" brill hol "

i would reccomend this hotel to anyone.the hotel is very clean and rooms are lovely.the restaurant and food was nice, these people who say they had sprouts on at breakfast, yes they did but you dont have to eat them.there was food for all different nationalities and tastes.and as for no cutlery, thats rubbish, more than plenty.people who give negative reviews they want their head testing or they are just snobs.resort is nice with plenty to do.the staff were lovely especially one in the dining room called darnia.thanks for a lovely holiday iberostar.o neill family, sheffield.

Advice: everything for all ages

Activities: morris bar on beach, and banana bar on main stretch

Good for: Beach

" mixed opinion "

Very clean hotel with good amenieties, very friendly staff. brilliant room and conveniently situated .
The food was atrocious not very appetising to look at or taste and to be given the option of sprouts or green beans with your breakfast says it all ( I am not joking ).
The Helios hotel opposite the Iberostar is a much better option.

" fantastic place "

having stayed @ the iberostar sunny beach for i week we couldn't fault it, very very polite @ efficient staff in all areas no pushing or shoving fantastic food, and so much choice, my husband is a vegetarian @ the choice of food was the best he had encountered in a long time. having been to bulgaria 5 times now the only difference is the prices have gone up dramatically, but have'nt they everywhere. spotless hotel deserves the 4*grade i in fact would give it a 5*. will certainly go back again.

Advice: to relax or be active the choice is yours

Activities: khan tent a night to remember

Good for: Beach

" IBEROSTAR SUNNY BEACH "

The Iberostar Sunny Beach Resort is a nice hotel situated just away from the main area of Sunny Beach. Our room was a Junior Suite and was very spacious and clean. There was a good variety of food at the hotel, unfortunatly the quality left something to be desired. The staff were all very polite and friendly, along with the variety team who were all very enthusiastic. The resort itself is very very tacky. The shops are very basic with every other one selling the same tacky products. The resort seems to be catering for an age group between 18 and 24.On the whole the weather was very hot and made for an enjoyable week holiday.I would think that next year the prices will rise quite significantly with the introduction of the euro.At the moment it represents good value for the British traveller.

" couldn't agree more with the previous... "

couldn't agree more with the previous review - what a tacky place! sex shops, tattoo parlours and 'hoodie' shops run by the most miserable people imaginable!! they just don't seem pleased to see you there and make you feel like an inconvenience. would advise people to stick to well populated streets because we did feel threatened, especially walking round after dark.
the hotel was very clean, the room very spacious and well looked after by the maids. but the staff on reception and the waiters, well, what can i say? rude and miserable are the only words that come to mind. the food was plentyful, but tepid and frankly not very nice. we had to wait for a seat every morning and evening in the dining room as it was way too full, and we had to clear the tables of dirty dishes before eating. they actually shut one of the dining rooms for a 'gala night' for special guests on our last night there, so we were all expected to cram into one room!! thank god for morris's bar just across the bridge!!
bar prices were ridiculous, considering you can get a beer for 1 lev just outside.
we will not be going back to bulgaria after this trip, for cert.

" We Had a great Holiday ,Hotel was... "

We Had a great Holiday ,Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly.
Food was excellent and great choice over the 2 weeks.
Our room was spotless and the cleaner was very nice .
Animation TEAM were fantastic both my kids had a fantastic time and
my 3 year old loved SMILEY .
The drinks were very over priced in the Hotel but they were plenty of shops around where it was alot cheaper e.g Coke 3liv in Hotel 1.50 Liv in shop big difference.
But overall had a great time and would highly recommend this Hotel.
PS no matter where you go you will find you have to get up early for sunlongers!!

" I have just returned from bulgaria... "

I have just returned from bulgaria well? what a dirty cheap tacky resort loads of sex shops stripe bars and casions worse that Blackpool by far. You feel threatened, unsafe, also the locals ripe you off on taxis, shop prices. They have no respect for there visitos at all. Watch what you eat and were you eat at.
The streets are littered with rubbish, uneaven pathways.

The Hotel should have been 4 star, the hotel was clean but when you went for your meals - you have to wait for a table, then clean off the dirty dishes from the customers before you, and re-lay the table, if you can find any clean cutlery. I had to eat ice-cream with a fork. The food was not very hot or even warm. The waiter service well what waiter service. I would never return to bulgaria again always check the web sites to see what other people think before you go.

" Wow, what can I say, other than what... "

Wow, what can I say, other than what a fantastic hotel!

The rooms were spacious and clean. Fresh flowers and fancy towel designs on our beds several times a week. Maids were honest too. My son had left some money on the bed. The maid asked us if it was for her and handed it back when we said that our son had left it by mistake. For her honesty we gave her half of the money back.

The food was good. Vast amount of choice, to suit all tastes. So good, I could not get into my going home jeans!! The only niggle, was that the waiting on staff, cleared plates even if you had not finished eating or someone on the table was still eating.

