Reviews of Nissia & Kamares Studios & Apartments, Kardamena, Kos
Nissia & Kamares Studios & Apartments, Kardamena
With a refreshingly different style to other apartments in Kardamena, Nissia and Kamares is attractively designed and built in traditional Dodecanese Island style with white-washed accommodation surrounds stone-paved courtyards. The spacious, modern apartments and studios are well maintained and provide an excellent choice for families. The resort centre and a sandy beach are both a short walk away.

not good. we booked a first floor room thinking it would have a good balcony, it was like being in a tree house very dark no sun. this made the apartment very dark lights on in the daytime. when we got the room there were mozzys splattered all over the cellings and walls and rotches in the bathroom running around. pool side bar ok but order food and it comes with chips [ potato chips, crisps] the town is great good bars ect but we would find better rooms.
Absolutley gorgeous apartments...

Absolutley gorgeous apartments and studios. Perfect place to stay. What we loved about it was 2 minute work away from the hotel, it's resturants, clubs and bars galore but the accommodation seems like you're a million miles away. You'd never guess you're in the middle of a lively up-beat resort once you arrive at the Nissia & Kamares as it's so peacful and the surroundings are beautiful.
Staff were pleasant and always happy to help. Perfect for families, couples and groups. (Whilst we were there, we noticed all ages at the hotel.) Rooms were basic and clean and you've got all the equipment you need for a self catering holiday. There is a supermarket literally around the corner where you can get all your essenitals. So don't worry if you forget to pack shampoo or toothpaste!!!
Overall, perfect little accommodation with a bar open till 3am...which is always a bonus. Good times!

Absolutely amazing place to stay, gorgeous apartments very different layout to the rest of the resort, almost like a little village. Although the apartments were a lot quieter than the nearby Seva they were by no means a boring place to stay, perfect for both families couples and groups alike. We have been to Kardamena twice and stayed here both times because we loved it that much! And the staff in 08 were great people, always helpful asking if u were ok or if u needed a drink. Hope to come back to Kos to work next summer, cant get enough of the place!

This is a superb location we went for a week with out 2 3/4 year old boy ( a bundle of FUN). The loaction was all we could have wished for. Very safe and the staff were great. Close enough for all of the facilities but far enough away to avoid the noise. The room was fine, cleaned well, but be perpared for the stone based beds, even with a good matress they are 'firm' (no hard), but the good food and wine made them very comfortable. The food on the resort is a little limited but the Jacket Potato with chicken salad is to die for. Costas the manager cannot do enough to help enough and is a brillliant manager.
Onto the food.
Must Try Nemos where the staff make it a real good night the food is very good but be selective the lamb Kleftico is good as is the fajitas (massive meal). If you want a great Stifado try MANOS, and I was very suprised by a superb steak at Ramanos.
All in all the best holiday for a long time we do not like going back to the same place twice but.... as Arnie said ' I will be back'

Welll wat a fantastic holiday!!!! first holiday away with my boyfriend and it was amazing.
The hotel was a nice little hotel compared to others around it. Maids came 6 times a week changed towels bedding cleaned room.
The pool is lovely bit cold early morning lol pool bar serves nice snacks, and cheap drinks :D
The only down side to our holiday was in a club called "Status". Me and my boyfriend dancing away minding our own bussiness when a bouncer came running over grabbing my boyfriend and hurled him in to a room and beat him!!! The only reason was MISTAKEN Identady shockking!!! Be Warned :P
If we could have rated this...

If we could have rated this hotel 15 out of ten we would have done! We only stayed for a week and it was our first trip to Kos.
Now let me tell you about "paradise", like the other reviews that you'll read Coustas is an extremely helpful host/manager. The bar with wii/music entertainment is just as you'd want, not too loud but popular with residents and non residents. The weekly quiz is not to be missed!
The maids where fantastic, our studio was cleaned to a high standard. The bar staff (Martin and Tina) were like "old friends" so pleasant and polite and nothing (I mean nothing ) was too much trouble.
We may have been lucky but we met so many lovely people there. The hotel is literally five minutes walk from everything, the harbour, the beach, the shops, the night life and many many good restaurants . You must have the breakfast at the "FU KING GUD" restaurant on the front. But most of all you must must, must go to the ADELPHIS restaurant for your evening meal!
In summary, when we got to the airport we seriously discussed selling up and living in this place and it was the Nissia Kamares that made our holiday.

