel agent had assured me it was an up and coming lively place and many youngsters were choosing to go there - and she couldn't have been more correct! With bar street open most of the night and the likes of Status and Starlight i could of stayed there forever! DON'T MISS THE BEST FOAM PARTY IN EUROPE! - BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE! Kos is really lively with bar street a 5minute walk away. Nightclub Status is literally a 3 minute walk. However it is still sechluded enough to get away from the nightlife if you want! Yet Nissia itself was a lovely place to stay wether you are 18 or 80! However the apartments wasn''t great if you planned to stay in there a long time! The pool isn't massive but when theres only around 40 rooms at Nissia it's not to much of a bother. The beach isn't anything special however a boat trip away is bubble beach and that was gorgeous! If you are going on your first clubbing holiday kos is the place to go!!!
Loved Nissia and Kamares, full of charm great place to be !!
I stayed at The Nissia and Kamares, the first week of June with my four year old son and my partner.so the perfect time for a quick getaway. This warm friendly, traditionally built and decorated hotel is located within walking distance from the lovely beaches. The hotel apartments are perfectly designed to cater for the summer holiday, the rooms and gardens are preciously kept. The fantastic Greek maids made our stay, when walking into a spotless apartment every evening coming back from the beach. The swimming pool is great, extremely clean, set amongst the pretty flowers,a perfect place to relax and have a quiet swim. The pool staff were always very happy to see you, and made you feel very welcome. The manager, Kostas was always around to guide us and give us some tips on eating out and exploring the beautiful island. We rented a car for a few days, its highly recommended to see the real highlights of the island. Booking now my stay for this summer.
Depends what you want
This hotel is in a good location, set just a short walk from the main bars, clubs and beach, but far away enough not to be troubled with the noise at night. The hotel is very pretty and there is a nice pool area, however a major problem during June was the cockroaches! if your room is on the ground floor you can be sure they will make their way in. During our stay one came up through the shower whilst my friend was in it! you can imagine the screams. After a few visitors we asked to be moved rooms to a higher floor and after that had no problems. The rooms are basic, in the first room the fan in the bathroom didn't work which meant the whole room was damp and I would not describe them as self catering - only a small stove, kettle and a small fridge and not enough plates for the four of us, towels etc only get changed every other day, which is not really suitable on a beach holiday and we ended up buying some extra towels. The staff are vey friendly and all the grounds etc are kept very clean. Basically this is a lively friendly hotel and best for groups of young friends looking to enjoy the night life in kos!
Loved it!
My partner and I have just got back from Kos and we had an amazing time, mainly down to the fantastic staff at the Nissia & Kamares. It is a lively place to stay but as they have to turn music off by midnight you have no trouble getting a good night's sleep. There were families and young people staying here and all said they really enjoyed their stay and would come back. The staff were such lovely, kind and helpful people - they added to a perfect holiday. The rooms were clean and had everything you required. My advise - go and you will see for youself what a great place this is.
Want to go back!
Stayed at the Nissia Kamares for two weeks with my partner and we absolutely loved it! The room was a great size and always clean. All members of staff were great and always willing to help. The pool was a nice size used to get pretty busy so not always able to get a lounger. Had some good snacks at the pool bar. It is a short walk away from the beach and nightlife but not so close that you hear all the noise. We ate out every night and had some lovely meals but touters outside restaraunts and pubs/clubs started to annoy us they dont seem to take no for an answer!! Overall had a great holiday and would reccomend these apartments.
We Are Going Back!!!
We stayed at Nissia in May 07 - what a lovely hideaway......full of bright flowers and greenery...the setting is so suprising. Safe for children, plenty of ice creams and the pools are great. The views from the pool area are great. The rooms are bright, clean and airy with the option of air conditioning...which is a god send. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The town of Kardamena offers everyone something to do whether is be bars and nightlife or lovely restaurants down by the sea front. Watersports galore, lots of little shops from nik naks to designer gear. Kos town is a must also and there are lots of exciting excursions to go on if you fancy. We made some great friends out there and WILL be returning. Janette (Leeds)
FABULOUS
we have just got back from the Nissia and i have to say it was the best holiday i have ever had.... The rooms where spotless, the staff where great, Steph behind the bar was great, and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.... Air con and safety deposit box was 65 euro for a fortnight peak time. Pool was kept immaculate and the grounds, it was very pretty, with all the flowers and very well maintained...
great location!
stayed at the nissia for a week in may, the studios are are great and really spacious, the staff are really helpful and friendly.the location is excellent, close enough to the centre and the beach, yet you can still escape the busy nightlife when you need to relax, pool area is a good size and clean and a small kids pool. the pool bar serves food and drink and has occasional BBQs. THIS HOTEL WOULD SUIT ALL AGES AS THE NIGHTLIFE ISNT ON YOUR DOORSTEP BUT ONLY A FEW MINUTES AWAY. I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE STUDIOS AND APARTMENTS TO ANYONE, NOT THE BEST RESORT FOR FAMIES UNLESS YOU GO IN MAY OR OCTOBER.
not restful
just returned from nissia kamares, kardamena, kos. booked a family holiday as stated in airtours brochure didn't get a family holiday, this is a shared accommadation with heatwave (18 - 30) i'm no funny duddy but when i go to bed its to sleep not to listen to screaming and shouting all night long, full of same sex parties, doing the 24 hour thing very loudly. good resort but not family orientated at all, would have suited my 18 year old son to a tee. good food at the pool bar, music blasting out all day long, cant nap at side of pool. never had a bad meal but by far the best was Yianni, excellant food, service and very reasonable prices. Lovely beaches. not impressed with all the touting for customers though, been to greece loads never had to put up with that. Good resort for 18 - 30 if under or over this head for else where.
