" As this was our first villa holiday... "
Submitted By: dobbie1958
As this was our first villa holiday we didn't know what to expect and as we'd looked at several brochures such as James Villas and Thompson's Villa holidays we wondered if the price would reflect this in the accommodation. Our party of 11 people cost about the same for the villa and annex, the flights and car hire and the insurance as the other brochures were quoting per person! and we paid a price per accommodation!
We thought that if the villas were dumps at least we could make the most of our holiday and use them as a base for sleeping etc. How pleasantly surprised we were! The villa and annex were spacious, charming, comfortable, clean and cool with good sized bedrooms, living/dining room, balcony terrace with large table and seating and built in barbecue, outdoor sun terrace and good sized pool. It had a full kitchen with a table and chairs and even included a washing machine and dishwasher!! And 3 full bathrooms!
The view from the Upstairs Terrace was breathtaking and I took breakfast there every morning I was there watching the village come alive, listening to the sea and the birdsong. It was heaven!
Although built on the Algedar Gorge, parts of the resort are very steep, but the main part of the resort is on the level with shops and restaurants near the river and the beach.
A magical place to go for a relaxing holiday!
Ps There are also several large hotels you can go to in the evenings as they provide entertainment for non residents if you buy your drinks there! If you have kids, there is lots for them to do as well!

It's a perfect location, just outside the main resort centre but still only 8 mins walk to the beach (mind you, it's up hill coming back - be warned!).
Views from the patio could only be described as simply stress busting and we spent many a late evening watching the world go by - not a care in the world ! We even watched the moon rising over the trees...
Bedrooms a plenty with bathrooms to match - no waiting for the loo here!
Only small gripes (if you want to call them that) was the television with no sound...? and other minor maintenance issues ie. lamps blown in light fittings, tiles loose in base of pool - you get the picture....but to be honest, it mustn't deflect from the overall fact that we enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Cala Galdana is amazing - lovely beach, friendly people, evening entertainment to draw you in - the Alta Galdana hotel had tribute bands every night with ABBA being recommended.
We will return !!!