The one down side to the hotel was the over priced drinks, although they were cheaper than in the UK. Could buy drinks outside the hotel much cheaper.

The entertainment team was fantastic. Our kids could not get enough of the activities. The kids entertainers even took the kids out to the beach, mini golf and the 3D cinema.

The adults entertainment team, in particular Nikola, Krasi and Evgani made our holiday. What a laugh we had joining in with the activities, water polo, french boules, shooting, cocktail games etc.

Although the hotel request that sun beds are not reserved, be prepared to get up early to take your towels down.

The beach is great. The sea is warmer than the hotel pool.

Would highly, highly reccommend this hotel. We have rebooked for next year and cannot wait to go back.

" Still the best hotel I've had the... "

Still the best hotel I've had the pleasure to stay in for my annual Bulgarian holiday.

Once again stayed at the Iberostar Sunny Beach Resort Hotel. Standards still excellent, although I noticed a relaxation in the dinning room for evening meal. Men were being allowed to wear short trousers, in past always had to wear long ones.

Food was once again excellent ( put 9lbs on )wide variety at every meal, may be why we saw a whole family of Russians ( about 10 ) constantly filling grannies bags with whatever they couldn't fit on a plate.

My one negative comment about hotel is price of drinks compared to immediate area. Cocktail of the day was 8 lev whereas in the bars immediately outside the hotel you'd get 2 for this price. Beer was 5 lev , I was paying between 1 & 2 lev max. Bottle of wine in dinning room 18 lev, lovely bottle of Kadarka in supermarket outside hotel was 2.90 lev.

Maid service was very good with our room cleaned every morning immediately we went to breakfast. Lovely arrangement of towels again in shape of swans, flowers etc.
Cleaners work throughout the night keeping everything shipshape.

Pools were checked every couple of hours for pollutents and we never had a problem getting a sunbed . Towels provided free, although a deposit is required.

First 6 towels out every morning on sunbeds had union jacks on them so can't call the german's here.

Very cosmopolitan hotel, Brit's, Irish, German, Russian, Romanian, Dutch, even a group of Aussies although I would say the vast majority of guests were over 30
Animation team worked hard all day and night looking after mini club, maxi club , adult things like shooting, table tennis boules and nightly shows.

All in all a very good hotel complimented by its beach location yet only yards from the resort centre ( no noise as windows are double glazed ).

" There were 3 in our party, 2 adults... "

There were 3 in our party, 2 adults and 1 child aged 9. As soon as we entered the hotel, which was in the middle of the night, we were greeted by very helpful staff at the reception and a bell boy to take our luggage to the room. The hotel has a really nice entrance area and is spotlessly clean in all areas. We couldn't find any fault whatsoever with this hotel, the staff are extremely helpful. The food in the restaurant is buffet style with some chefs cooking while you wait. The food is plentiful and lots of choice and no matter what time we went down for a meal, there was always a table available. The location was ideal and literally across the road and over a bridge to the sea. TJ's bar (which is not far at all) on the beach is very nice and reasonably priced. We had lunch there quite a few times. The only negative thing which I will say is that the drinks, soft and alcoholic are extremely expensive from the hotel bars and during the day, whilst we were around the pool area we got cold bottled water from the many supermarkets nearby. e.g. a bottled water from the bar is 280 levs and from the supermarket it is 70 cents, bit of a difference. Our only regret is that we should have stayed longer than a week and we would definitely stay at this hotel again.

" This hotel is huge, however it is... "

This hotel is huge, however it is divided into 2, and so all your requirements are located in your part of the hotel.
Staffs were very helpful and polite.
The rooms are very spacious and clean.
Was given a free courtesy room for an hour at the end of our stay to freshen up, as we were not being picked up until 7.30pm.
The pools are clean but cold. It didn't stop our daughter playing in there at every opportunity.
Restaurant is large, clean and there is plenty of variety, if you're a big meat eater. We did struggle a bit due to some of us were vegetarian.
Entertainment was ok, they all tried extremely hard and the kids loved them.
Location is great, far enough away to not be disturbed at night, but close enough to go out in the evenings. Beach was just across the bridge.
Downside to this hotel is the sunbeds, if you want a sunbed in the sun for the whole day you had to be prepared to put towels down by no later than 7am.
I would recommend this hotel to all it is certainly one of the best hotels I could see in Sunny Beach.