Fantastic place to stay. Ideally suited for peace and quiet or nightlife in Kardemena. Apartments basic but very clean. Costas was very helpful even before we arrived making sure we had apartments near each other and not scattered about. Also catered for my elderly aunt so that she would not have far to walk to the pool area.
Would return again but as others have said, would not travel with My Travel. Their rep was not visible after she took our booking for 12 plus a baby on the Lazy Days excursion. My advice, don't bother with this one and do independently from Kos Town.
There are some beautiful islands but was not impressed with the 3 we were taken to. The island with the goats was the most interesting - I rest my case - and as for the island with the sponge demonstration, don't buy there, wait until you get to the next island where they are cheaper and the third island was similar to a construction site and by the time you walked to the beach, it was time to make your way back to the boat.
All in all though, despite the above, had an absolutely wonderful holiday and would definitely go back again.

Just returned from Nissia Kamares apts after celebrating my husband’s 60th. Apartments were basic but very clean and comfortable.
Staff very welcoming especially Costas, the hotel manager, with whom I had several e-mails from before our visit to ensure that all our party were together instead of having apartments on different sides of the complex. I found him to be most helpful and even knew our room numbers before we arrived which is something I have never experienced before.
Pool area is clean and well kept. Although there is no restaurant as such, the bar and snack bar has a good menu. These apartments are ideal for s/c as you are 5 mins from the beach, shops and nightlife of Kardamena.
Went on the Lazy Days boat trip. Usually make our own arrangements for trips but as there were 12 adults and a baby, we booked through the rep. Although she promised that we would have a cake on board for my husband's birthday, the crew didn't even know until one of my party mentioned it to the rep who was on the boat with us.
After taking the booking, I think we only saw rep once at the apartments during the whole week we were there. As mentioned by other people, it seems that once the reps have taken your booking for trips, they don't give a toss.
By the way, with regard to the Lazy Days trip, don't bother. There are so many beautiful islands around Kos and, apart from the sponge factory, which by the way is a rip off as you can buy the sponges much cheaper on other islands, we all thought we could have been taken to some prettier places.
The last port of call was likened to a "construction site".
Anyway, saw loads of goats on our first stop, not much scenery, but bbq tasty. Can thoroughly recommend the Nissia Kamares apartments and will certainly return some time in the future.
Just come back from 14 nights...

Just come back from 14 nights stay here and what a fab place it is. The apartments are clean and friendly. The maids don’t stop working, they cleaned our room everyday and with us being 2 young girls on holiday (so you can imagine the mess) they even folded our clothes up for us as well.
The pool is great with some good music so when your dying from the night before you can just chill by the pool.
The staff are really friendly and can’t do enough for you.
The place itself is absolutely fantastic. You will get hassled by the pr's on Bar Street but there all up for the laugh anyway. Best bar to go to is definitely the King's Arms, the guys and girl here are brill. Try the Kings Special but be warned don’t have more than 3 or you will not see daylight the next day.
I will definitely be going back next year. These apartments are good for everyone, especially if you’re young and lively as the night clubs and Bar street are a few minutes walk away.
Kos is the place to go and the Nissia is the place to stay.

