We booked a last minute holiday and wasnt expecting much as wasnt expensive, but were pleasently surprised. The rooms set on a hill were pretty and had the loveliest view of the sea, against the white buildings. It really was refreshingly 'pretty as a picture'. The chef did a wonderful job with the food, and even though we usually eat out of the resort, it would have been criminal to have done so as the food was so different and tasty every night. Never a rush for sun beds, even when the hotel was busy. First part of the world i have been where towels on sunbeds before the birds are awake does not take place. Staff were all happy and helpful. Entertainment staff were the best, but the disco could have been notched up a bit, and gone on later than 11pm. Would love to go back again, and will remember fondly. Well done Aegean Village.

We have just returned from 2 weeks at the Aegean Village and could not fault it. Friendly and helpful staff, clean large rooms, good food with plenty of choice and lots of entertainment for ourselves and our 2 year old.
Attractive hotel situated a 15min walk from town, ideal for those seeking a peaceful family holiday away from the nightclubs in town. The children’s play area (with small pool), pool bar and main pool area were attractive and clean with loads of available sun beds. The small beach is just across the road from the hotel.
The guests were good mix of nationalities with British, German, French and Italians and we never heard one complaint about the hotel while we were there.
Great place for a holiday and we will certainly go back.

An amazing holiday!! The hotel was gorgeous, location was fantastic and everything about the whole holiday was unfaultable! Hotel is built on a hill so has fantastic views and they even provide a mini bus to transport people up and down from their rooms which we found to be reliable and never had to wait more than 10 mins for it. Rooms were very clean and pleasant and had regular maid service. We were bit worried what the food would be like but it was fantastic!plenty of choice and never got repetitve!the breakfast in particular was impressive!Pool was nice and clean and all staff were lovely. I just wish that the hotel could be all inclusive so that drinks were included but they were still reasonably priced!
Overall had a brilliant holiday and would definitely return there! We loved it!Would also recommend 'Nemo's' restaurant in Kardamena-was very reasonably priced and had some of the nicest food we've ever had!

I visited this resort in May 2007 and although it was fairly early in the season we were fortunate enough to have brilliant weather for the whole week. We found that the hotel itself was beyond our initial expectations. The room was clean and hygienic, the pool area was the same although the water was a bit on the cold side! The restaurant was impressive although the menu did become slightly predictable throughout the week.
The Aegean Village is situated a nice short walk from the centre of Kardamena where there are plenty of bars/restaurants etc.
From what I experienced I can't believe that anyone would find much to complain about at the Aegean Village...they must be very picky or expecting more than there moneys worth....snobs!!

Went to Kos for a first girly holiday and thought Kardamena was pukka!
Stayed at Aegean village for one week and thought that the place itself was good. The receptionists were very helpful and dealt with any requests we had.
The food was nice however; the menu became very predictable after two days. This food review is based on the evening meals only as never got up in time to enjoy the breakfast.
If you was to stay at Aegean Village for the nightlife and clubbing atmosphere, I wouldn't really recommend it, as the hotel is best suited for families and couples.
Our purpose was to have a clubbing holiday, which was successfully established, however, we had to get a taxi into town which was only 6 Euros. The walk is only about 15 mins but due to the weather it was too hot.
I gave this hotel a rating of 8 as the apartments were situated on a hill, so there was a bus to take to your room, which was abit of a pain. Another downfall was the waiters which I found to be very rude, and there should have been more available.

The hotel is nice and clean, although the rooms are nothing fancy but have everything you need.
We were room 602 so it was right at the very top never walked down so it was a bit of an effort to wait for the mini bus. My mum and dad walked down and they were the floor below us and it still took them 10 minutes and it’s very steep. So make sure you’re not at the top!
The food is not that nice but I could live with it for a week. The night life in Kardamena is awesome, I loved it. Best club was Starlight although a bit pricey to get in but worth it.
Defo going to go back to Kardamena but won't stay in this hotel.

I went on holiday with my mum and dad and my friend. We stayed for a week but it was a really good week.
The hotel looks amazing at night, so I took a few photos. I was slightly high up but the 24 hour bus helped with getting us up to our room.
All the rooms looked over the sea. Which was really nice to see. I enjoyed the walk down to breakfast as its refreshing and it wakes you up.
The pool was lovely. A reasonable size, but very cold! Definitely woke you up though.
All the staff were friendly, even the bus drivers who took us up to our room, who we made friends with.
The rooms are reasonable. Not too small, just a good size for 2 people. However, the beds aren't very comfy but it didn't matter as I spent most of the time out in town, at the beach or somewhere else. Only slept for a couple of hours in the room.
The food was very good. A fresh selection of salads, different meats every night. A good selection and a lot of variety. All the staff are waiting to help and try to get your drinks to you as soon as possible and ensure that everything is OK for you.
The hotel is set in a peaceful setting which is nice at night as there is no disturbances, apart from the few drunks who get in at 6,7,8am! Kardamena town is only a 15 minute walk, or a 5 minute bus journey, but the walk is really not that bad.
We got the bus the first night, and when it was really dark as there are no street lights. But we walked every other night that we were there. The taxi cost only 5 euros back so definitely cheap.
When the reps in Kardamena asked us where we stayed, I told them the Aegean Village and they were very impressed. Apparently one of the best hotels in Kardamena so I am very pleased.
Overall, I really enjoyed my holiday and was very pleased with the service. I would definitely recommend and would love to go again.

