this hotel needs to be pulled down, its something out of a horror film, there has been so many incedences going on it was unreal, first someone got hurt parasailing, a girl slipped in the lobby her foot was cut open which needed stiches, the leaking roof in the animation, a so called piece of cloth was put down to soak up the water a woman had slipped on the cloth and hit her head on the steps its no wonder she didnt cut her head open the bouncers saw this happen but turned and walked away we helped her up after she came round even tho she said she was ok we knew shed hurt herself, and what with young lads being beaten up by the bouncers for no apparent reason for instance one lad asked for a coke in the disco bouncers jump him and started hitting him, another lad was pulled from the pool and had his ribs broken, several lads were taken in the lifts to the top floor and been given a beating, dried blood in the elevators,
We paid for all inclusive dont know why you couldnt eat it chips were ok even though cold, you would be lucky to get a clean plate knife fork, looking at the food then the chefs made you feel sick before you start, then try and get a clean table no chance,
it would not have been so bad if the staff had a smile,to us it seemed a look of hate of us brits in their country, and to add to it the room was no better sleeping on the same sheets, last but not least talk about health and safty well their was none of that their and the thing is noone seemed to care or listen we might just have well talked to the brick wall,

Me and my girlfriend went to the royal park hotel in september this year with high expections as we paid alot of money for are week in the sun all inculsive.In some points we where happy in some points not.When we got there at 4 in the morning after traveling all night it did take a while to get the keys to get to the room as the recpitions didnt speak the greatest of english.There was a few men there to help you with your bags but it was soon clear why they was so happy to help when they ask you for a tip.As i didnt really know how the money works i just gave a note cos at that time i just wanted to get to bed only to realisle later it was about 20 quid in english.Not bad for 120 seconds work.Any way the holiday didnt get much better,the first day was hot and sunny just what we wanted but that was all we got cos after that it was rain and cold wind for the rest of the week.End of september not the best time for bulgaria weather wise.So for doing stuff in the day we was fairly limited and spent alot of time in the restraunt and are room.The food was o.k but pretty much the same every night which was o.k if you liked chips and fish.No entertainment at night apart from bingo and kids disco so not idle for us.One nice bar on the beech which you have to pay for and the bulgariaen people are possiblely the most depressing people i have ever meet.It was a job for them to raise a smile when they served you.And me and my misses are 19 and iam 23 so its not like we are a old couple.I would not recommened going there.But on the up side the veiw from are room was fantasic and the rooms them selves are nice and ive heard it can get hot there,we was just unlucky.

Just got back 4am today (04/10/2008) would never go back!! entertainment for children poor when i complained they said they have bingo at night only 3 lev a ticket, yeah right like my 3 year old can play bingo! no shallow ends at pool, food poorly cooked had to check your meat as it was severely undercooked 4 of my party of 5 got food poisioning the worst being my 3 year old lad whos temperature shot up so much his body shut down and he started fitting asked for an ambulance but they wanted to take him to hospital on an open golf buggy in the rain..... The boy was unconsious wrapped in a sheet, i went mad in the end an ambulance was called and took me to a private hospital which is linked to the medical room on site, that was not cheap! would have been free if it had been the national hospital, i also found the first choice reps defended the hotel rather than helped you. I could go on & on but all i will say is judge for yourself this is not a family park and WATCH what you eat!! such a shame as its a nice complex.