I have just returned from the Nissia and Kamares hotel and all I can say is PERFECT!!
Everything (and I mean everything) about the hotel is spot on.
When we arrived, the guy on reception showed us to our room, introduced himself and told us about the hotel, services etc, in a very helpful way.
We were very lucky to be given a 4 bed apartment for the same price as a studio on booking! They were very spacious, the shower was large and the bedroom was also of a large size, with lots of storage space for clothes etc!
There was a fridge, toaster, kettle, cooking rings, cutlery and everything else that you need. Also air conditioning (well worth having) and a safe deposit box (for a reasonable price).
The pool was large, with loads of sunbeds, a baby pool and a bar serving snacks and drinks (the bar is open until at least 2.30 am).
There is also a TV, Nintendo Wii and pool table for added fun!
The maids came every day to clean and leave toilet roll, empty bins and change bed linen etc.
As for Kardamena itself, the hotel is within 5 minutes of the central square and 10 minutes to the beach (Ideal).
All I can say about Kardamena is that it is one of my favourite places and the internet will tell you the rest.
Last year I recommended the Mikargy hotel as being suitable, but without 'dissing' them, I have a new favourite!
This is by far the BEST hotel on the island!!
Happy Holidays!!

We have just had two weeks at the Nissia and are gutted to be home. The Nissia is absolutely fabulous the grounds are very pretty with plants flowers and is extremely well maintained Stefenous was always wandering around making sure everything was just right. The rooms where spotless. The chambermaids where just lovely always spoke to you even though they didn’t know much English.
Steph at the bar was just amazing had many a late night in her company and she really is game for a laugh. Ross is lovely and makes amazing milkshakes!!!
Coustos was very helpful, in fact all the staff made our stay just perfect, nothing was too much trouble, even getting me an extra pillow.
The pool is a nice size and clean, no charge to use the sun beds, pool bar is good and good food.
Air con was 65 euros with a safety deposit box for a fortnight.
Would never go with My Travel again our rep was miserable and unhelpful, yet the first choice rep Ali was just amazing, we had so many laughs with him at the pool bar and he really did make our holiday that bit more special, he was really game for a laugh and got chucked in the pool on a regular basis!!!

Only to words to say about this. Loved it!!
Was perfect for both young people like us and couples with young children. There was a good mix of both types around the pool and therefore there was a friendly and safe atmosphere!
The staff are amazing! They try there best to help you in every way! The apartments where clean and the area around the apartments and the pool was perfect!! The pool its self was plenty big enough and there was always enough sun beds!
The only down side to our holiday was the travel company! I would recommend any young people not to use Argo holidays! It is not for young people and you will find that out when you see how the rep treats you in comparison to the other travel companies!
Will be going back next year but with another travel company!!

Absolutely loved this hotel - although not sure if they loved us. Complaints on the first night for noise, oops!
The room was spotless and wonderfully set out for a party of 3 as we were worried we were getting twin beds and a sofa bed - but no, 3 single beds, excellent.
I get the feeling that this place is more of a family place but in early June with the kids still at school it was perfect for our summer of fun. Just over the road from the Seva 24hour bar was the perfect base.
A couple of minutes walk away from the nightlife, which also was AWESOME!! If you are looking for a fun filled holiday, Kardamena is the place and the Nissia and Kamares is the place to stay.

I had an absolutely fantasic time... "Brilliant", though I had a nasty experience at Kos Airport on arrival but, once I checked into the "Nissia Kamares", I thought, I was walking into a heavenly paradise. Many thanks to Costas & his uncle who very warmly gave me that "Welcome" and, yes! Room 161 was perfectly located for me.
Besides the lovely beaches, bars, shops, restaurants, etc that surrounded me. Though, everything was just walking distance for me. There was some magic feel by the "Pool Bar", the blue skies, clean water, shinny floors, great beers; it was the lovely food by the "charming lady"...Janne, always with that smile! The "Pool Bar" is the place to be with the mighty "Ross" who always made sure you were fine. He made me the best cocktails
Last but not the least, all those housekeeping staff, thanks a lot, you all made my holiday, number 1!
This is a beautiful resort and...

This is a beautiful resort and the accommodation at the Nissia is excellent, the staff are very friendly, and the surroundings are idyllic.
The studios are cleaned regularly and I would happily stay there again.
There was only one thing that I would watch out for and that is mosquitoes, they are ruthless - I would not let that put me off, would be more prepared next time.