My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at the Aegean. I would agree that it is more a 3* than a 4* though. The rooms were very basic but comfortable, and cleaned every day.
We chose to walk down the hill to the main hotel and get the minibus back up. The drivers were friendly and they run on a regular basis. I think the longest we had to wait was about 10 minutes which isn't bad. They have entertainment staff there that will encourage you to join in with the water volleyball or darts in the pool bar etc, but they don't hassle you and we found them quite funny especially when they do their little dance twice a day by the pool. The food at the hotel is ok. Although I lived on the salad and fruit mostly, they could do with a wider range of cold meats and vegetarian choices. There are a couple of very nice restaurants in Kardamena. The reception staff are friendly, apart from one particular woman who never cracked a smile while we where there. If you want a spot by the pool you'll need to get there before 10.30 otherwise you'll end up with somewhere in the shade. The beach area is nice, although they didn't tell us a sun bed costs 3 Euros. The shops are about 1 mile away and a taxi will cost about 5 Euros. You can walk but to be honest we found it too hot to walk there during the day.
All in all we felt very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A great place to go if you want peace and quiet.

The first thing to note about this hotel is that it does not accept any credit cards anywhere in the hotel. The second is the attitude of the staff; if you expect a warm welcome and stay then please do NOT come here.
If you want nice Greek food of an evening then please do NOT come here.
If you want luxury (bearing in mind it is classified a 5 star) then do NOT come here.
The hotel is basic, tired and is in desperate need of updating. I have never complained about a holiday before but I was devastated at what I experienced at this hotel, it totally ruined my holiday and as a direct result will not be going back to Greece.
Please, if you are doing your research, do not go here as there are so many better hotels that will make your holiday rather than ruin it.

Although I really rate the Aegean Village, I also would say it was more of a 3* than a 4* hotel. However from what I’ve heard from some of the other hotels I'm sure it is more of a 5*!
I stayed with a friend up quite high, and although there is a 24 hour mini bus service that will happily take you to your room, we actually quite enjoyed the exercise, even if it was a bit gruelling sometimes!
The rooms were simple and cleaned daily to a high standard. The cleaners were very pleasant and did not disturb you if you were in your room. The showers were fantastic, a real power blast to get rid of all that sun cream. We had air-conditioning, which you can keep on all day if you so wish, lifesaver! The curtains block out the sun fantastically, you really wouldn't know what time of day it was when closed!
Although we only made it to breakfast once, we caught dinner most nights and I have to say I heard good things about the food and it was all true. Always fresh salad, olives, sauces, a different soup each day and a selection of bread and cheeses.
The hot meals were lovely, the meat was cooked to perfection. The one thing that I loved? No chips! Thank god! Do people think that Brits just eat fried breakfasts and Chips all day? No! Every restaurant in town gave you chips with everything! It ruins a good meal. The veg was fresh and very tasty and far better for you.
Both bar and restaurant staff were very attentive, polite and looked very smart. The reception staff, however, I didn't find very helpful or polite at all. Sometimes I wondered if they could even see me. I never went to the evening entertainment, the dodgy outfits and voices put on by the staff put me off in seconds, although they seemed very enthusiastic at least! Nice to see them enjoying themselves.
It's located about 15 minutes walk away from town which suited us fine, being far away from all the night madness, yet close enough to crawl home! When we said we were staying AI the Aegean, everyone said that it really is the best place to stay. I can’t fault it.

I loved this hotel so much that I went there twice! Can't fault this hotel in any way shape or form. I stayed there with a friend, and when we returned the second time the waiters recognized and us and brought us a complimentary bottle of champagne to our table in the evening.
The pool is great, and at night its is all illuminated which provides a lovely view for the restaurant. There are hundreds of sun beds and umbrellas, the animation team are fun and do not hassle you.
Being in my 20's I did enjoy the lively bars in the center, but loved the fact that the hotel did not have any teenagers or rowdy holiday makers there, and was out of town.
The hotel is away from the centre which is perfect, it is so peaceful, my friend and I would stroll down the beach and quite often not see anyone - it was like paradise. The beach is 1m from the hotel! And there is a mini market there so everything you need is on your doorstep. The rooms are basic - but who cares you are not really in there! And you have a nice balcony to sit out on. Plus you get fridge which is handy - especially for your after sun!
I would (and have) recommended this hotel to anyone, and would stay there again.
I would agree that Kardamena did not have much to do, but is perfect for a relaxing beach/pool holiday.

After reading the mixed reviews of this hotel we did not know quite what to expect. On arrival the hotel looked lovely and clean and reception was spotless. I can honestly say I could not fault anything at all in the hotel. The food was first class and a really wide selection, all freshly made and delicious, the waiters and all staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly , nothing was too much trouble they are such nice people. Even in the town the local people are so helpful and friendly. The rooms were simply furnished and cleaned every day with towel changes every day also. The pool is very clean and we did not once have to get up at 6am to get a sun bed ! The animation team all tried very hard to keep us all entertained with the usual games etc which you could join in or not it was left up to you. The evening entertainment was more geared around kids but as it was half time this was expected. The beach is directly opposite the hotel and we had a lovely view from our room. One man did complain that there wasnt any pizza & chips though !! Kardemena is a small town, there is one street with numerous clubs and bars and one road next to the harbour with lovley restaurants so you can take your pick. All in all it was one of the best places I have visited , the only disapointment was we had to come home ! I would definately go back as Kos is a beautiful place.
