OK, I had read all the reviews on this hotel, and I was a little worried, lets start with the reception, I think there is a language barrier, if they don't understand you they pull a face and seem to repeat what you say sarcastically, I'm not sure its ment,we couldn't find where our welcome meeting was, and she just looked confused when we asked for help, turns out they come and collect you and you go on a coach to a bar in the town, (very strange) I think the lady is just not a very good receptionist, the bell boys seem to understand more, The All inclusive bar is silly, you can sit in the very nice lobby bar, but the bar is not All inclusive and nobody uses it, you can go to the shabby little All inclusive bar order your drink in a plastic glass from the very bored looking man, and take it to the lobby bar, The TV in the lobby bar plays a music channel which is fine, unless some people who I can only assume are staff, come along and turn it over to the Bulgarian news, and then proceed to sit and watch as if it was there own living room, it also says that it is a non smoking hotel, but one evening a group of people were sat smoking and the bar staff just got them an ash tray. The lifts are too small they got stuck, or were too low and you fell in. we heard a lady say that her teenage daughter got stuck in one for twenty minutes, not good as the space is very limited inside. The dinning room is very nice with an all inclusive bar with real glasses, on the whole I thought the food was nice, something for everyone, breakfast was English and continental service was good lots of waiters and waitresses clearing plates and tiding. Our room was on the tenth floor always took the lift up but very often used the stairs to get down. a very clean room maids came every day clean towels whenever you wanted them, although they were very old and a bit rough, the toilet was crooked so when you sat on it you slid a little, shower a bit dated but very powerful, found a fridge in the desk cupboard but the door came off often, tv worked, balcony fairly large, my children had an apartment across the corridor with a double in one room and a sofa bed in the lounge, which my son said was very uncomfortable and he often slept on his lilo. Their balcony was very large and they got the sun most of the day. The pool Freezing but clean, not enough sun beds, so people, and I am ashamed to say the English put there towels on the night before and sometimes left empty all day until the sun came out. It all could have been a little better, But its almost right on the beach and not far from anywhere, there is no entertainment in the hotel. The sun was out and if you don't like the food in the hotel, food and drink is very cheap in Bulgaria, and has something for everyone Nesebar is a good place to visit you can get the sea taxi for about ten Lev, but an ordinary taxi is cheaper.

2 Adults All-Inclusive
Just back from 2 weeks in this shocking hotel. Worst hotel we have ever been to. We are now in process of taking this further.
Rude and arrogant receptionist
Disgusting dirty carpets throughout rooms and lifts.
Sheets didn't cover beds.
Mould growing around shower, swimming pool and fridges.
No cocktail bar and terrace bar that the brochure said (It is now a subway)
Discriminated against for being British (given different coloured band) British had to pay for sunbeds on beach !!!!
No hot water after 6.15pm
Food discusting unless you like fish fingers, chicken nuggets & pizza (this was adult menu)
Poor selection of drinks.
Snacks only available between 4-5pm.
Had to pay for own coffee as they don't offer this as advertised.
Table cloths not changed, had to use dirty tables.
only about 40 sunbeds, if you were not up at 6.30 you don't get one.
The reason it is rated one as it was close to beach.
Pictures to follow.

cocktails cheap
14 rooms per floor about 14 floors(50 sun loungers at the most) in other words none available unless you wanted to get up at 6 in the morning
the hot water would run out every evening and a couple of nights there was no cold water either(we were on the 12 floor)great views
air condition would stop working on a regular basis (but they did come and fix it every time) 4 times
romms very clean \i think it had had a makover recentlty

We have just arrived back from a weeks holiday in the Grand Hotel Sunny Beach. My self (50) ,my husband (50)and one son 24).We had a great week, the beach was fab,we were very central to all activities as the hotel is just a few steps from the beach, shops bars etc.the hotel itself is not 4 star but very good fot the price and location. The rep was very helpful from Thompsons and very informative(well done Simon). We stayed bed and breakfast which was fine as there was cereal which wasent great but no suprise there, but you could have a hot breakfast which was lovely or fruit ,cheese , cold meats , the usual choices.a lot of people seemed to go for all-inclusive which they seemed happy about. We had some lovely meals out at great prices, and we had no problen at all with the local beer which we found very good. For a great valu holiday its a great choice, weel be back.marian ,Dublin Ireland

we stayed here early may this year.ok so its not 5 star.but staff were great, food soso but always found every meal ok.location great, and our rep .Peter Petrov solved any problems we had.one of the best reps in 20 years of travelling.the season had only just begun,so not much to do,but will go again.in spite of there being 80 pensioners from the baltic, who ate everything in sight we ate later as arranged by management.we are pensioners ourselves who have travelled all over the globe and we made allowances for any blips.we arrived and were the only two in hotel for 2 days!!!but we have a sense of humour and this saw us through till more guests came.the staff were brilliant and always pleasant.so no complaints were ignored.