Well my family have just came back from Royal park in Bulgaria. i have never been so glad to be back in all my life, from start to finish it was terrible. We arrived through the night and settled in. When we got up for breakfast we were appalled, the scrambled eggs were runny as if not cooked through the beans were undercooked so on and so on for those who have been you will know what i mean.A family we met who stayed for a week got dissentry which is a 3rd world type of food posionong where food or water has been contaminated by SEWAGE. the womens husband has lost over a stone in weight and it took microbiologists a weeek to find out the cause as its so unusual here. my 2 1/2 daughter had the runs which we are awaiting results for there was no entertainment for her or my sister. We never ate much of the food offered by the hotel. we basically had toast for breakfast skipped lunch and ate out too scared to eat in hotel. we seen a rat the size of a cat by the pool very close to where people were eating. tiles were missing from the kids pool,umberella poles were left in ground minus brolly leaving the base pole uncovered and very dangerous as the ground there was also very wet and slippy from the pool,blood in foyet, burst pipes, uneven paving again my daughter took a few injuries,mould and algae in pool which has a sighn sayin due to temp and weather conditions u were not allowed to swin in. wasps were everywhere constantly, my daughter was stung 4 times between legs down the beach. the reps laughed at our complaints every morning there would be a que to speak to them they just shrugged shoulders and moved on to next person how can they enjoy there job? A boy was badly BEATEN in 1 of the lifts before we arrived he was still in intensive care when we left and glass was not fixed in it either!!!! there was quite a few incidents with the security. we had a 17 hour before the bus came for airport transfer they wanted £150 just to keep room an extra 6 hours which after paying for dinner evey night for past 2 weeks we couldn't afford but by god the BEST part of the holiday was comin home i almost cried with relief oh yeah we got 3 days of sun rest of the time we were couped up in the room!!

well must say i didnt read the reviews before we left for our honeymoon with our baby. when we arrived we queued for over an hour and once we got to our room discovered it wasnt what we had paid for but they did move us. which i wish they didnt as our room flooded literally 4 times and each time was ignored and had to clean it up ourselves.
the food!!!! if that what it was called i only ate pasta for the week as what wasnt eaten at lunch was clearly served for dinner. the beach was amazin and the hotel building it self. couldn't go in the pool as it was too deep as i cant swim and far to cold for my baby. entertainment wasnt very good but couldnt complain. first choice reps just look at you blankly when you complain about flooding ect. and witnesses and single mum bullied by security and staff for towel. they tried to make her pay over £200 which she didnt have in the end everyone around trying to help paid them.
all in all a really nasty place to go. but thats what we paid for. it needs shutting down!!!!

just came back on the 20/09/08 ,there really is no need to listen to all these moaners on here hotel very impressive on arrival reception staff friendly enough to say it was 4am quick check in and taken straight to our room which was very clean and tidy with sheets folded in fancy shapes ,breakfast was hot and plenty of choice food did get a little repetative but what do you expect feeding over 1000 people at a time ,there was a party of 24 (13 children & 11 adults) and not one of us came down with food poisoning always plenty to go round and plenty of drinks ,pool was good for the kids but not me i thought it was to cold hehe and as for the wasps yes there were plenty of them but if your goin to eat food outside in the sun ect your goin to get wasps round ,beach was beautiful clean tidy ect ,entertainment was so so ive got to say first choice reps entertainment was rubbish but the elinite annimation team was brill ,not really alot to do in the hotel area but if you travel to sunny beach theres plenty up there, your holiday is what you make it just sit back relax and enjoy .xx

What a load of rubbish! Yes there were incidents witnessed at the hotel, such as the little boy who slipped at the pool - I did not see the actual incident, however from what I did see and hear, it was an accident, which could have happened at any pool anywhere in the world, not just here, pools can be dangerous places, and medical staff from the on-site medical centre were right there complete with ambulance which arrived within minutes... I also had my own medical issue (nothing to do with the hotel I may add!) and found staff to be very attentive & thorough, and couldn't be more helpful and friendly.
The food we did not have a problem with. Everything was well-cooked and enough choice (although a little repetitive sometimes), although we became rather irked at the number of constantly complaining brits, at lack of fried food/chips etc. We like proper healthy meat and veg dishes and salads/breads etc so we were more than satisfied with what was on offer. When even a very fussy 8 year old can eat well all week, I can't see what the problem is. We always had clean plates & cutlery, and the whole hotel, not just the restaurant, was spotless. The pool & all corridors were cleaned from morning to night to a very high standard, maids were run off their feet cleaning up after rude brits who just left their rubbish at their backside, wonder if they do this in their own homes...
First Choice reps were lovely! Always smiling and eager to help and advise, even reception staff which I gad heard bad things about were very helpful with bus times/prices etc. and directions within hotel. We found that a smile together with a please and thank you usually made a difference!!!
All in all, beautiful clean hotel & resort, on-site medical centre & spa fantastic, lovely beach & clear sea, staff lovely (we even tipped certain staff members who gave over & above their call of duty). There was a wasp problem, but nothing a little repellant/citronella oil didn't fix. The poor guy at the outdoor bar had it the worst, yet STILL managed service with a smile, even when he didn't get so much as a thank you... same applies to bar staff at the Irish Bar & main lobby bar, who served rude brits all day & night and still managed to stay smiling & polite for the most part...
We would definitely return to Bulgaria, and to this resort, and particularly the Royal Park Hotel, despite the bad weather for most of the week we still managed to have a good holiday!! A Holiday is what you make it, if you go to find faults at every turn you will find them, we found very few, can't blame the staff for the weather unfortunately lol

