The resort of Albena is really beautiful and has something for eveyone, you can walk though the forest or along the stunning 5km of superb sandy beach with its warm waters.
The Laguna Garden Hotel was lovely and clean the rooms where very spacious with a lovely deep bath and shower in each room. The only down side was the food in the restaurant which became very repetitive after the first week and more geared to the German guests.
My husband suffered from a good dose of sickness and when speaking to the rep and other guests a lot of guests where also suffering. It probably didn’t help when half raw chicken piece had been served.
I must say Sue the rep was brilliant and very knowledgeable, if any problem she sorted it straight away. The was a slight improvement with the food after the complaints.
Things are so cheap in Bulgaria and Dobrich is well worth a visit as it has plenty of good shops and is a lot cheaper then the resorts cost about 3 lev each way pp to get there by local bus which you catch from the bus station.
We had a really fabulous holiday very relaxing and very cheap. Take photos of your love ones or pets with you as it is so cheap to have an oil/pastel painting done and the artist are second to none, cost approx £38 framed. Also engraved key rings of pets, children etc are really cheap about £3.
A glass of beer is around 3 levs in main resort but look around and a few bar just out of the main run charge 1 lev for beer, wine etc about 30p!!
Wine is very good value and the famous snow wine is cheaper in supermarkets but shop around as prices vary a lot.
What a great holiday we had in...

What a great holiday we had in Albena this is our sixth visit and we get welcomed back by the staff at this hotel like we are family.
The rooms are kept very clean and the maids are very friendly although they do not speak much English they get by. The only thing that lets this hotel down is lack of entertainment, it really could do with some activities going on in the day time (for adults) Although we were half board we ate out every evening in different restaurants as it is so cheap, although we are noticing the prices rising to when we first went to Albena.
After the hectic time we had at Varna airport this hotel is just what you need to relax in for two weeks. Also highly recommended is the Green parrot (pub/restaurant opposite hotel) had many a good night there (ha ha).
Am looking forward to returning next year (July).

Albena is a beautiful resort that is perfect for families as well as couples who don’t feel up to the more heady delights of nearby Golden Sands. My boyfriend and I went for a week at the end of June on a last minute deal and did not know what to expect. We found a beautiful country with plenty on offer.
The people are lovely and we didn’t encounter any problems whilst we were there. The hotel was in a perfect location, a 3-minute walk from the beach and right at the beginning of the main strip which had plenty of bars and restaurants to keep us entertained for the week.
Keeping to the theme of most other comments on review sites, our favourites were also Club Tropical and Poco Loco. Bulgaria is amazingly cheap - £25 for a lobster dinner was the most we paid all holiday for both of us. The beer is £1 for half a litre which is actually very expensive (Albena is one of the most expensive resorts in Bulgaria), in nearby Varna the same beer was 35p!!!
Two trips to try out are the Yacht Picnic which involved lying on a yacht for a few hours which takes you to a secluded beach where all food and drink is included then a final trip back on the boat - very relaxing!! The other trip is the complete opposite - the jeep safari. This was the highlight of the holiday and was absolute bedlam. You are picked up by old Russian army trucks, driven all over the countryside and to places of interest whilst squirting your fellow travellers with water pistols. It was hilarious and definitely helped along by the copious amounts of alcohol available at lunch time!!
The hotel could not have been better, the staff were friendly and polite, the rooms were comfortable and cleaned daily and the food was lovely. We have seen many reviews that said the food was poor and catered only for the Germans and whilst the choice was aimed at more continental tourists it can only be real heathens that cant find anything at all to eat - the choice was huge.
Quite apart from that it was so cheap out there you could go to a restaurant without feeling guilty. Compared to the other first choice hotels it was in the best position and seemed to have some of the best facilities. I cannot recommend this resort and Bulgaria enough!
I would definitely give this...

I would definitely give this holiday 10/10. First choice double booked our hotel so we were sent here. Great hotel, we were seen too and upgraded to fully inclusive.
We had rooms right overlooking the pool. Just outside the hotel was the market and loads of family bars which was great everyone was so polite over there.
The pool attendant Lilly was lovely could speak good English and very friendly.
The bar just outside the hotel was great 6 of us has dinner and 2 trays of tequila slammers for £23.50 God know what it would cost here.
The maids cleaned the rooms no problems there.
I would definitely go back.

We have previously visited this area on a number of occasions but this was the first time that we stayed at this hotel. The First Choice rep Jackie was very helpful, happy and polite. We enjoyed this holiday that much that we have booked again for this year.
We highly recommend this resort and hotel.