" Arrived in the hotel end of August... "

Arrived in the hotel end of August 2008. Was part of a group of 10 teenagers... When we arrived at the hotel we were impressed with the way it looked, and the friendliness of the staff!!
When taken to our rooms we were happy, especially with the music for the bathroom. I would say though, that we were placed on the 4th floor, and opposite my room was the cleaners staff room, in which they are allowed to smoke and leave the door wide open to our room smelt of smoke!
Room are a good size, shower is good, balcony was good with a nice view over the pools.
The pools were a bit disapointing, they were all extremely cold (the indoor one the worst!), and the outside pools were of one depth which is not very good if you cannot swim very well.
The food in the hotel was really nice, a lot of choice! We went with a vegetarian and a fussy eater and they were both able to eat a lot of the food! If you do go, visit the italian restaurant which is an extra 5lev if you are half board.. well worth it for a lovely 4 course meal!!!
The evening entertainment at the hotel is apalling!! We watched a parrott show which lasted 5 minutes and wasnt very good, and a cabaret night, in which they had very very bad soundtracks on that they mimed and danced (really poorly) too!!!
The hotel is in a good situation.. the bridge opposite takes you straight to the beach and to the main strip of shops. Lots of restaurants and bars... all offering happy hours and cheap food!! My advice would be to keep walking as they get better the further you walk! The castle is good for food, as is Viking bar. For drinking Amigos is amazing, they do the most amazing cocktails, and Bar Mexo is also very good!! The drink is quite cheap unless you are drinking imported alcohol!
The McDonalds off of the main strip is absolutely amazing as well.. the nicest mcdonalds! And the pizza slice kiosks are also very nice!!
Be careful of the men holding the crocodile and snakes as they will just pass you the animals, take a photo and make you pay... they charge 15lev, but if you dont have the money exactly they keep the change!
Most people are very friendly, but they want to sell you loads of things! The shops dont really have much to buy.
Sunny Beach is a really nice resort to stay in, you have to pay for the toilet however wherever you go... the food is good, the drink is really good, the beach is lovely! There are a lot of irish people there!!! Everyone is up for a laugh though and want to meet new people!!!
i would recommend the hotel to everyone, but the resort of sunny beach is more for those wanting to party and drink than families!
A lovely holiday!!!

" Just back after 2 weeks in this... "

Just back after 2 weeks in this hotel. It must be the best holiday i have ever had. Went with my fiancee and her daughter and must say we were treated like royalty. From the animation team to the hotel staff everyone was friendly and really nice. The breakfast and dinner is first class, plenty to choose from, as well as food back home from bacon sausages, eggs toast tea etc and at dinner time like pork, roast beef, steak, chicken, plus starters like varios types of soap etc. the animation team is first class best ive ever come across they really made are holiday for the three of us. There shows are excellent and very entertaining from moulin rouge to saturday night fever to hairspray to comedy show. I made sure i was up in the morning to play the games from rifle shooting to killer darts to water polo and football. They entertained us morning noon and night. The hotel is really central to anything like the beach and bars and restaurants approx 5 mins from everything. Just outside hotel you an get large beer for 1 lev approx 40p. Will definitly be back next year. If your thinking of travelling to Bulgaria sunny beach the iberostar is a must to stay in. Dont think i will go anywere else in the future. Jay from Derry

" I went last year to this hotel and i... "

I went last year to this hotel and i am going again in a couple of days. Some of the other reviews its like they want everything to be perfect to be honest ! The food was excellent and they did have alot of food to offer on the kid's bit. They had fresh Omlette's and pancakes made to order.
The entertainment was very good and rather funny as they tried their hardest one night to do the river dance and as i am a dancer i just couldn't help but laugh !
Most of my family go and stay in this hotel as my uncle and his family are there now and they do not prefer germans to the english as my uncle and his friend has been asked to take part in the show :)
Plenty of pools and hotel activities to do.
Yes do be careful of the gypsies as they are known to steal !
On one review that i read they said that not many children go it's just for couples and old people that is not the case as you went in september !!
It's very cheap and you could probably buy a pint of beer for about 30p !!
Rooms were always clean and the maids were always friendly.
There's so many things to see and do you'll never get bored
-Beach
-water sports
-eletric cooters
-Golf buggy's
etc...

Can't wait tll i go on the 11th August !!

I definatley reccomend this hotel to all ages !!

p.s Yes the germans put thir towels out very early in the morning it's fact they do it everywhere they go on holiday !!
So get there before them !

" For me the best hotel we've stayed in... "

For me the best hotel we've stayed in in all the years we've been going to Bulgaria.
Very centrally located for all the resort facilities and yards from the beach.

The hotel has first class standards of cleanliness both in the rooms and in the various sections of the hotel.

Excellent pools outdoor as well as an indoor one along with a fitness centre.
The animation team work extremely hard with things for both adults and children throughout the day and shows in the evening.

Large dinning room and the food is very good, which as most regulars to Bulgaria know usually is only average to poor in most hotels. Freshly cooked omelettes, large selection of salads and meat dishes, desserts to die for and loads of fresh fruit. You certainly won't go hungry here.

My only negative point is that the bar prices are high in comparison to what is on the doorstep, hence we were always out .

I am returning again next year and would recommend this to anyone.
