Since coming home from this holiday I suffered a heart .attack the day we got home. The hospital think it was caused by .stress of the holiday.
First we were put in a different hotel because royal park wasn’t ready .the reps told us that the hotel was ready for our second week. It wasn’t, we were given six rooms to look at. One had a workman in it living there. One had no electric. One had running water all over the floor. One had tiles and mud on bathroom floor. One was used as paint store. The list goes on. We ended up having a room on the 6th floor with damp beds and no curtains.
Food was uneatable most of the time. The bar was one girl serving drinks being served from the floor in plastic beakers. The list of things wrong with this hotel is endless.
We complained. To first choice , and have been offered half our money back, which I am reluctant to accept.

I can’t believe all these bad reviews I'm reading. If I were to pay any attention to them there is no way I would book up for the royal park hotel. Thankfully I was there with my family and able to form my own opinion.
I agree the food was not up to much, but it was edible. My son who is eight was quite happy to eat pizzas day after day, what kid of his age wouldn’t. Most mornings we didn’t go down to the pool until 11 o clock and we still had a pick of sunbeds. Our towels were changed daily and our sheets were changed twice weekly.
All in all we were happy with the hotel so much so we have recommended it to other family members and we are all going again in June 2005.

Food
The hotel food was absolutely awful. If you like pork then you would be in heaven, because that is an option every night. The breakfast options were OK, you could have a ‘Fry Up’, cereals or salads. However, for evening meals, there is two choices, over-cooked food, or under-cooked food. 4/10.
Accommodation
As the hotel is very new, it’s bound to have some teething problems. 7/10
Entertainment
C***, unless you like going to Butlins. There is nothing for teenagers. 4/10
Staff
They do not smile; they also need to smarten up their appearance. And the cleaners have to learn not to keep on clean the floor of the toilets once someone has been in there, after a while it becomes a ice-rink. 6/10
Trips
Go on the Jeep Safari, it was brilliant. It is a great day out. Ask to go with the driver that drives the old red Jeep, his name is Ned, and he is the best (I mean wackiest).
Donkey Safari. A complete waste of money. You spend an hour on a coach getting to the place, and when you get there, you go on a donkey-pulled-wagon for 20minutes, then have some Pancakes, salad, and drinks (for Free) for 40 minutes, and then go back to the hotel. In the leaflet, it says that it’s a FULL day out, don’t believe it. It lasts around 3 hours, and 2 of them are used up getting there and back.
Trip to Istanbul, Turkey. You are told to be ready outside the hotel’s main gates at 4:45am, for the coach to pick you up. However, it’s safer to get there at 5:15am, because that’s when the coach actually arrives. Then you go around picking up other people from hotels. Do not be fooled if you are told that it is an English coach, because if you are English you are only the minority. And if you have anybody from Latvia on the coach, (like we did) expect a 3 hour wait at the Bulgarian and the Turkish borders, because they are actually people trying to claim asylum in Turkey. Turkey is one of the filthiest places I’ve ever been to, if you want to throw something in the bin, and ask someone where there is a bin, you just get told to throw it into the road. Here is a good word of advice: DO NOT GO ON THIS TRIP!!!.
Few extra things
Before you go on holiday, remember to pack a plug. Because chances are, you wont have a plug in your hotel room, and however many times you ask reception for a plug and they say we will get you a plug ASAP, you wont get one. In a friend’s room, they had no plug, their telephone didn’t work, and there was no TV remote.