We had 2 weeks of hell in this hotel booked all inclusive, but no snacks or coffe through the day until 4pm while 5pm and the pool bar was non existent has been turned into a subway sandwitch bar. The all inclusive bar is as small living room!! and the lobby bar you have to pay.I strongly advise people with children not go as there is no entertainment through day and evening. The resort and the people were fine definatley go back to bulgaria but not there it is suppost to be 4* wouldnt rate it 2*

With my whole family we stayed in the Grand Hotel for two consecutive summers! It is true that the swimming pool can't accommodate everybody from the hotel, but our pleasure was to actually go and enjoy the beach! The Bulgarian water is blue and full of small fishes, there are plenty of water and beach sports to have fun, and the sand is so fine and golden, nothing to do with our rocky beaches at home. The stuff of the hotel is very hospitable, everybody speaks English, so there is no communication barrier! The hotel is tall and beautiful, and is 5 min away from the center - all the family enjoyed it. As we travel with children, normally we find it difficult to enjoy our vacations, but in Sunny Beach one has entertainment for everybody - pubs, discos, amusement parks, shops, mini golf, spa....everything! Drinks and food are so cheap, that we came back again in 2010. I recommend a vacation in Grand Hotel and I am positive that you can enjoy a great holiday at a good price!

Five of us ladies ( all over 60's ) booked this hotel for an all inclusive holiday ( unfortunately for 2 weeks!! ) only to find out on arrival it was all inclusive "light". perplexed, we soon found out what the light part was!! The 2 out of 10 i have given for the lovely rooms and comfortable lounge bar. I read the reviews before we went, some good, some bad, so went with an open mind. How i wish i had taken heed of the bad ones!!! The now lobby bar ( which was originally the irish bar ) where all inclusive " light" got their drinks from was so dark and depressing. Food was the same every day, afternoon and night, always cold and tasteless. No hot drinks after breakfast until 4pm for an hour then none the rest of the day!!! "Free drinks" very very very limited!!! Were told cocktails were spirits with lemonade or cola or shandy!!! Over 200 rooms, less than 50 sun beds and about 10 brollies. Unless you were up at the crack of dawn, no chance of getting one! Apart from about 4 staff members ( vanya, george, dezzi and kriss ) the rest were miserable. Reception staff apart from Theadorer were arrogant and ignorant. Balkan rep MILEN uninterested in anything we had to say. 4 days before the end of our holiday they ran out of sprite, we were informed there would be no more because it was the end of the season, yet there were guests staying for another week that we knew of. The day we left they ran out of butter and had to have margarine. All inclusive light, what a joke!!!There was no entertainment at all which you usually get when you are all inclusive, nothing at all for kids except 2 pool tables which were outside the hotel and seeing that there was no lights on a night they couldn't see to play if they wanted to. Couln't even sit out on a night with your drink because it was too dark!! We go abroad on average 3 times a year and this is the worst hotel we have ever been in. Read the reviews by all means but all i can say about the people that put good reviews is that they are easy pleased!!

we read some reviews about the hotel and was alittle worried however the hotel was clean staff were polite the food was tasty although abit repetitive. my partner did have to get up 6.30ish to grab a sunbed.we were both disappointed with the room as the view was awful nothing to look at but it was clean with fresh sheets and towels everyday.we have two children 7 and 5 we struggled to find anything to do at night very little family entertainment anywhere! which we wanted as nothing in the hotel to do in the evenings.we would recommend this hotel and sunny beach only if your a couple or 18 -30 unless your hotel states entertainment.

Just got back from Grand Hotel Sunny Beach? All inclusive. Well starting with the Pool/ Pool area it was very dirty with all green fungi in the surrounding drains round the pool also water very cloudy.
After a number of times reporting to the rep and Hotel Manageress they did only clean the drains 3 days later with a jet wash, but where did all the dirt go? YES in the pool.
The brochures out of date with NO pool bar ? NO garden terrace? NO shops or hairdressers?. Very rude bar man in the very small all inclusive front bar. Plastic glasses in the in door restaurant. No where near enough sunbeds around the pool and many are broken, not enough out door seating around the pool area either. With the small area of grass that was around the pool, people did sit and sunbath on the grass but did get moved off by the gardener, as there was little room any where else.Disgusting and insufficient cocktails that were avaliable. No entertainment as advertised on the net. Very divided with the colours of the wrist bands as British have Blue and other nationalities have Yellow ones. This seems to be that if you have the yellow wrist bands you are respected and receive more attention, e.g drinks, Larger glasses and even free sunbeds on the beach, even better service in the restaurant and around the hotel. Only 2 small lifts, not enough for the size of this Hotel. Same food most days and get really fed up didn't go down for breakfast most days so we did eat out quite alot? Didn't have a decent range of foods to eat.
But on a positive side rooms clean but basis, house keeping very good.
And yes we did read the reviews before we left but as you know seeing is believing. As well as feeling like a second class citizen on holiday.
Also this was a present for our 21st Wedding Anniversary.
