We booked a 3-day break at the Travelodge Covent Garden because of the central location. The Travelodge is located in two separate buildings, which are approx 200m away from each other. Our hotel was on High Holborn and the other building is in Drury Lane both are within 10 mins walking distance from Covent Garden and 20 mins away from Leicester Square.

On arrival we found the staff friendly and helpful, the room was a family room and was very clean and tidy with coffee/tea making facilities, TV, and plenty of bedding available. We had a double bed and a pull out double bed settee, which was more than adequate. The room was large enough and the bathroom was immaculate with lots of towels provided. The hotel does not have air conditioning but there are fans in the room should you need them.

We booked bed and breakfast and the breakfast was well worth the extra cost. There was lots to choose from, bacon, sausage, the full English breakfast was all fresh and you could have as much as you wanted there was also fruit, cereals and muffins available. All nicely presented and refilled constantly by the attentive staff. The dining room is a little small and sometimes you do have to wait to be seated if it is a busy time but we didn’t have to wait long and once seated you didn’t feel rushed at all. The tables were cleared and wiped down constantly so everything looked clean and tidy even when the staff was busy. The hotel is very busy at this time of year but all the staff were friendly and always had a smile, which was nice to see. I did read some bad reports about this hotel before we travelled but I can honestly say it is well worth the money and we would go back there again anytime.

The bad reports seem to be coming from the building on Drury Lane and this seems to be because that part of the hotel is going through a refurbishment and has been for some time but being in the heart of London is constantly busy so is staying open during the refurbishing.

I would advise that if you stay here and are not happy with the room or anything else for that matter, speak to the staff they are only too willing to help.

Also they can offer advice on places to visit and where to book show tickets etc if you want them.

As a moderator on this site I know how much reviews can sway where people book their accommodation so this is an honest review and I can recommend Travelodge Covent Garden as a good value for money, central hotel. We will certainly stay there again when we visit London.

One night stay at Travelodge Covent Garden. For starters, this is not in Covent Garden as you would like to think. It`s not a case of grabbing a nice meal and having a good night in Covent Garden and then falling into your accomodation. It`s actaully located on High Holborn, the main road which is about 5 minutes from Covent Garden. Saying that though it is no hardship and is well located for both Covent Garden and Holborn tube stations. The room was ok, it was not pristine and the sofa was very tired and not particularly clean, bearing in mind it was the 2nd bed! For the price £60 for 3 adults it was a bargain so you get what you pay for. I have found that Travelodges are not a patch on PremierInn but the latter don`t have a sliding scale of rates like Travelodge which sometimes start at £9.

Overall, stay here, it`s adequate and convenient, just don`t be sucked in by the "Covent Garden" labelling, would you stay if it was described as Travelodge London Holborn?

A fantastic place to stay! We managed to pick up one of Travelodge’s fantastic £26 pound rooms from their website. For London this is an absolute bargain!

Three of us stayed in this room and it was plenty big enough for us all. The hotel was clean and fresh and the staff were friendly and helpful.

As for the location of the place, you can't get better for a sightseeing trip of London! It is right in Covent Garden, easily accessible by tube and bus.

Would definitely recommend and will certainly be going back!

We stayed at the Travelodge in Covent garden which was a stones throw away from all the action.

The room was a reasonably priced £85 for a night, based on 2 people sharing.

It was a good place to crash, with clean facilities and helpful staff. As we were on a hen night, they put up with our raucous requests for more booze and directed us to the best places to get it!

We were able to ride in rickshaws from the hotels to our various destinations, such as the salsa bar and various other local drinking holes.

If you look for luxury in your hotel, this is not the place to stay, but if you are looking for cheap accommodation to crash in for the night, this is ideal.

A reasonably priced all you can eat breakfast was extra to the price of the room and was the perfect hang over cure.
