Attractive hotel, situated a little out of town, ideal for those seeking a peaceful holiday away from the bustle and bars and nightclubs in town. A courtesy bus runs into town, but beware as we went at the very beginning of the season and there were a few things not available. The courtesy bus into town wasn't running. The courtesy bus to take you to your apartment didn't run 24 hours. The indoor pool wasn't heated and despite asking to look in the boutique, nobody came to open it up.
The rooms were basic but very clean. It would be lovely to see some more clothes hangers, but that goes for any holiday accommodation. Also they are short on drawer space.
We couldn't find any English TV channels.
ALL THE STAFF were marvelous. So friendly that you felt like family, and nothing was too much trouble or effort. The entertainment team were brilliant and worked very hard, and they were innovative. Although organised games is not my thing, they were not too pushy, but simply encouraged you to participate. The waiters were efficient, but you never felt they were hovering or rushing you. They were always smiling and cheerful, and remembered what you preferred.
The food was excellent, but i would say they could improve the presentation by putting either a card with the dish description or at least a clue as to what the main ingredients were! One of our team has diabetes, one was vegetarian and one has heart problems. We couldn't work out what the soup was nor some of the main courses. For anyone with allergies or dietary needs it was not ideal.
The reception staff were wonderful too. And all graciously accepted to have their photographs taken.
Full marks, altogether a wonderful holiday. If they could look at the small criticisms it would be spot on and get the full 10 marks.
Louise Sweetmore.

Absolutely blinding holiday. The hotel is a bit of a distance from the centre but clearly is the best hotel in Kardamena and was worth the walk or cab journey when too drunk. Kardamena has everything from quiet restaurants with the best food to a more lively clubbing seen.
Would definitely recommend this apartment although based on a hill side transportation is given up and down from the apartments. If based at the top of the hill side you get the most amazing views the food here is second to known and there is something for everyone.
The hosts are very friendly and greet you to your table at every meal time if going to Kardamena there is only one place to stay, Aegean Village!

My boyfriend and myself spent a week in the glorious resort of Kardamena back in July and we really did have a lovely time. The resort itself is quite lively, with Club 18-30 having several residences in the town itself, by day there’s quite a few bustling cafes and shops and by night it’s a complete paradise for young and old alike with an array of bars as well as a couple of clubs too.
The Aegean Village Hotel itself is situated on the outskirts of Kardamena, about a mile and a half, which is quite nice as you get no noise at all in the evenings. The hotel itself is wonderful, built on the side of a cliff and right opposite a small and fairly secluded beach too.
Rooms - The rooms are fairly basic as is often found in Greece, perfectly clean (cleaned daily too) with a well equipped bathroom, TV and air con facilities too.
Food - The food is second to none, we spent a week there on half board basis and never tired of the food at all. The restaurant is based on a help yourself scheme and there’s plenty to choose from. Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, breads, cereals, cooked breakfast available too and Dinner consists of salads, soup, breads, cooked meat & fish, vegetables, potatoes, rice and with deserts to die for!
Facilities - The pool is a reasonable size, cool and refreshing with plenty of free sun beds so there’s always enough to go round. As for entertainment the team works throughout the day and evening with activities to suit everyone.
All in all I’d say this was a fantastic holiday, 4* resort but should be 5*!!!

Just returned for 5 nights at the Aegean Village. The hotel is lovely, more of a 3* than 4*though. The rooms and facilities are exceptionally clean and rooms are cleaned every day!
The food is good and served buffet style, Breakfast includes bacon, eggs, cereals and fruit etc. Evening meals always include salad, fresh breads, soup, cheeses, hot dishes and a selection of veg. The food does get repetitive and there isn't much vegetarian choice and no children’s options (no chips or pizza!)
The room are set on a hill, although none are a very long walk and the free mini bus runs 24hrs and you just call reception and they send it straight away.
The pool is fab, as is the beach right in front of the hotel. It's worth hiring a car as there isn't much to do in Kardamena. It is a lively nighttime resort perfect for 18 - 30's, with loads of tacky bars and pushy PR's on bar street!! Not really our scene so we chose to stick to the sea front (much nicer) and the hotel bar. Don't be put off though, the hotel isn't full of teenagers mostly couples and families.
The staff are great, animation team are very friendly and enthusiastic, but the evening entertainment is awful, so don’t even bother. It consists of a 'tutti fruiti' cabaret; mostly bad dance routines and miming, in a stuffy room with no aircon and the highest bar prices in the hotel!
There isn't a great deal to see locally other than the good beaches so it's well worth hiring a car to visit Kos town. I don't think we'd go back, but that's no reflection on the hotel, just the island is too geared up for tourists and doesn't really offer a Greek experience.
If you do go look out for the cute ginger kitten who lives in the pampas grass in the car park!