retured home 27/09/08 and never been happier to get home. i really dont know where to start. this place really does need closing down. i wouldnt let my dog stay there. on arrival the resort looks very impressive (once your out of the airport) then you are greated at reception by the most horrible and misserable people i have ever met, infact all the staff here seem like there being forced to work, nobody smiles all staff simply frown and stare at you. in the first week we witnessed some horrific lacks in health and safty which include a child very nearly being knocked down by a golf buggy that the staff use to travel around the resort.they travel at hi speed round corners and simply laugh when they narrowly miss you, a child being given mouth to mouth by the pool after drowning, a child having four teeth knocked out while playing in the so called child frienly animation hall and a woman being taken to hospital with suspecter broken shoulder and ribs after a water sport event that should never of been allowed to take place in the conditions it did and soon after the incident the men responcable soon disapeared. the food was average overall altough the catering staff where swetty and horrible i wouldnt like to see what happens in the kitchens. the table were alway dirty and didnt get cleaned between sitting, cutlery was dirty (when you could get some). first choice reps could never answer our questions and also always look misserable and unhappy. the only time they seemed to liven up was at disco dance down of a evening. the main arena (animation hall) were entatainment took place was a death trap with water leaks all over ther place. we witnessed a young lad slip on the tiled wet floor (which resulted in yet again another hospital visit) and when the manager of the hall was approched and questioned on the incident his responce was 'he should be more careful i have better thing to worry about like the holes in my roof'. security guards were on a ego trip and all walked like they had carpets under there arms, they would simply stand and stare at you. this review really just scratches the surface i could go on but just want to put the whole horrible affair behind me. if you are planning to visit the royal park please dont waste your time or money, i truly wish i had gone to blackpool instead. if you are going i hope it has improved for you and mind the wasps, they are billions of the and they swarm around you from morning till night, you cant eat with out them on you food and you cant drink without one landing in you drink. this place is horrible, smelly and nasty and to be honest judging by the body languge, ignorance and shere rudeness of all the hotel staff the dont want you there in the first place.

This was my 1st and last visit to Bulgaria if i could give it a zero out of ten i would the whole hol, was a nightmare from start to fin, i cannot even priotiorise things as literally everything was a disgrace ,food disgustig,staff,rude ,cutlery [they resorted to using plastic ones when short ]crockery ,chipped,cracked.and greasy .pools filthy ,cleaning standards non existant ,food poisoning rampant ,this has really turned me off visiting Bulgaria again so any one reading this please beware how people are giving 10/10 for this hotel is unbelieveable,all i can say is they are paid to send in those reviews i have only just signed up for this site sinnce i came home on the 22nd thats how appalling my hol. was and i feel people have a right to know what crap they are paying good money for thist is a totally honest review and i am sure of the hundreds of people there at the same time as me if they know about this site they will be highlighting their grieveances exactly identical to mine beware this hotel is a nightmare with a capital N 0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 OUT OF 10 BELIEVE THIS
