" Singapore lived up to all my... "
Submitted By: Miss S.L. Jackson
Singapore lived up to all my expectations of a modern, vibrant city. It is well known for it's cleanliness and security, the underground rail was spotless & a pleasure to use. The people are very polite & helpful & eating out was very reasonably priced. It is very easy to use public transport in Singapore to get around the island so no need to book expensive tours.
I visited at the end of Nov/early Dec in order to see the Christmas lights, which were spectacular & made the trip special. The shopping along Orchard Road is mind blowing, far too much to see & do in 6 days. A trip to The world famous Raffles Hotel is a must, afternoon tea was very special as was a Singapore Sling cocktail in the Long Bar with all it's history. A day trip to Sentosa Island was a good day out with the cable car ride making it exciting & a great way to get a view of the coastline. The Night Safari was very different, lots of animals to see at close quarters.
I flew with Singapore Airlines from Manchester on their 777 aircraft & have to say it was the most comfortable economy class seat I've experienced. The in-flight entertainment was brilliant, too much to watch or listen to during the 13 hour flight.
I would thoroughly recommend Singapore as a city holiday with a difference or as a welcome stopover to Australia/New Zealand or all points East.

We have stayed at another hotel near the river, but preferred the Allson for its location.
It is centrally for some many things/places... Within easy walking distance of Raffles, Bugis St. market which is great for the bargain hunters & Sun-Tec City, to names just a few.
We never really used the facilities. Only the pool during our first stay, but that's because Singapore has so much to offer we just didn't get time, but the hotel does offer a gym/pool etc.
We have found the staff friendly and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
As for Singapore, we love the place, clean, safe & vibrant.
If it weren’t a 13-hour flight away, would probably go back again & again.
